Services
In addition to digital radiography, we utilize special operating Global microscopes in all operatories. Magnification and fiber optic illumination are helpful in aiding the doctor to see tiny details inside your tooth. Also, a tiny video camera on the operating microscope can record images of your tooth to further document the doctor's findings.

In some cases, your root canals are unusually narrow or blocked (sometimes by calcium deposits or other debris), making a repeated root canal procedure ineffective. In other cases, a root canal procedure may fail or an infection recurs after a long period of time. In these cases, endodontic surgery may be needed and is the only alternative to tooth extraction.

I was expecting to have my crown removed and my root drilled out which had been my previous experience with root canals. This one was a pleasant surprise. Dr Kong was able to do a pin-hole drill in my existing crown, clean the root and place a temporary filling in the tooth. I had no discomfort during the procedure and minimal pain afterward. I would recommend this endodontist to everyone I know!

Dr. Kong, Shanna and indeed all the staff from the 'welcome desk' to billing are professional and create an aura of calm around a procedure that causes anxiety. Dr. Kong is extremely talented and I recommend him wholeheartedly to anyone facing root canal. I also want to let those who are apprehensive know that Dr. Kong offered to have my husband sit in during the procedure without my asking, which was amazing. That told me how much confidence he has in his abilities as well as how much empathy he has for his patients. Just first rate!

Dr. Kong and Michelle were great! I had a root canal done on one of my molars and I was honestly nervous prior to it. I had quite a few issues prior to coming here with other dentists and had lots of pain. Dr. Kong explained the whole process to me while he was doing it reassuring me through the whole procedure. I didn't feel any pain at all it was actually pretty relaxed. Not that anybody wants to have a root canal done but if god forbid I have to have another done down the road I will definitely come back here! Thank you so much!

I have used their services on two occasions and in both instances I did not actually need a root canal. Dr. Kong is exceptional. He explains everything in a clear and calm manner. Several years ago I had a bad tooth that because it was a wisdom tooth just needed to be pulled. His staff spent a lot of time finding an oral surgeon who could see me that day - a Friday before a holiday weekend. Their staff is outstanding as well. There are a lot of 5 star reviews listed here and I can certainly understand why.

Dr. Kong and Michelle both did an amazing job of making sure I was comfortable and was the most pleasant root canal I have had. There's nothing great about a root canal but they made it manageable. I had a "white-knuckle" root canal in the past, this wasn't even close. Everyone ensured I was as comfortable as possible and Dr. Kong did a great job. My dental assistant Michelle really went out of her way to make sure I had the best experience possible. If you have the misfortune to have to have a root canal, this is definitely the place to go. I really did appreciate everything they did for me.

Dr. Kong and Michelle were excellent. They told me everything they were going to do and how much time each step of the procedure would take. They kept me updated during the procedure. Their back-and-forth banter was entertaining. And the Zac Brown music was perfect! This was one of the best experiences in a dental office I've ever had! Dr. Kong is excellent and I definitely recommend him and his office to anyone who needs a root canal.

Just came back home from my first time visit at University Park Endodontics and had a smooth and fun service.
