I have been going to this place for years and it's a great dentist, but just a heads up they do not take Blue Cross Blue shield.

Was on a medicaid plan that expired after turning 21 but was extended until covid was over. Had an appointment with them a week before it expired and drove 20 minutes there just for them to be closed and not tell me ahead of time. Rescheduled for the following week cause my medicaid plan I was still on was still effective. They called and canceled because they told me my medicaid plan had expired. I explained to them what was going on but they didn't want to listen to me, so I hung up on them. Y'all still owe me an appointment by the way.

I have been going to Conroe Smiles since my oldest turned 2 and now we have been twice a year for three years. Yesterday was my first time to take both of my girls, now 5 and 2, to get their teeth cleaned and have mine done at the same time, which is no easy task. The staff at Conroe Smiles made the entire experience run smoothly! Holly, who is AMAZING with kids, cleaned and Xrayed my 5 year old while another hygienist cleaned mine and put on a little show for my 2 year old.

When I was done my 2 year old had her first visit with the dentist! Conroe Smiles' goal when kids are young is just for the kids to have a good experience at the dentist's office and mine sure did! They were able to brush, use "Mr. Thirsty", and even the scale for cleaning. The girls normally get to pick out a toy from the treasure box, but with covid they gave them some stickers. Amazing job!

My hygienist was A.J. Listened to my concerns, gentle yet thorough with the cleaning. Dr. Portales listened and discussed all issues of concern. Patient, knowledgeable, and conserative in treatment. The best overall dental office I have ever used. Front office was definitely a plus.

Have had root canal a year ago. My teeth uh teeth still hurt. I wouldn't take worst any to this place.

Don't go here if you have Medicaid unless you like being treated like a peasant. My insurance pays for X-rays and basic teeth cleaning. I needed extensive cleaning and they assumed I didnt have the $64 it costs to get it done because I'm on Medicaid. They didn't even offer to do the cleaning that is actually covered by my plan. Instead they handed me my treatment plan and sent me on my way without even asking if I could afford the cleaning at that time.

Just assumed I didn't have money for it. I did, but I'll be damned if I give them a dime to treat me like I'm less of a person for the simple fact I have Medicaid. Absolutely rediculous and embarrassing to be treated that way because of the type of insurance you have.

Love Dr Portales and his staff. They are friendly and very caring. They are very compassionate if you have dental work anxiety.

Another excellent experience with the team. Mechelle noticed a new issue during cleaning that will result in a crown replacement ASAP. Every single aspect of the process for getting that scheduled is on target. Sandy and I very much appreciate the quality of both your service, treatment, and dental care!

Walked in today because I needed some paper work filled out so I could enter the U.S Army Reserves and the older lady in the clinic named Colleen who also does billing refuses. She informed me a needed to to seen again by the doctor when my exam was indeed within 1 year. She told me a dental exam was only good for six months. I have never heard this before!

I showed her paper work saying it need to be within one year and she still refused. Saying Cigna allows me to get an exam every six months. I informed her that I do not have insurance any longer. I am trying to go into the U.S Army reserves so I can have insurance. She picked up the paper and said WHAT IS THIS? YOU TRYING TO GO IN THE RESERVES OR SOMETHING!

I can not believe the treatment received today and not to mention veterans! My two sons and husband were patients but not anymore! They lost four patients. I will never go back here at all and will warn people about this unethical doctor. The form had three question on it THREE! They only care about money and insurance here be warned! VERY MEAN COLLEEN!

Dr Portales and his team are GREAT! I always feel welcome and safe when I arrive at his office. And I always know that Frankie will be looking out for any discomfort and does everything she can to make sure I'm relaxed. This Dental office looks out for the patient and I appreciate that.

Recently moved into the area and was told that they accepted my insurance plan that allows for 2 cleanings and X-rays per year. Recently received a bill for $156 with a lovely note attached. The billing lady literally hung up on me when I told her that I was told by her office when the appointment was made that my Insurance would cover cleaning and X-rays.

Good--- LOVE LOVE LOVE all the dental hygienists at Conroe Smiles! They really make you feel so comfortable. If you are little kid or just a scared adult they have DVD's they can play to distract you in each room. I feel like I am in great hands with everyone there especially DR P. They have state of the art digital equipment and keep you up to date on all things dental related.

No one enjoys going to the dentist, but I don't mind going to mine at all. I always leave there with a smile. Bad- Nothing at all to report --- Just floss, rinse, and brush your teeth regularly and you won't have any problems in the chair. ha ha Ugly- Nothing to report
