At Rekos & Border Oral Surgery, we strive to provide you with the best care possible for your oral surgery needs. In order to achieve this goal, we employ some of the most advanced technology available in the dental field. This includes the use of 3D iCAT scan imaging. With the image right on the computer screen, you can see what we see, and therefore gain a better understanding of what is happening and why specific treatments are being recommended.
If you have dental or medical insurance, determine whether or not Rekos & Border Oral Surgery is a participating provider with your insurance plan. If Rekos & Border Oral Surgery is not part of your network, you may still have the option to use out-of-network benefits. The insurance carrier can provide you with coverage percentages for both in-network and out-of-network providers. As a courtesy, we will submit the initial claim to your insurance company for services we provide you, at your request.
The next level above minimal sedation, moderate sedation, is designed to keep you conscious, but you may drift in and out, and may not remember parts, or any, of the procedure. As the name suggests, oral sedatives are taken by mouth. You take medication approximately an hour before your procedure, as it takes approximately 30 minutes for the medication to start working.

Excellent! Whole-heartedly recommend. The entire office, from the admin staff to the dental techs/assistants to Dr. Rekos, was top-notch. Personable, polite, respectful, knowledgeable, professional, and most importantly, Dr. Rekos was outstanding. I'm old enough to remember when this was the kind of service one encountered routinely, and it was truly refreshing to find a practice like this.
I had two implants done at the same time and was somewhat nervous. Dr. Rekos and his team quickly assuaged my nerves. In fact, they even had me laughing during the procedure! I highly recommend!

Dr. Border was absolutely phenomenal. From the consultation to the procedure the very next day, he was very attentive and handled everything flawlessly. I have a huge dental-phobia, but the whole process couldn't have went any smoother or easier. The entire staff was great. I even had a follow up call from Dr. Border later that day (I was asleep from the meds so I missed his call), and he left a nice follow up message to check in on me. Thanks so much to Dr. Border and the whole staff. It was a great experience and I'd refer them to anyone I know.

The billing department can't call the insurance company to see what is covered, instead they write a letter & wait 60-90 days. So they want you to commit without knowing what it will actually cost. So I called the insurance company & they told me what was covered that day so it wasn't as difficult as they say. After they expect you to commit without knowing what out of pocket costs are, if you question about the insurance coverage, the staff automatically cancels your appointment without telling you.
As professionals, they could have handled this better in so many ways. They could have called the insurance company themselves to find out exactly what it would cost and mostly they should have told me they cancelled the appointment. But they don't care. They don't care that two working parents are trying to coordinate their schedule to take off work for this surgery or anything about the kid's schedule. Extremely disappointed. If the staff shows this mush incompetency how will everything else be handled?

We had the BEST experience today at Oral & Facial Surgeons of Ohio. My six year old had an extra tooth that needed to be abstracted and the doctors and nurses went above and beyond to make her feel at ease. Somehow she even left with a gift from them to Starbucks! Later in the evening I was surprised to receive a call from the doctor himself checking to make sure my daughter was doing okay! I could not recommend this office enough!

Dr. Mike Border is incredible - I was very nervous for my wisdom tooth extraction surgery, and he answered all of our questions and addressed all of our concerns. He was both very kind and knowledgeable. He even called to check in on how I was doing for two days post-op. We had to schedule my surgery on a very quick turn-around because my impacted teeth began to cause a lot of pain, and we're so grateful that we were able to get in for the surgery on a 1-week turnaround. We'd recommend him highly to anyone who needs a wisdom tooth extraction!

Worst experience with a doctor's office I've had in my adult life. My original consultation was October 2020. I started treatment in December 2020 with an orthodontist based on the course of treatment laid out by Dr Scheetz. In early March of 2021 I can began to contact their office to schedule a follow up appointment and surgery date. Since then I've called every 1-2 weeks and have yet to be able to reach someone to book an appointment.
I've spoken with reception, left voicemails with the manager, explained that this is holding up my treatment plan, asked to switch doctors. I've even had the orthodontist's office call twice and still no response. At this point, I have requested a refund, and plan to file a formal complaint with the medical board. It's a shame because I've heard so many great things about Dr Scheetz as a surgeon, and my consultation went well. Unfortunately the administrative side is so poor that I'm forced to move on.

I was beyond impressed with this office! I had four wisdom teeth removed earlier this week which was a little unnerving. Dr. Scheetz put me at ease from the first consultation appointment. I was extremely impressed with the attention to detail Dr. Scheetz and the office paid from the panoramic X-ray to the folder with information about the procedure.
They even have a video for patients to watch explaining the procedure and wisdom teeth in general. All of this was impressive, but I was blown away the day of the surgery. In the evening on the day of surgery, I checked my phone and had a voicemail from Dr. Scheetz checking on me and making sure I was ok. I could not believe it. I was so touched that a doctor as busy and awesome as he is took time to call and MAKE SURE I WAS OK!
Since he did such great work and the office sent me home with everything I needed, I did not call back. Later in the week, however, I developed dry socket. On a Saturday, I called the office and Dr. Rekos called right back ON A SATURDAY and told me to meet him at the office. So, at 11:00 am ON A SATURDAY, in the middle of his family time and yard work, he came and helped me. I was so blown away. If you need any oral surgery, PLEASE use this office. This is what medicine should be!

I had 4 wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Scheetz and his team. The online video was very informative and helpful, pre-removal. The office was clean and inviting. I was very nervous for the procedure since I'd never been put under, and everyone was very nice and reassuring. The ice pack headband they provided was a godsend! The procedure went smoothly, and I got the extra bonus of coming back a few more times for dry socket packings : I would definitely recommend Dr. Scheetz!

My daughter had her four wisdom teeth extracted by Dr. Scheetz and his team. The pre and post-op communication was superb, as was Dr. Scheetz. The pre-op online video and consultation were comprehensive, and the surgery went exactly as they said it would. She followed their instructions to the T - it all went very smoothly. Highly recommend this surgeon and his team. Caring, communicative and comprehensive.

Bored out of my mind waiting on my wife when she gets her wisdom teeth taken out the waiting area is very clean even the mags are in order nice fish tank with many different kinds of fish the receptionist was very friendly and courtesy I wanted to head up the street to get a few things. while I waited but she went to ask thanked me for asking cuz they were almost done with her not much to say since I'm not actually a patient update thought I was done with the review.
But guess not since she's done out of surgery I got to go into another room where I'm not waiting to talk to the doctor update doc just left said she did well no drilling said it was quick very nice nothing but positive things one on one service maybe I'll come here pretty happy with the service
