Oral Facial & Implant Specialists has more than 50 years of combined experience and rest assured that our Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons have received the necessary specialized training and qualifications to serve the residents of Illinois Northwest suburbs. After a person becomes a dentist, an additional 4-6 years is required in order to become an Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon.
Our surgical practice welcomes all new patients as well as patients that have been referred to us. Upon your first visit, you will meet with either Dr. J. Travis Thompson or Dr. Stephen Martin. They will thoroughly review your diagnosis and explain in detail all of your treatment options with you, as well as walk you through what to expect during the day of your surgery, how to plan for your surgery as well as post-operative care.
Dental implants are titanium posts that are surgically affixed to the jawbone. The benefit of implants is that they will not come loose since they are a permanent fixture in the mouth, unlike dentures or fake teeth that can come loose. Dental implants however need to be supported by healthy gum tissue and bone for them to be effective.

One of the best doctor appointments I've ever had! One of my biggest thing is when a doctor is on time and sure enough the staff and doctors were! They had fresh coffee, tea, and cookies in the waiting room. There was also a beautiful view overlooking a pond in the operation rooms that I could look out to calm my nerves. If you are looking for an Oral surgeon, this is the place to go, I would even recommend my 90 year old grandma here!

I had a wonderful experience at Oral Facial & Implant Specialists! Everyone was very kind and the technicians were very thorough. Dr. Martin removed 2 teeth, and provided a bone graft and screw for an implant. He was very gentle and I had absolutely no pain during the procedures or afterwords either. Dr. Martin even fitted my flipper for me. I can't recommend this this business enough.
I had this done a week ago, and have a follow up appointment on Monday. In 4 months I'm expecting a new crown and a partial denture form my dentist. I'll be back for two molar implants once the other work is completed. You can't go wrong at Oral Facial and Implant Specialists!

Updating my review from a 5 star to an even better 5 star! I had five teeth removed total - all four wisdom teeth and a molar - and a dental implant placed. Dr. Thompson and the whole staff have been so professional and excellent through this whole process, receptive to questions and concerns and the experience was as pain free as it could possibly be.
While I am glad to be fixed up, it's almost bittersweet to be done working with this crew because they've just been great. If I ever need more work done they are my #1 choice by far.

Great experience from start to finish. Everyone from the entire staff was so warm and welcoming and I cannot say enough about Dr. Thompson and Monica, they were awesome. I had a strange growing wisdom tooth extraction and they explained everything that they were doing and I had absolutely zero pain throughout the procedure and their kind, sincere bedside manner made me completely relaxed. I will definitely recommend!

It is my complete pleasure to recommend Oral Facial and Implant Specialists in Deer Park. After being up all night with horrible pain in my mouth, Karolina at the front desk recognized my dire need for attention and was able to fit me in right away. When I arrived I was very much impressed with the cleanliness of the office and the precautions that have been put in place to ensure safety for the patients and staff.
I was greeted by Laura who assisted me with all of the necessary paperwork to complete. She explained everything well and made sure that there were no issues with the process. To continue, during my visit I was taken care of very well by Lena who was very attentive and made the process of taking the X-rays easy as well as caring for and providing me with comfort during the tooth extraction. Moreover, I was seen by Dr Thompson whom made me feel very comfortable as he was very sympathetic towards me and was able to seamlessly put me at ease during the entire process.
He is a very knowledgeable and skilled surgeon. Finally, I was given an antibiotic and pain medication as well as given a thorough explanation as to what I will be expecting and they made sure that I understood how to take the medications and the importance of taking the antibiotic after my surgery. The entire visit was smooth and I felt very much reassured and safe while in the office. I would recommend Dr. Thompson and his staff to anyone looking for excellent service and care.

Everyone was exceptional from the time I walked in the door until I left. I was very nervous prior to going but left with a great experience. Just completed an implant procedure for replacement of two front teeth. Dr. Martin, the surgical team and entire staff at Oral Facial & Implant Specialists were fantastic. They were clear with all communications, procedures, financial options and made me feel very comfortable with taking the next steps I needed to with my teeth. They also were so kind to send a nice little bouquet of flowers after my procedure which I have never had any Dr. & team do something so thoughtful. I highly recommend Dr. Martin and team. They are fantastic.

I was extremely impressed with Oral Facial and Implant Specialists. Dr. Thompson was professional and extremely knowledgeable but most importantly, he put me at ease. I had a consultation on Thursday and a biopsy surgery the next day. His assistants were genuine in their concern, and Amy checked me out with ease and expertise. I would highly recommend this office!
