A regular cleaning, called a Prophy, is provided in the presence of healthy oral tissues and is considered a preventative removal of plaque and tartar deposits mostly above the gumline. A Prophy is recommended every 6 months to prevent gum disease. If plaque and tartar are not professionally removed twice a year, it will continue to build up and spread below the gum line causing inflammation of soft tissues and the loss of bone structure around the teeth. This is periodontal disease, commonly known as gum disease.
Crowns are full coverage restorations that are used to cover a tooth that is likely to break or is too broken down to be restored with a filling. They are most commonly done after root canal treatment, or when a large filling wears out. The larger the hole made by a cavity that has to be treated, the more likely a crown will be needed.

This used to be my go to dental office but never again. I called to schedule an appointment for a cleaning and was told that because I'm 31 my insurance didn't cover it. That was a lie. I called another dental office and was accepted and had my cleaning done. I guess this place is like the rest of Thomasville and no longer wants to bother with us "lower class" citizens.

Staff was nice and professional, however when I came here in 2021 for a cleaning I was told I had six small cavities. Since I now have top notch dental insurance, I decided to go for a second opinion at a different dentist office out of town. When I went to the dentist office out of town for the second opinion, I was told that I only had one cavity and that the other five were only stains on my teeth not cavities.
Approximately nine years ago, I came to A Confident Smile for a cleaning and was told that I had nine small cavities, I had all nine cavities filled at this office, but now I'm wondering if I really had nine cavities back then or if they drilled holes in perfectly healthy teeth that were only stained.

My daughter had the worst experience yesterday with her Doctor. When her appointment was over she got in the car almost in tears because she said the Doctor she had was rough in her mouth. She showed me her gums they were completely swollen and red looking. She even stated to me that she told the nurse "You hurting my gums can you please stop" She said the Dr. Told her "I'm not hurting your gums, you okay" I tried calling back after I had pulled off, but nobody wouldn't answer the phone. Currently working on my kids on another Dentist.

I absolutely love Confident Smile! Mrs. Lisa was a absolute delight throughout my procedure. I'm usually nervous when visiting the dentist but the second I walked to the back with Lisa, I was instantly relaxed. She has such a bubbly personality and is very sweet. If I could give a higher amount of stars I would because my visit was just wonderful!

If you are in a need of a root canal and great service I highly recommend Dr. Garcia at A Confident Smile! I had not one but two root canals recently and I experienced absolutely no pain during the procedure (only used numbing shots) or after. Dr. Garcia was very personable and provided excellent service. The staff made sure I was comfortable and aware of what was occurring the entire time, which made the whole visit as enjoyable as possible.for a root canal.
