Dr. Michael is born and raised in Sarasota, FL. He attended the local community college for 2 years before transferring to the University of South Florida. He received a bachelors degree in biology with honors from USF and was accepted to the University of Florida College of Dentistry in 1997. He graduated from UF in 2001 and acquired the long standing practice of Dr. Ridley Ward. He has since married and had 3 beautiful children as of 2016. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with the family doing activities such as golf, tennis, fishing and eating at many of our wonderful restaurants in Sarasota.

Fantastic experience and practice! I felt welcomed and in great hands from the minute I walked in the door. The 1 1/2 hour drive from Ft Myers was well worth the trip! Dr Michael and his entire staff was very friendly, professional and thorough. He discovered some things my local dental practice had overlooked, took the time to explain a generous amount of details pertaining to my dental situation/needs, and offered some great tips. Dr. Swanson and Devin made my first time tooth filling experience painless and easy, couldn't of asked for better patient care it was hands down the best I've received. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my dental needs after my time at their state of the art office. I even managed to fall asleep during the drilling process if that gives you an idea of comfort they provide.

The dental technician Devin was very cordial and treated me with dignity. Dr Swanson was really hands on with my evaluation. She was very kind to me. Wow again. My first visit to here was a new experience for me. State of the art equipment, superb exam room and offices, and a very helpful and friendly staff. The second visit for a cleaning was very meticulous and painless. The doctors are very kind and spend time to explain the issues you might have. It's a full service dental office which embraces all patients care and well being.
Although I am the typical, oh no dentist time this office has changed my mind on a lot of things. I feel confident in their care and look forward to having healthy teeth again

Dr. Michael is amazing! He went above and beyond to help my 20 year old daughter with her broken tooth. We live in Michigan. She was on her first day of vacation with friends when her tooth broke for a 3rd time. This time so bad that bonding would not work and she needed a crown. I searched for a dentist to see her on a Saturday. After hours on the phone with no luck, Dr. Michael answered the call!
He was at home with his children. He took the time to talk with me and workout a plan. He came in from home and spent about 4 hours in the office with my daughter. He made her feel completely comfortable. The porcelain crown he made for her, right there in the office, was perfect! She went on to have a great vacation with her girlfriends. Recently she went to our dentist/orthodontist back home for a cleaning.
He was shocked at how perfect the crown was, and said it was " really really good". Thank you Dr. Michael for your kindness, compassion and expertise. I wish you lived in Michigan. Gratefully, Amy Link

Karen, a perfectionist at cleaning teeth, has a warm personality and has gives caring sincere attention to her work.
