Newton Dental Associates

I visited Newton dental associates today for the first time and it was a very positive experience! I met with Dr. Elyse Wagner and she was very kind and professional! She took the time to explain all my treatment options and answer all of my questions, at no time did I ever feel rushed or that my questions weren't answered to my satisfaction. I had the same positive experience with all of the staff that I interacted with! When I go to a healthcare provider such as a dentist I expect honesty, expert care and a friendly staff, I feel that they met all of those expectations!

I have been going to Newton Dental Associates for more than 30 years. This is a very well run dental practice. When I have had needed dental repairs Dr. Berik and Dr. Walsh have given me excellent care. I always feel safe and confident with whatever treatment they give me. Highly recommended.

Today was my first visit with Newton Dental. The entire experience was amazing. The receptionist greets you with a smile and I was actually taken at my appointment time! No waiting which speaks for itself. Dr. Wagner explained all my dental needs and I am happy to say I will be moving on to having Veneers and crown work done. I left feeling very at ease with the entire experience.

Newton Dental Associates is an outstanding practice. Dr. Berik and her whole team are highly knowledgeable, caring and committed to their patients. They go the extra mile to make sure that their patients are informed and comfortable. The equipment is state-of-the-art and the waiting area and treatment rooms are immaculate. My entire family has now moved to this practice and everyone has been ecstatic with their results.

The absolute best experience I've ever had at a dentist office! I had been looking for a new dentist and after todays consultation I know I've found the right place. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The office is clean, bright and equipped with the latest dental technology. Dr Berik is kind and caring and took time to give me a through exam, answer all my questions and discuss my goals and options in achieving a healthy and beautiful smile. I love the fact that they have a host of Specialist within the office. One stop dentistry, genius!

Personally I love Dr. Berik and her dental assistants for routine care. Unfortunately. I was seen there by a covering dentist and he dropped the ball and in all honesty was creepy. The oral surgeon is arrogant and unprofessional. Barely looked into my mouth and kept reminding me of his own "who cares" lame experience that doesn't relate to the matter at hand.

I feel taken advantage of here and feel so unsure how to continue going forward in an environment that puts sales before patient care. Reviews are truly helpful in these personal experiences. Good luck!

My seven-year-old son has a very difficult time having dental work done due to a gagging reflex and anxiety. His bedside manner with my child was patient, calm and amazing. He and his hygienist worked quickly, explaining everything to him and the experience was extremely positive. Professional, prompt care and excellent patient care.

Amazing experience! I drove almost 1 hr to go to this place and I will continue to do it. Totally worth it! From the moment I stepped into the office till the moment I left, the staff and the Dr were amazing! They answered all my questions with detail and patience, ensured they communicated all the process and options in advance. The technology used is top notch!

I can not say enough positive things about this practice! The staff is friendly and welcoming from the moment you walk through reception to the hygienists and the dentists. They made my nervous three-year-old completely at ease and made her feel like the star of the show. The atmosphere is really creative and fantastic with live aquariums. My daughter was so thrilled to see a little present waiting for her in the dental chair and loved picking out a token and a little toy after her teeth were cleaned.

Everyone who walked by smiled and said hello and was really kind. I never would have thought my nervous kiddo would let anyone clean her teeth at only barely three years old, but the staff did such a great job taking their cues from her that she is already asking to go back! Newton Dental has become a large company. It is very noisy. When you have serious dental work you want to be relaxed and quiet. I have been having dental work for over ten years. The atmosphere has changed. The dental work I have received is excellent and especially when I have has root canals. On another note, are your prices higher than that of other facilities in other towns?

I am forever grateful to Dr. Berik for giving me the smile I always wanted. Words can't describe how much it means to me. I contacted Newton Dental Associates because I was sick of feeling self conscious about my gap smile. Ling, Dr. Berik's assistant, made me feel welcome and cared for me from the moment I stepped foot in the office. After just minutes into my first visit, I felt glad I took the leap to do something. Ling put me at ease from the start and throughout my experience.

She is a wonderful person. Dr. Berik - where do I start? She is phenomenal. She is incredibly intelligent and her passion is amazing. I've seen a couple of other dentists in my life and neither one is like Dr. Berik in any way. Dr. Berik listened to me and my concerns from the start. I always felt a little bit silly about how self conscious I felt, but with Dr. Berik I felt comfortable and understood.

Her eagerness to make me love my smile was the greatest breath of fresh air I could ask for. She came up with a plan of action and when I was skeptical she could REALLY do that for me she made sure to explain the HOW and SHOW me too. Dr. Berik's plan included a minor tissue procedure on my gums (preformed by Dr. Garibyan - it was great I could do this right at NDA), accelerated Invisalign, whitening and veneers on 4 top teeth (the two front and one on either side of them).

The Invisalign was quick - just a few months! Dr. Berik's accelerated Invisalign treatment was amazing and the whole process was comfortable. I didn't mind it at all! Dr. Berik designed veneers that fit my teeth and smile. I appreciate the care she put into these beautiful pieces. Now I look in the mirror and smile with confidence. Something that was missing before Newton Dental Associates. I am glad to be a patient for general dentistry after my orthodontic and cosmetic work with them. I would give zero stars if I could. Bullying and gaslighting were the prominent features of my daughter's visit. They took xrays she didn't want, forced her to give her dental insurance information, and then when she called back to complain she was told that it was standard practice to do this. Since she has already had a consultation with an Invisalign specialist in New York who didn't do any of that, that is clearly untrue.

And they intend to charge us $400 in out of pocket costs if the insurance doesn't cover, which they will not. Newton Dental I am putting you on notice that I will NOT pay out of pocket and you should revisit your policies immediately. I do not go on Yelp lightly and we tried to resolve this issue directly with you, but you continued to pursue your bullying so this is our only recourse.

The dental cleaning with Annette was great as always. The office is using great equipment, providing a visual that is easy to understand. I am happy with the dental work but very unhappy with the way this office handles billing. They tend to overcharge, taking larger than necessary co-pays and then provide a credit for the future dental work (I had a $1000 credit on my account in the past and it took a lot of effort to get my money back).

I took two dental insurances this year to cover major dental work. My dental claims sent to Cigna are pending for months because Newton Dental doesn't provide the needed documentation on time. They also bill both insurances at the same time, even though one of the insurances may pay in full. As a result I am getting letters from the secondary insurance, who demands proofs of payment from the primary one.

It was really upsetting to learn recently that Newton Dental ended their contract with Delta Dental. I was asked to pay in full at the checkout and then wait for Delta Dental to pay me back directly once the office bills the insurance. Delta Dental is a large dental insurance in MA, this is the first time I hear that a dental office would not renew the contract with them. I am not sure I can now recommend this office to anyone.

Positive experience; the dentist was very thorough and clearly very experienced. Staff were nice too. Only criticism is the place is very noisy which is distracting, and there's not much privacy to where you're treated; if you're having dental work you'd probably want a quieter and more private setting.

I love Dr. Barik and her common sense way about her. She is clear and direct about expectations. I got an expedited Invisalign treatment at her office and a new implant crown for one of my front teeth. It's really tough to match the shade of just one front tooth. She did a fantastic job not only with the crown but also with suggestions for whitening. I have a perfect smile now, after 45 years of dealing with this front tooth. Thank you!

My hygienist was outstandingly thorough, knowledgeable, and friendly. After a deep cleaning, one of the dentists stopped by to check on me and my experience, briefly discussed possible issues with my hygienist, made some recommendations about going forward, and screened me for potential signs of oral cancer. They have the latest and greatest technology and treatment methods employed. Looking forward to bringing my kid to their new children-oriented office

I can't save enough about all the folks at Newton Dental. They always make me feel comfortable and the take the time to explain in detail, the procedure. Throughout the procedure they continue to check in with me to ensure I'm doing ok. I've gotten over my " dental anxiety ". Dr Wagner and Assistant ( sorry don't have her name ) are amazing!

They decided to suddenly unscheduled my appointment an hour prior to my appointment without letting me know and then said if I still wanted to come today I can see someone else who doesn't take my insurance so was going to end up paying for what was supposed to be a free consultation. If I wanted to see the dentist who I was supposed to see I had to wait until November. Are your kidding me?

I had rearranged my work schedule to be able to make this appointment and You just decided to unschedule my appointment because you felt like it?! It sure felt like a bait and switch to try to take my money. Complete lack of respect of people's time extremely unprofessional. Disappointed.

Dr. Wagner is fantastic! After the ER lost my 88 year old mom's dental prosthesis, we were able to get an appointment quickly and Dr. Wagner expedited her care. My mom's oral situation is complex and challenging, but, thanks to Dr. Wagner, she was able to walk out of her second appointment with a solution that enabled her to talk and eat again! Throughout the process, Dr. Wagner was gentle and compassionate towards my mom and really went above and beyond. We are so grateful for the good care my mom received at Newton Dental Associates.

I love this dentist! I always feel very taken care of and comfortable here. I've been a patient for two years and recently got my wisdom teeth out by Dr. Ilya Garibyan. I was super anxious about being sedated but the experience was so much better than i could have imagined. They helped me to calm down and had so much in place to make sure I was safe through the whole procedure. The recovery process was pretty easy too and I had minimal swelling and virtually no pain!

Dr. Berik managed my Invisalign treatment, and I can't imagine any other provider would've been more knowledgeable, effective, or reassuring! She always took the time to listen and explain. My treatment was fast but never rushed. I'm so happy with my results and will definitely recommend Dr. Berik to anyone interested in Invisalign!

I switched dentists due to a change in insurance. I'm switching back to my old dentist. I had an appointment for a teeth cleaning and a first visit with the dentist. Instead of a dental visit, it felt more like visiting a new car showroom. The person cleaning my teeth was very nice and did a good job but it was awkward because she really sounded like she was preprogrammed with answers.

Need lip balm during your visit? They have it in two flavors with their name stamped on it. You also might need additional fluoride because your mouth is dry- $60. The dentist was more like a car salesman. Very gimmicky and fake. You could tell the staff working with him were uncomfortable. He tried to sell me on Invisalign for $7,000 but couldn't tell me how long I would need to wear the Invisalign braces.

Part of the pricing for Invisalign is the length of treatment! All in all, more car dealership than dentist. They also couldn't bill my insurance correctly and in the mean time sent me a nice $500. My insurance had to call them and tell them where to submit the claim because they either didn't submit it and just sent me the bill or submitted it incorrectly. After a few weeks, they finally submitted the claim. I won't be going back. I've never had an experience like this at a dental office and hope to never again.

I have gone to Newton Dental several times for general cleaning and consultation. I never had a comfortable feeling about this practice. To be blunt, I felt as though was I dealing with a Used Car Salesman. It was all about sales, and the money. Patient Care was secondary priority. I am looking for a new dentist.

Although I was happy with the previous-expensive-invisalign, at visit in April i arrived for an annual exam which I had never had at that office. I was rushed out of the waiting room into the cleaning area where I was told I would see Dr. X - I thought this was odd, as my appt was with Dr. Berik, and did not think Dr. cleaned teeth They took my ins while I was in the chair with my mouth full. Afterwards they told me 1) They did not bill my ins. and I would be charged $130. 2) They made a mistake and scheduled me only for a cleaning and I would not be seeing the dentist as she was not in the building.

When I said I would never had agreed to this, I was told that "if I was concerned about money I should have asked" not sure when. During a review with AMEX, the office manager told them "I agreed to it" He also offered me a free 2d cleaning as the first was so rushed. Several mos have gone by with attempts to reach Dr. Berik for her opinion, but she is guarded by her staff.

I was even told that if I wrote a letter, it would probably not reach her. I will not be back as there are over 50 dentists in my area who do annuals for $0. When I went to my new dentist a thorough cleaning was done, but XRAYs which I was emailed and told were sent, were not available and upon calling the office the story changed and they said they did not have any XRAYs.

Very frustrating to pay $130 for nothing and not even be able to speak with the dentist, who is the one who should be making decisions regarding her practice. I would like a refund Regardless of what Dr. B says, this IS what happened. She would not know, as she is getting information from her office manager Scott, and the "Dr" who was really a hygienist who were the problem.

In the months that I tried to resolve this, I was never able to speak or communicate with her and no solution was ever offered. My name is Sally G, not that it makes a difference. Your office knows who I am. Some people like internet privacy, thus everyone goes by initials here. I do see good reviews, but a common theme among poorer ones is money issues, pushing products, not mentioning non-insurance coverage, not crediting accounts for products, services not delivered.

Perfection! If you're insecure about your smile, go see newton dental. Dr. Berik fixed my teeth and my confidence. Honestly, this place changed my life. I came in with a seriously messed up tooth situation and I had been told by multiple dentists/orthodontist that it was a really difficult case and it would take years to fix, I had basically given up. Then, day one with Dr. Berik and she told me not to worry, that this was an easy case for her.

A few months later, I have the most beautiful smile I could've ever hoped for. My teeth look amazing and natural, and I get compliments all the time, whereas before I never smiled in a photo.

I think they are good dentists but I also had an experience of them pushing an expensive tooth brush on me. I am sure if the other person who wanted to return the unopened box if they had bought the tooth brush at target they would have taken it back. with that said I have been going there for over 20 years and now I am looking for a new dentist. I was in the office the other day for maybe 8 min a quick peak and an xray $205 I was actually back in my car with in 8 min I need quite a bit of work and my dentist seems frustrated that I don't have $40,000 to give them.

I think he believes that if he says it with more urgency and frustration I will some how come up with the $40,000 it just makes me feel worse. I am not sure if all dentist charge the same rates but they seem especially expensive to the point I can not afford to go their any longer. The only payment plan is to pay half up front or at time of service. with the rates they charge $20,000 is nothing to them it is a lot to me.

And my dentist seems to be incapable of understanding that. after all the time I have spent going to them if they could not do the work you would think they might suggest other options I might even if it meant not seeing them for the work. I was loyal to them I do not feel it was returned

I recently had a sudden front crown fall out as I was driving, and was in a state of panic the previous night. Also 7 months pregnant. Dr. John Walsh and his assistant Luda @ Newton Dental took care of this the next morning immediately! Excellent service, in addition to the very friendly front staff, Sabrina and Claudia. I'm coming back for a clean and follow up next year.

Everyone was friendly and the cleaning went well but I was super pushed to buy an expensive toothbrush I did not want. I went back to the offer today to return a completely unopened box for the toothbrush and they refused to take it back. I spoke to the manager and everything!

The dental work my family has received from Newton Dental has been ok. Being billed $670 for a night guard that was NEVER MADE, OR EVEN FITTED, is a big problem. Having that happen for six months despite providing written notification to the practice and separately to staff within that practice is poor administrative management. Sending a statement to my insurer for work that was never done is what? Fraud? Update to Dr. Berik's response - we were NEVER contacted about anything, despite phone calls and multiple emails over a period of 8 months.

That is a flat out lie. The only response I got from the office was after I posted this review. Before that, only statements. Even my insurance company said they requested more information and the office failed to provide it. So judge for yourselves.

They did not share that they are a premier provider and therefore delta dental does not fully cover their services, so expect a bill. Also, the cleaning was very rough. My husband who is on a blood thinner had bleeding in his gums for three days after the visit. I do not advise anyone to go to this establishment.

Doesn't get better than this. For all your dental needs, Newton Dental is worth the trip. I've been coming here since childhood, and have gone out of my way from wherever I've lived across the city and country to get there consistently. They're clean, they always run on time, and they're great professionals.

Last year, I knew it was time for a new dentist after my previous office left me alone in a room with the Zoom treatment on the 5th cycle and I was in so much pain and no one could be found. I did a lot of research before deciding to go to have a consultation with Dr. Berik and I have never looked back. She is a great listener and really takes the time to explain everything. I am so glad that I prioritized finding a new dentist and I know I am in the best hands!

This review is for Dr. Kyros and his assistant. I had my first ever root canal here the other day and they were highly professional and helpful. I felt very comfortable and relaxed the entire time, and had no pain during or after the procedure. Specifically, I appreciate the way that Dr. Kyros takes time to explain everything and makes room for questions.

I absolutely love Newton Dental! I've been a patient practically since birth and decided to stick with them while I'm in college in the area. Dr. Berik and the rest of the office have been nothing but accommodating, and her work is absolute perfection. She will keep you in the chair until your smile is beautiful--not a moment less! The hygienists are all wonderful (though I should recommend Deb, she's very thorough and manages to not massacre your gums). I've also had a root canal at this location and found it a surprisingly painless experience. Additionally, they have great plans and discounts for those who are uninsured (like me)!

I have been visiting this practice since 1986! I even kept them while I lived in London for several years. Dr Berik is thoughtful, professional and warm. You feel like you are visiting with a good friend. They have been great with my husband and children as well.and one of my kids is not good with anything medical. They are always calm, patient and helpful when he panics.

Unfortunately I cannot rate higher than 5 stars here :P Newton Dental Associates has been a god-send to my wife and I. For myself I discovered the practice after a long spell of horrible dental experiences in the military. I had two major dental incidents that required a root canal/crown and implant. Both procedures were done flawlessly with NO post procedure discomfort. I've seen Dr's Berik, Rellas, Javer, and Walsh and I cannot praise them highly enough.

Each is an expert in their respective specialties. The hygienists are also top quality and their service is just as important as it is preventative. Usually see Ashley and she is excellent, courteous, with just enough humor to take the edge off of, well, being at the dentist :P After my initial experiences I pulled my wife into the practice as now I know how a top-notch dental practice should function. My wife has recently completed an invisalign and she is ecstatic with the results.

This dentist came highly recommended and I will be the first to say it was a great experience! The receptionists and hygienist were very nice and thorough. Dr. Walsh was efficient, nice, and answered my silly questions. My teeth feel super smooth and clean and I was in and out in less than an hour as a new patient. Facility is very clean. Spotless in fact. Highly recommended!

I have been having my teeth cleaned and rebuilt from the ground up here for over 20 years. Thanks to my Moms, I have crazy bad teeth (read: 3 root canals, many crowns and more cavities than years on this earth, ) but I trust no one more than Dr. Rellas and the staff at Newton Dental. I often have Tia for cleanings and she is the most charming and disarming medical professional ever - I'm terrified of dentists, like most people I guess, but she always puts me at ease. Dr. Rellas does amazing work and has a great sense of humor, and the office staff is always pleasant and on-point with their scheduling, billing and reminders. It's a well-run operation with great people every step of the way. I travel from NYC back to Boston for any and all of my dental work and cleanings. Highly recommended!
