Dr. Farnoosh is a graduate of the University of Iowa, where he earned his M.S. degree and specialty certificate in Periodontology in 1974 and a Ph.D. in Pathology in 1978. He has taught at the University of Southern California (USC) since 1981, where he has held the title of Director of Doctoral and Post Doctoral courses. He also served as admissions chairman for the School of Dentistry. He was promoted to Tenured Associate Professor in 1988 and subsequently to Clinical Professor in the Department of Periodontology.
Dr. Farnoosh is the inventor of patented methods to treat discolored and dark pigmented gums. His treatment methods have been featured in the International Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry, and in The New York Times Best Seller Billion Dollar Smile by Dr. Bill Dorfman, dentist on ABC's Extreme Makeover.

Seriously best Dentist I've ever been to. Dr. Farnoosh really cares about what he is doing and isn't trying to scam you for extra money. He wants the job done right and is looking for your best interest. I would recommend him to anyone/everyone. He's enjoyable to be around and goes through everything with ease and no pain. The best dentist around! I hated going to the dentist when I was younger, but when I switched to Dr. Alex Farnoosh, he changed my mind. He was so gentle and was constantly making sure I was comfortable and pain free. I felt very safe and trusted him. Everyone in the office was so friendly as well. I would definitely recommend him! Dr Farnoosh was very compassionate and sensitive to my needs. I will definitely go back see her and her staff. Lori, is super kind at the front and makes sure my hygienist explains everything that is going on before any procedure or just basic cleaning started. Lori takes her time explaining the charges and ways to make payments easier for me to do. The entire visit was great and going to the dentist is my least favorite place to go.

When I saw the negative review, I had some doubts about getting work done with this Doctor. I read that one, but then I read some of the others and I was convinced to book my appointment. I have had a receding gum issue that has gotten worse with age, and I discovered that Dr. Farnoosh is qualified to perform the "pinhole technique" on receding gums, and 3 months later I can really see the difference.
Yes, this is Beverly Hills and this kind of work is already seriously expensive, but when you are investing in making an improvement to yourself, especially when it comes to your mouth and your smile, money should not be the first consideration, it should be about expertise, reputation and experience.
Beyond that, the office staff were great, and my experience was a pleasant one. I highly recommend Alex and his team when you are ready to make an investment in getting the best periodontal treatment.

Dr. Alex Farnoosh is a fantastic dentist. Over the past year, I have had some fairly severe dental issues (infected gum, extraction, implant, etc.) and Dr. Farnoosh handled all of these problems professionally and gently. He's such a down to earth person and is always concerned about pain management and making sure that all procedures are as painless as possible. I cannot recommend him enough!

Dr. Farnoosh is an amazing periodontist. My mother has been suffering from gum disease for years, and has had multiple surgeries to address it. When we finally found Dr. Farnoosh, everything changed. He has been able to address the issues, and we haven't had to do any additional surgery since coming to him. He's also a really caring dentist, and great to work with.

It took me THREE years to finally get enough courage to get this procedure done. After years of research, I knew I had to go to the inventor of the "Gum Bleaching" technique, after seeing and reading horror stories about Dentist who have claimed they were trained in this procedure and wasn't! I knew this was right way to go for my mouth and peace of mind.
This was by far one of the best dental experiences that I've ever had! I had braces when I was a kid and then I didn't stick with my retainer so my teeth are a little weird. I went to Dr. Farnoosh for some work done that honestly I thought was going to be a big deal. It was fine and he was great. I can't remember the last time I had such a good experience at a Dentist's office. I would recommend him to my friends if they were looking for a dentist.

I hated that my gums were receding over the years. A coworker recommended Dr. Alex Farnoosh in Beverly Hills last year. And she showed me where he had fixed her 'dark gums'. I decided to take the plunge and get my gums fixed. After only a few appointments my gums were looking MUCH better. NO surgery was required! Which made me very happy! My current dentist suggested that I would probably need some kind of surgery (ugh) - but Dr. Farnoosh's treatments were successful and so surgery was averted. Prices for services are tolerable - and The office is very very nice - and the staff is crazy nice. Prices are competitive. He's not gouging patients. I'd recommend this dentist to anyone who is looking for periodontal care. You won't be disappointed.

I have been going to Dr. Farnoosh for the past 5 years. I have had two potentially complicated dental surgeries (extractions and implants) done with Dr. Farnoosh. He has fixed my gummy smile, treated my dark gums and made it pink and beautiful. I was hiding my smile before and now I am thrilled with my new smile. Dr. Farnoosh was recommended to me by a friend who went to him for teeth whiting. I'm so glad she told me about his office! I'm a nervous patient, no matter what the procedure, Doctors visits just give me anxiety. However, both the staff and Dr. Farnoosh were so friendly and relaxed, I was able to calm down a bit and not be such a sissy about it all. They explained all the options and the procedure itself was relatively quick and totally painless. And my teeth look great! I now recommend him to my friends.

As you can see in some of my older photos, I had a raised upper lip that showed a bit too much of my gums. I would notice some people staring at them from time to time.
