Services
Did you know that Open Door provides free dental screenings to children in many elementary schools in and around Blue Earth County? Our partnership with schools in Blue Earth, Nicollet, Watonwan, Brown, and Martin counties gives families the advantage of free oral health examinations and education for their elementary-aged children.
Open Door has been providing medical, dental, and mental health services to under served populations in South Central Minnesota since 1994. During this pandemic, we are offering services safely in the clinic and via telehealth. The extra measures we have taken at Open Door to keep our providers, staff, and the community safe have been hard on our dedicated clinical teams, and very difficult financially. Your generosity helps Open Door meet the increasing demand of uninsured and underinsured individuals and families in our community.

The dental hygienists that work here have a serious respect and decency issue. Have you heard the studies done that show some medical professionals consider people of color as 'more tolerable' to pain and therefore don't get the proper care for that pain? Well, those results would surely show up here. The dental hygienists don't listen to you if you're a person of color.
They only listen to themselves and what they can spew out to make themselves look halfway decent but you'll find yourself talking to a wall. I don't make these accusations lightly. This is a repeated issue that I've seen happen for years here. If you're a person of color, I strongly recommend going somewhere else. Maybe other dental offices in or around Mankato would actually consider you a person.

Disappointed with this clinic. Waited 3 months to be seen because was told new patients were accepted for my children. Only to get a call one week from my appointment after I called 3 weeks prior to confirm that they will be canceling my appointments and good luck on finding another dentist. Very BS way for them to go about that due to short staff.

I went to Open door behavioral health. I went in. They were nice at the front counter. The nurse had helped me was wonderful. Then they brought me back to the person that would be taking over my meds. I sat down I said hello Jody didn't say hello back. I was confused I said hello again. And then she started to attack me verbally about my meds.
She did not explain anything to me. I tried to tell her that I didn't understand. She asked me nothing about my health conditions mental health conditions. She asked me no questions immediately started attacking me about what a psychiatrist had prescribed me. I was very confused at first also felt self-conscious felt self-conscious about the way I was being treated.
Then it finally clicked and I realized she didn't like the meds my previous prescriber had given me. She did not explain anything to me. She just verbally attacked me. I told I told her that I didn't understand and then she said do I want to leave now. So she asked me to leave. I had no idea how to get out of the building. And I had to ask for three times for her assistance to get to the lobby.
Then I got a little angry and I told her she was rude and nobody deserves we treated the way she was treating me. I went home I slept and cried all day long. Nobody under God's green earth should ever be treated like that especially somebody that has anxiety depression post-traumatic stress. Even if you don't have any kind of mental disabilities nobody should ever be treated like that.
It was a second most horrific thing I have been through. In my life. I totally thought about maybe I wasn't good enough to be helped by the professional fields. And maybe I should just go home and die.

Needed to fill out an ROI to have my records transferred to a different dental clinic as another clinic offers a discount to my employer's employees. I filled one out in front of the girl at the front desk. I called a month later to make sure they were sent. The girl who answered said "we didn't get it. I don't know what to tell you. You need to fill out another one." Not sure what that means as I filled it out right there.
I went in to fill another one out, the girl sitting in the front said they had 30 days to send them. I told her my dental appointment was the next day and she shrugged and said "not much I can do." Absolutely ridiculous and unorganized.

Open Door Health Center exceeded all my previous expectations. The facility is BEAUTIFUL, along with the comfortable and inviting examination rooms. They were able to assist me with payment methods, considering I have a high-deductible insurance. I was also informed that they offer dental and behavioral health services as well. I will DEFINITELY be back to ODHC!

I had such a great experience at Open Door Health Center in the Dental department. My son ending up needing some additional work done and they stayed after 5 until it was finished! I was so grateful for the friendly staff. Dr. Turrittin, Emily and Brooke did an amazing job with my son! I would highly recommend Open Door Health Center!

We went to this clinic and we had a horrible experience. The doctor that greeted us for our check up was horrible. She was really rude and forceful. The main doctor gave us a shot that numbs our mouth only to say that he couldn't work on it because of, "problems" He then just said to make another appointment. We waited almost a year to get this appointment.
They canceled 2 times on us because their workers were, "sick or out of office" Overall this was a horrible experience. The only good part of this experience was that their male manager had the patience to listen and to talk out what happened and help us through this horrible experience.
