His expertise in aesthetic enhancement, restorative care, neuromuscular dentistry and laser treatment translates into comprehensive, long lasting and natural-looking solutions for his patients. His expertise in aesthetic enhancement, neuromuscular dentistry and laser treatment translates into comprehensive, long lasting and natural-looking solutions for his patients.

* Aesthetic - beautiful smiles
* Restorative/ Reconstructive
* Neuromuscular - finding balance, relieving pain
* Alternative Therapies - options for continued health

This kind of expertise is very unique. It's an approach that looks at other causes for neuromuscular pain and prevention of pain before focusing all the attention on teeth. Neuromuscular dentistry isn't brand new, but the diagnostic technology has finally caught up with treatment.

As an Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology member, Dr. White is interested in therapies that promote healing and health. Patients should have options that don't create other health concerns. It's easy to prescribe the same medicines and remedies that dentistry has used for ages. Dr. Kent White refuses to take that road.

Neuromuscular Dentistry
Report
Neuromuscular Dentistry Dr. White's training at LVI - Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies - provides his patients with comprehensive oral health rejuvenating results.

Healing & Harmony through Art & Science Neuromuscular dentistry is especially important for those who are considering a smile makeover or who are experiencing oral and facial pain.

Correct Jaw Position Neuromuscular Dentistry differs from common dental practices. Traditionally and currently, dentists tend to focus on the teeth and joints. The neuromuscular approach goes further and bases much of its success on getting the muscles and nerves to coexist correctly between your teeth and joints.

By objectively and scientifically measuring muscle function in respect to jaw posture, and evaluating jaw movement and function, the optimal resting posture of your jaw can be determined.

Without the teeth, facial muscles and jaw joints in harmonious balance, people can develop painful complications: known by some as TMJ or TMD. The relaxing of muscles and tension often create an effect like a rejuvenating facelift. A more youthful look and enhanced comfort is the result.

Attention to Details Achieving success for every patient requires time, patience and, most of all, covering all the bases. Utilizing computerized diagnostic tools, focusing on the details, and maintaining a high-level of training makes it possible to improve how people feel about their teeth, oral comfort and dentistry in general. Consistent, predictable results allow patients to experience relief from perhaps decades of pain.

Even if patients don't come with specific pain issues and are just seeking restorative and cosmetic enhancements, preliminary evaluations in the neuromuscular approach are followed to uncover any problems that might occur in a smile makeover.

Full-Mouth Treatment Conservative full-mouth reconstruction (preserving as much natural tooth structure as possible) can reclaim your oral health. Full-mouth treatment is used in combination with NMD to attain oral/facial comfort and proper function for the long-term.

The Neuromuscular Dentistry Focus As Dr. Kent White explains, "It is important to treat the whole patient not just their teeth. This is not one-tooth-at-time, erratic patchwork dentistry; neuromuscular dentistry with full mouth treatment is planned, enduring success, which includes a beautiful, natural smile.

Melanie's Center for Advanced Dentistry Patient TMD Success Story:
"I was told I would need to take out one of my upper right molars due to severe decay and I wanted to get a second opinion to see if it could be saved. I had also gone through braces to correct a lot of problems and I noticed I was chipping some of my front teeth and they were uneven. I knew this was to only get worse as I aged.

It was after a consultation with Dr. White that I came to realize a lot of things could be further corrected and/or changed in only a couple of visits. I was allowed time to evaluate my options and I chose to completely redo my entire mouth in one visit! "

I saved my upper molar, corrected my cross bite, removed my silver fillings and had my smile restored and temporized all in one morning! It was amazingly painless and nice to accomplish so much at one time. "
Advanced Smile Dentistry
Report
Advanced Smile Dentistry Staying informed means offering the best. This credo has kept Dr. White in the forefront of modern dentistry. Being closely involved with the Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Studies (LVI) has kept Dr. White in the forefront of comprehensive dentistry. Dr. Kent E. White (DDS) focuses on both achieving long-term health and natural-looking beauty. He teaches dentists the value of conservative, metal-free dentistry, and how to rehabilitate a smile and straighten teeth using non-orthodontic alignment. Finally, he uses his background in neuromuscular dentistry to offer you proper balance for pain free function.

Specific Treatments Include.

Laser Bonded Fillings
No more silver/mercury fillings! No more metal! Natural-looking, advanced restorative resins bond with your teeth, which means we can save more of your tooth.

Smile Whitening
Whitening should be performed only on a healthy smile.

At our Nashville office, we provide two kinds of smile whitening. One method takes about two weeks to complete. The other method offers our patients a convenient alternative - it takes about one hour.

Porcelain Veneers
This smile transforming treatment can straighten, whiten, lengthen and widen teeth. Veneers.

Can Straighten many teeth/smiles typically in two visits
Are Specially crafted to look and feel like natural teeth (veneers aren't caps)
Are Created for, and molecularly bonded to, each tooth, you get a durable, long lasting solution
Are Used on any tooth in the mouth - often helping us avoid crowns
Have been around for 20 years - they're a proven, reliable option

Porcelain Inlays/Onlays
This treatment gives our patients an intermediate option. Standard silver/mercury fillings and metal-based crowns used to be our only options to save natural teeth.

Tooth Contouring/Bonding
Bonding material is used to create a tight and durable seal at the molecular level in many types of modern restorations. We also use the term bonding for a specific type of treatment that can transform your smile - aesthetic bonding or contouring. It is a very conservative therapy - little if any natural tooth is affected and it's life-like in appearance.

Porcelain Bridges
No longer do we need to offer solutions that are very obviously dental in look and feel. Porcelain bridges are so amazingly translucent and natural looking that a dentist wouldn't be able notice the difference without very close inspection. Of course, it takes precision and artistry to make it happen.

Dental Implants - instead of removable dentures
Teeth lost to periodontal (gum) disease, decay or trauma can be restored back to natural function with dental implants. Bite like you did many years ago. With modern aesthetic materials, we can also recreate a youthful and vibrant smile to go with that new lease on life.

Advanced Smile Dentistry
Gum line Reshaping
Dr. Kent White likes to think of gum tissue as the matting framing the artwork of your smile. He can create an aesthetically perfect look. Don't let a gummy smile keep you from smiling and expressing your inner confidence.

Porcelain Crowns beautiful, strong
Porcelain crowns are the epitome of esthetic and restorative excellence and quality when treating severely damaged teeth. We believe we craft them with an artistic sense and place them with extraordinary precision. However, we try to go to this option as the last possible solution to saving a natural tooth and root.
Periodontal 'Gum' Disease Treatment
Report
Periodontal 'Gum' Disease Treatment Gum (periodontal) disease is the LEADING cause of adult tooth loss. The destructive power of this gum tissue infection is considerable. For example, TOTAL tooth loss occurs in over 22 percent of the US population by the time a persons turns the age of 65.

As for Tennessee, sadly, we are near the top for tooth loss at just over 32% - or 3rd out of 52 states and territories. Therefore, by the time a Tennessean turns 65, one out of every three will not have any teeth versus less than one out of four generally and the lowest tooth loss states it is only about one out of every ten.

BEFORE - Some Common Symptoms:

Gums Bleed after brushing
Teeth become loose
Gums redden and swell up
Bad breath/halitosis
Dentures become loose/fit is changes
Gums pulling away from your teeth
Your bite will change/how you bite down when eating

NOTE: Some symptoms are very early, others later in the disease progression.

The new owner of Center For Advanced Dentistry, Dr. Mckinnon Forbes has done several procedures on me when was practicing in North Carolina and I must say that Dr. Forbes has greatly exceeded my expectations. I still travel to Nashville to his new office to see him. After having dental procedures by a variety of dentists in the past, I found Dr. Forbes to be extremely knowledgeable, gentle and explained my options in a manner that was understandable while not being pushy. Dr. Forbes has a great demeanor and chairside manner and I am exceedingly happy with the results of his work.

From start to finish the practice is professional, courteous, kind, and informative. Dr. White and his staff are terrific at explaining the procedure while keeping you comfortable. I had some extensive work done so I was a bit nervous going into the appointment. WIthin minutes I felt very at ease. I had all my questions answered thoroughly in a way I could understand. Dr. White's knowledge is unprecedented and you really understand what true dentistry is. Dr. White's expertise and focus is providing treatment plans that correct your problem instead of just covering it up.

He has keen understanding of the neuromuscular system which I've realized is HUGE when dealing with your teeth. You can really tell why this is called the Center for Advanced Dentistry. I truly can't put into words how impressed and satisfied I am with my choice of Dr. White. A family owned business that truly puts their patients first! Please consider this practice for any general dentistry, but especially if you have a history of dental problems.

If you want someone that will be honest, give Dr. White the opportunity to provide you with the facts and let you make the decision without being aggressive or pushy. Again, Dr. White and his staff had the ability to change my life! They use the best labs in the country and still provide extremely affordable treatment plans. They use state of the art imaging and don't cut any corners. Thanks Dr. White and Staff for the outstanding service and professionalism you provide. I am beyond thankful I found you!

First, I want to say that aside from brushing and flossing my teeth, I had not been to a dentist in quite a while. I was referred to Dr. White by a family member and was a new patient. From the moment that I walked into the office, I was pleasantly greeted with smiling faces from Melissa and Gretchen. Also Paige, the hygienist came up front and greeted me as well.

They were very genuine and kind. The office atmosphere was beautiful and relaxing. After a brief wait, it was my turn. Dr. White came in to introduce himself and talk with me. He was very knowledgeable and humble, with a very good sense of humor. After x-rays, pictures and a consultation with both Paige and Dr. White, Paige began her work on me. I can say that I have never had as good of a teeth cleaning. Paige was very thorough. Everything, from the moment that I walked in, until I left, went very smoothly.

I had an extremely excellent experience. I am looking forward to my next appointment. Thank you so much Melissa, Paige, Gretchen and Dr. White! I have found my new dental practice. Dr. Kent White and his staff at The Center for Advanced Dentistry.

I was very fortunate to have good dental care as a child and into my adult years. As someone who is very interested in their health, I recognize that it all starts with one's dental health. The mouth is not only a reflection of one's health status, it is also an origin. With that foundation of understanding, I can without equivocation state that Dr.

White and his team share this understanding and philosophy. If that were not enough, they also have skills and knowledge that are second to none in advanced dentistry. I have had several procedures done by Dr. White, and his staff. Each time I am amazed and impressed by their quality of work. Never one to rest on their laurels, Dr. White and his staff are constantly working to improve themselves personally and professionally.

I have nothing but praise for their practice. If you want a team of professionals who are as interested in your oral health as you are, then give them a try. You will be happy you did.

What a great practice! I inherited Dr. White when my dentist retired. I had no idea the wonderful journey we were about to begin. From the staff to the technology to Dr. White's knowledge - it's not your average "visit every 6 month" experience by any means. They truly want you to have the best and healthiest mouth you possibly can. I'd recommend him to anyone.

I have been amazed at the excellent service from the office of Dr. Kent White. The service is excellent from public relations, appointments, dental hygienic cleanings and especially Dr. White's "Advanced Knowledge" of how to have and keep a healthy mouth. His dentistry knowledge and compassion surpasses all past dental experiences. I have never had an issue that is negative with anyone at this office. I applaud the hard work, kindness and the understanding of everyone at The Center F or Advanced Dentisry. Sincerely and with Gratitude, Christy A. Mitchell

I went so unsure of what to expect Cannot tell you what a wonderful experience it has been beginning with the receptionist to Dawn and Dr. White. So professional and caring. "This is the best thing I have ever done for myself. I love my smile and what it has done for me. Dr. White and his team have truly added to my life. As soon as the temporaries were placed and my bite was opened and moved forward, the years of early morning nasal congestion, stuffiness and drainage was greatly reduced and I could breath better than ever before.

I had been to countless doctors over the years and was medicated and/or told there is nothing more we can do. I am amazed!"

I just wanted to send a note to let you know what a difference my new smile has made in my life. As cheesy as that sounds, I can't fully explain this with words and for people who have not had to experience this then I don't know that they would fully understand. I don't think an e-mail is going to adequately describe this but I thought I would try to jot some things down so that you can use any or all of this as a testimonial.

My experience with the whole process has been extremely easy and virtually pain free. Initially, I was very nervous about the entire process as you know and it took me some time to decide based on the financial investment. You guys did a phenomenal job! I appreciate your personal attention to my needs and wants and all the hard work that you all put into helping me.

I would recommend Dr. White and your office to anyone. I feel very fortunate that I stumbled across your website. So thank you very much for making my smile makeover such an easy experience. I can't even describe the change this has made in my outlook and attitude. The physical appearance is obvious, but the change in my countenance and confidence level has been dramatic.

So dramatic even my closet friends have commented on it. While I feel that I was a happy and confident person before, I don't think that I displayed it in my attitude or the way that I carried myself. And now my confidence and happiness is very evident. The ease with which I can smile now and feel confident about my smile is incredible. I have had people I work with joke with me and tell me that I look way too happy now and that I smile too much.

My family, friends and coworkers have all been very supportive of me, and this change. You know that I have lived with the tetracycline staining for 36 years. This past summer for the first time in my life, I have had people that I don't even know actually comment on what a pretty smile that I have. Again, I hate to be repetitive but what an incredible feeling it is to have anyone compliment me on something that I have been so self-conscious about my entire life.

When we were doing the temporary teeth part of my treatment you asked me if I had any regrets. I can honestly say that I have had no regret at all. The time and money that I have invested have been well worth it and I would do it all over again without any hesitation. If anything, I should have had the smile makeover earlier but maybe it is just all about timing.

Anyway, I think I have rambled enough. The only other thing that I can say is thank you Dr. White and your team.
