Our practice has called the beach cities of El Segundo and Manhattan Beach, CA home for over 50 years. Originally established by Dr. James Duffin in 1967, the practice was expanded to include Dr. Michael Adams in 1977 and Dr. Amy Gimlen in 2006. Our endurance and reputation has allowed us to stay in touch with our patients long after their orthodontic treatment is completed, and enabled us to treat second and even third generation family members.
Dr. Gimlen has a unique blend of training from some of the top nationally recognized clinical orthodontic programs and decades of treatment experience.

Services
We recognize that all of our patients are unique and deserve to receive orthodontic care that reflects their individual needs. Our experienced and talented team is committed to working with you and your family to create a comfortable, stress-free, and rewarding orthodontic experience every time you visit our practice. We are pleased to welcome you and your family, and we look forward to working with you.
Dr. Amy Gimlen's mission is to provide excellent, cutting-edge orthodontic care in a warm and comfortable environment. She believes that orthodontics goes beyond the function and aesthetics of her patients' smiles, and strives to help them achieve personal growth and self-confidence, in addition to beautiful smiles.
The American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) was founded in 1929. It is the oldest and most prestigious specialty board in dentistry. The ABO's aim is to elevate the standards of the practice of orthodontia, to familiarize the public with its aim and ideals, and to protect the public against irresponsible and unqualified practitioners.
We get asked, why can't my dentist do my orthodontic treatment? Your dentist could "do" orthodontics, just like your family physician could "do" surgery. However; everyone would probably agree that as much as you like your family physician, you'd prefer to have a surgeon perform surgery. Orthodontists spend an additional 3 years in residency, specializing in correcting the position of the jaws and teeth.

So informative and kind. All of the information that we needed to make a sound decision was presented to both my son and I, as well as extra info on the city, as we've just recently moved here. A positive experience all around. I would highly recommend Gimlen Orthodontics to anyone who's in the need of a great office.

These guys are the best! Family friendly, nice, gentle and accommodating all in a state of the art clean and well kept facility. I wouldn't go anywhere else and comfortably recommend Dr Gimlen and her staff to anyone. Definitely check them out first. I got Invisalign about a year ago and my before picture looked like Sloth from the Goonies and my after picture is all Julia Roberts from Pretty Woman!
