Graduating in the top 15% of her Dental School class at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Dr. Kumar was a commissioned officer in the US Navy where she served as a general dentist. Prior to going to Dental School, Dr. Kumar graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Crystal Lake South High School.
Your initial visit will include meeting with the doctor, examination of teeth, evaluation of existing dental work, a check of the health status of your gums, oral cancer screening and a full set of diagnostic x-rays. With digital X-rays and intra-oral camera tour, you will see your own teeth and the inside of your mouth magnified on a flat screen.

Dr. Kumar was absolutely fantastic! She's always so personable and makes what can be a nerve wrecking experience pleasant. Shelly the assistant was so great as well. The work done was quality and beyond my expectations. I've gone from never having cavities to having a lot of work done and Dr. Kumar has been my first choice for all of it and I wouldn't have it any other way. Not to forget Rita, the receptionist who is always so warm and welcoming and extremely helpful. The Oaks Dental is number one in my books!

Always a great experience no matter what work needs to be done! I've never had anything sprung on me, no surprises like needing to pull this or that, etc. Dr. Kumar is so gentle I can barely feel her working in my mouth! Even my 10 year old twins don't mind coming here! Everyone is friendly and Rita is so helpful, she gives it that personal touch!

My whole family goes here, and we are all very happy with the whole office! Dr. Kumar, the hygienist, assistant, and front desk are all great with my daughter. We had one issue/miscommunication regarding bills, but it was taken care of respectfully. I do not hesitate to recommend The Oaks Dental Center!
