Today, I had an AMAZING experience with my first phase of braces. Everyone was nice, welcoming, and most of all, the office was very clean. I was properly educated on both Invisalign and Braces which, made my decision easier. Dr. Naidu and his staff is amazing! Referring my family members now.

I am excited to see my daughter so happy. Dr. Naidu has done wonders for her teeth. She was told she needed implants and would be eligible at age 16. I found Dr. Naidu info in the Sports And Activity book. Dr. Naidu is very thorough and really cares and always greets us and everyone. My daughter teeth is corrected and doesn't need implants (miracle). Dr. Naidu is so professional, and caring.

I wish my daughter could have finished her orthodontic treatment with Naidu. We had to abruptly move to Michigan for a family emergency and I definitely see the difference between their service and her current service. Staff was very friendly, professional and knowledgable. Kathleen especially made me feel very comfortable and took the time to explain and answer all questions I had. Excellent service all around! From the friendly and inviting faces at the front desk to the awesome work and dedication that goes on in the back. This is the only place I recommend to my friends and family for orthodontics services.

I was a patient of Dr Naidu's back in 2012. When I went back two years later, I was still extremely impressed by how nice their staff were and how personable Dr. Naidu was. I couldn't say enough good things about them and I recommended many many people to them. However, what occurred a couple weeks ago left a sour taste in my mouth. I am extremely disappointed at how they choose to operate especially when I'm a loyal returning client and this is how they treat me? I'll never recommend anyone to go there again. I'm embarrassed to have even recommended people and hope they didn't experience the same thing I just did.

I contacted the office because the permanent retainer that they placed for me in 2014 broke. The receptionist explained to me that because I haven't been there in over a year, there would be a $110 consultation fee and it'll be $350 to replace the retainer. So I began to explain to her that I have insurance that covers for the replacement of the permanent retainer and also the consultation fee.

She then told me she will relay the message to her insurance coordinator. The coordinator called me back and I explained the above to her. I even went ahead as to do the leg work for them. I called my insurance, confirmed they were an in network provider and explained to her my benefits. Through my insurance, I'm entitled to a contracted discount rate for both the consultation and the retainer replacement.

Out of that rate, I'm responsible for 50%. I even got them the appropriate billing codes so they can submit the claim. After I explained this to the insurance coordinator, she explained to me that they usually don't submit claims to insurance for retainer replacements because insurance usually doesn't cover it. So now, I'm just confused.

I just explained to her that my insurance DOES cover it and even provided the billing codes for her. It's starting to sound like they just don't want to submit the claim. She then said she will speak to her office manager to confirm. I call my insurance company once again to make sure I'm clear on the whole billing process and my insurance explained to me that the provider can choose to have me pay my part of the bill and submit the claim to the insurance after treatment for the rest of the bill or they can have me pay in full at the discounted rate and then submit the claim and reimburse me what the insurance pays for.

But at no point are they allowed to charge me anymore than the discounted rate. Their insurance coordinator called me back and told me she explained everything I said to the office manager and attempted to advocate for me in this situation but to no avail. She said that I must pay out of pocket up front and they can submit the claim to the insurance and reimburse me or I can submit the claim myself.

So I asked if I paid out of pocket, will I be charged at the discounted rate or the full price. And the response was full price! I was IN SHOCK! I know my insurance said they can't charge me more than what the contracted rate is, yet they want me to pay the full price just like an uninsured patient. After some further digging in trying to get a full understanding, she finally admitted that the reason why they don't submit the claim through the insurance is because the insurance doesn't pay enough. SO HOW IS THIS MY FAULT AND HOW DID IT BECOME MY PROBLEM?

Why are they contracted with my insurance for these treatments anyway? I was then told the insurance is mainly for people who receives a full orthodontic treatment. So basically because what I need is so minor, they are refusing to accept my insurance that they ARE contracted with. And even though I have insurance, they want me to pay full price out of pocket, totally disregarding the fact that my insurance covers what I need done.

How is that fair, especially because I'm one of their returning clients? They took my $5000 + for my braces and now they won't fix my retainer through my insurance bc it pays too little. I have never experienced such a thing. I can't believe their office can operate in such a way. Needless to say, I will not be returning. At this point, I will be willing to pay more to go elsewhere than to go back to them. I'm disgusted with how they discriminate against a patient because what I need done is not profitable enough for them!
