Dr. Koehnen began Uptown Dental's tradition of comfort and care in 1999. She attended the University of Minnesota, Morris for undergraduate studies. She went on to receive her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Minnesota in 1995. Dr. Koehnen has a commitment to continuing education and has completed courses in cosmetic dentistry, oral surgery and implant restoration.

Dr. Koehnen was raised in Shakopee and now resides in the Whittier neighborhood of Minneapolis. She enjoys volunteering locally and abroad.

I love this dental office. I started going there when I lived in the neighborhood; now I live in St. Paul and I still make the trek to Uptown Dental for their amazing service. All the staff is so friendly & thoughtful. They consistently go above & beyond. As a nice touch, their lobby is stocked with magazines pertaining to diverse people, such as people of color & the LGBT community. I really feel welcome there and they treat patients with the utmost care.

Uptown Dental is great! The hygienists I've seen are gentle yet thorough in cleaning my teeth and the dentists are excellent. I really appreciate the evening hours, as I cannot easily get away during daytime hours.

Great team. The techs are always helpful and low-key (I don't like bright and cheery). Dr. Koehnen is awesome. My whole family sees her. Not only a good dentist but fun to talk to. Easy to make appointments, too.

I do not like having my teeth whittled away and bored into, but if I have to have it done, Uptown Dental's the best place for it. I've had several different dentists work on my teeth and they have all been fantastic. They're very friendly and conversant, they clearly explain every procedure they're about to perform, they more than sufficiently answer all my questions, and they do the work that needs to be done.

I'm very enthusiastic about recommending this office to my friends and family because they have consistently made what could be a frightening and painful ordeal into a very positive experience.
