The two treatment rooms in the office were designed very large to maximize efficiency in treating the sedated patient. While the average dental treatment room is eight feet wide, these newly designed rooms are over fourteen feet wide. In addition to the advantages of moving equipment in and out of the operatories easily, their extra large size also minimizes the claustrophobic feeling some patients feel in the small treatment rooms. Their large size allows us to easily treat Alzheimer's, Dementia, and Developmentally Disabled patients.
Since 1991 we have treated hundreds of patients with IV sedation (sleep dentistry) having anxiety, dental phobias, gag responses, or whom just want to be very comfortable during dental treatment. It's the only office in Ventura County specifically built for sedation dentistry. Dr. Gagne actually has the special permit issued by the Dental Board to perform Intravenous Sedation in California!
Nitrous oxide sedation performed in our Oxnard, Ventura County, California dental office transforms adults and children filled with anxieties about dental treatment into comfortable, relaxed and responsive patients. Emergency patients have had bad dental experiences and are scared do very well under nitrous oxide as well.
Oral sedation uses pills to deliver the sedative medications. Oral sedation is very effective to aid the patient through short, and non-invasive dental procedures. The drug commonly used is called Halcion (triazolam is the generic name). This technique is commonly advertised as "oral conscious sedation" or "sedation dentistry" by other offices.

I have had fear of needles anywhere around my face, but no where else, since a childhood "bad experience" during a surgery. I have actually run out of a dentist office because of that and at 70 years of age, you'd think I'd be over it, but no. Dr. Gagne is amazing. He explains everything, gives all options for necessary work to solve a dental problem, with prices, the pluses and minuses of each and makes sure you understand so that you both come up with a decision on the best procedure for you.
I have been able to actually relax getting a shot of novocain because I feel confident in Dr. Gagne's skill and professionalism, and relaxed knowing he is taking the best care of me and my teeth. Thank you Dr. Gagne!

Dr Gagne has allowed me to go to the dentist without fear. I had many cavities as a teen and experienced many nerve hits that were traumatic for me. Every visit previously had days of anxiety prior to the arrival and extreme discomfort during operations and sometimes cleanings. Dr Gagne offers many options to put you at ease and even sedate you for major operations.
I have had many procedures replacing my old amalgam fillings under mild sedation. I put in earbuds and turn on some tunes while he does his work. He has always taken me seriously when I asked to make sure he numbs me really well. I would rather have my face numb than feel a thing. I am happy to say I haven't felt any of the pain I remember during operations of my youth and I no longer have the amount of anxiety I had before and during my visits.

Dr. Gagne is an amazing dentist. I have always had a fear of the dentist since I was a child and when I went to his office everyone made me feel so comfortable the nurses are amazing and the DR. Is great! He explains everything to you and let's you know what he will be doing, and he just makes you feel better and helps to calm you down. He deals with so many patients that have fears of the dentist and so he is very amazing at making you feel completely comfortable there.
He also is very generous, and has helped me out since I don't have insurance he was willing to waive a fee for me. I strongly recommend this dentist, you will not regret going to him!
