I am delighted to have discovered Dr. Sutton at Sonoma Smiles! The cleaning was meticulous and comfortable, and the doctor was transparent about my treatment. I appreciate that he provides in-house plans for individuals without insurance, like myself. I am eager to continue receiving dental care from Sonoma Smiles for as long as possible.

I had a really great first appointment with Dr. Sutton. I expected everything would be stressful and not enjoyable, and that I would be given nothing but bad news.
This was not the case at all. I learned a lot more about my own dental situation, and was given a very good attitude about moving forward with all of the dental issues I have. Additionally, Dr. Sutton explained potential options for my treatment plan that I never even thought would be possible for me. He was professional, kind, and friendly.
There wasn’t a single negative thing I can even think of throughout my visit, and I look forward to continuing to work with Dr. Sutton, and the really amazing women who work with him. (And at both Santa Rosa AND Rohnert Park locations, all of the women who greeted me and I spoke with for quite a while, at both locations, were just another really amazing positive to my day)

I absolutely love this office and I am so glad to have them back!
I had to switch dental providers due to change in dental insurance but now I get to go back with them. It is so hard to find a dentist that truly listens to you or your concerns. I speak up on any questions I have, and they answer my questions with ease and provide any additional information to make sure I leave the office with no additional questions. The staff is super friendly, and kind and Dr. Sutton is super knowledgeable. They were so welcoming to my 2 kiddos as well.
I definitely recommend!

I have been going to Sonoma Smiles for over 12 years and I've had only great experiences. Their staff is always friendly and give great service. Suzie is an amazing hygienist, she is gentle and does a great job. The front desk staff is always friendly. Dr. Sutton is nice does great work (for reference I've had a filling, a crown repair post root canal and cosmetic braces), and he is into classic cars! I just met Dr. Sabo who seemed really nice. Can't go wrong with this office, I refer any who asks.

I had my initial appointment with Dr. Sutton for a major dental procedure. I was nervous about the appointment. Dr. Sutton 's kind & professional manner helped me to feel calm. He clearly explained the procedure with options. His dental assistant, Sarah, was also kind & professional. My great experience at Sonoma Smiles helped me to feel confident that the planned dental work will be done professionally & gently and that the results will make my smile beautiful!

This is a great dental office and both dentists are awesome! The hygienists are all wonderful. And you can tell everyone there has your best interests in mind. Friendly and thorough and very good at what they do. I used to live down the street from them so it was very convenient too. I moved to Santa Rosa 3 years ago and don't want to go anywhere else even though I could find a dentist closer to home and work. Finding a good dentist that you can trust and feel comfortable with is priceless. I highly recommend Sonoma Smiles and Dr. Sutton and Dr. Sabo. Thank you!

Some of the most wonderful customer service. I don't dread the dentist anymore because I am always treated so well. I feel heard and listened too if and when I have a problem or concern about my teeth. They make it very convenient for people without insurance to still get regular cleanings to keep up on health. Highly recommend :

I purchased 2 NTI night guards (for TMJ) from Dr. Sutton. One in 2010 and again in 2017 because the first one wore out. So to date I have worn an NTI night guard for 10 years. A friend of mine called in to get one as well and they were told that they stopped making them because they were making peoples teeth crooked and were causing other problems.
I looked at my teeth and noticed that have become distorted and are the shape of the NTI night guard itself. I had noticed this but didn't realize it was due to the night guard itself. Each night guard was approx $500. So after spending $1000 to get my teeth CROOKED I realized that now I need to get different type of night guard, one that Dr Sutton has replaced it with.
After doing a bit more research I see that there is a huge lawsuit for the very same problem. This is not something I am interested in. All I want is a night guard that won't make my teeth crooked! I called in to the office to ask to make an appointment for a new night guard and requested that it be complimentary since I'd spend so much money to get my teeth crooked!
Much to my disbelief I was told "No we won't give you a complimentary night guard. The night guard was FDA approved and we have no liability". So, ok, maybe you don't have any liability but just knowing my situation do you think he would do the RIGHT THING? Nope.he could care less. Go somewhere else people. In my opinion they don't care about their patients.

This is the BEST Dentist office in Sonoma County. I am 26 and have had some pretty bad dental experiences. So I'll say was very nervous to go back to a dentist after 8 years. But the people were are all so nice. With a very modern and up-to-date equipment. I actually almost fell asleep during my cleaning due to Brenda being so gentle. I would recommend this dentist before any of the 4 others I have experienced. It's awesome I've finally found my dentists! Thank you again!

I struggled with a mis diagnosis for three months until I was in excruciating pain and called Dr. Sutton on a Friday night during this pandemic. Dr. Sutton met me at the practice early the very next morning with the diagnosis of me needing a root canal. I have had 3 now and this was by far the easiest, pain free experience. Even his shots don't hurt!
I just returned for a crown and filling and I didn't feel a thing. Both times in the office I felt so relaxed because of his gentleness. He has the most gentle hands! Of course I was worried about seeing a dentist during the pandemic but he is extremely cautious and the office is taking extra precautions. I highly recommend seeing Dr. Sutton for any dental work from emergency to cosmetic.

I have been a patient of Dr. Sutton for a number of years and only have had great experiences with him. He is very knowledgeable, and excellent in his work. Last night a veneer popped off while I was eating dinner. I wrapped the veneer in a paper towel, and called the answering service (it was nightime), and asked for a call back as soon as the office staff came in at 7am.
It was for a front tooth, plus being Thanksgiving week, I needed it re-cemented ASAP. Linda, who runs the office (who I cannot say enough good things about) called me RIGHT at 7am as soon as she arrived. She went out of her way to get me in that day, and I was seen at 10:30 am. Dr. Sutton re-cemented the veneer back on in 5 minutes, and I was on my way. Excellent, well run business, and highly recommended!

I went to this dentist even though I'm not afraid to go to a dentist. I worked in a dental office for a year once many years ago (as a dental assistant.) At first I was pleased with the dentist and his staff & had 2 new crowns done. Then I had 1 crown on my lower left and 1 crown on my lower right that needed replacing. I was scheduled to have one crown done one day & the 2nd crown done the next day.
Both were the hardest chewing teeth.the tooth in front of my wisdom tooth on both sides.and that one side has a missing wisdom tooth. These are the teeth that use the most pressure when eating. And I got crowns that are handle the most pressure from chewing. From the first day I entered their office I notified them that I cannot take NSAID medications because it causes me severe medical problems.
I asked if I could be given some other medication for pain if needed. (I didn't tell them what medication because I had no idea what I should take) They assured me that would be possible but I never had to ask for any medication for after the procedures until I had a lower left and lower right tooth done within a two day period (new crowns.) I forgot to ask for medication before I left the office after the procedures (I was still numb) but soon found out that I was unable to chew, drink hot or cold fluids, or eat anything because of pain.
I took only one pill from a prior dentist that I had left over because I was in a lot of pain and because it was all I had. I called the office to ask for some kind of medication and that I would drive there to pick it up. Then I was told that I couldn't drive to their office to pick up a prescription because of the one pill.which didn't affect my ability to drive.
I suggested that my husband could drive me and they said no. They also were unwilling to send a prescription to my local pharmacy.even though I hadn't asked specifically for prescription medication. I was told to take NSAID medication. I reminded them that I had informed them that I have very severe negative consequences if I take NSAID medications and that I cannot take them.
I stated that the dentist promised me that some other kind of medication would be provided. Then things got real ugly fast. They treated me like I was a drug seeking drug addict, refused to give me anything for the pain, were very nasty, and the dentist wouldn't speak to me & left me in pain with no alternative for a week. I couldn't eat.
I don't drink alcohol, use pot or any drugs & never have abused medications and only use medication when absolutely necessary. It was HELL. This is a dentist that advertises that he sedates people who are afraid to go to a dentist and that he keeps patients as pain free as possible. I was never afraid of a dentist, never needed sedation but he did absolutely nothing to reduce my pain for even one day.
He refused to speak to me and I was treated like I was a heroin addict looking for a fix. Never go to this dentist if you have any medical condition and/or have negative side effects to some medications because they were willing to try to force me to use drugs that they knew could cause me serious medical problems rather than give me a prescription for a different kind of pain reliever.
I guess they don't care if they do you serious harm by giving you drugs that you shouldn't take or as an alternative, leave you in pain and unable to eat or drink for a week. Also, within the last few months I had to have another dentist replace one of the crowns that Sutton put in my mouth. The crown only lasted 2 1/2 years so I had to go through a lot of work in order to get the insurance company pay for the replacement (had to prove that the old crown was defective) because normally an insurance company won't pay to replace a crown that is less than 5 years old. Usually most crowns last around 10 years.

I have lived in Cotati now for 6 years. I tried two other dentist and was not happy. I found Dr. Sutton a few months ago, and must say that he and his staff have been the best by far. He fixed the damage by my prior dentist and replaced a bad crown that fits perfect now. I now have my daughter going here also. I highly recommend this place.

For many of us, going to the dentist, especially for a cleaning can be scary, painful, and stressful. My experience at Sonoma Smiles was the complete opposite. The staff is kind and talks you through each step. Dr. Sutton was thorough and made sure he was present with me and my concerns even though I knew he had many other patients. To top it all off, my cleaning was the most comfortable and painless experience of my life. Debbie, the hygienist, actually made me excited for my next cleaning in 6 months instead of making me want to postpone it for a year or two like usual! Wonderful place, Exquisite service!

I was impressed with the website and reviews for Dr. Sutton, and thought that I had found the dentist that I was looking for. I had a lot of dentist-anxiety prior to seeing him, so when I came in for something other than a cleaning (root planing after a really sucky mouth infection), we agreed on twilight sedation for me, where I would be conscious during the procedure but would remember nothing of it later.
Because I'd be loopy, I had my mom drive me to and from his office, but keep in mind, I was already nineteen at the time. I came to after he worked on my mouth, and they gave me some after-care stuff. When I was coherent enough to go over everything, I noticed that I had a sheet related to tooth extraction after care. Obviously a mistake, right?
I showed it to my mom, and she told me that, no, he came out at one point and insisted that one of my impacted wisdom teeth be removed immediately and that she could consent to it. So this dentist, who knew that I already had fear and trust issues, took out a tooth without asking a legal adult for consent! I wasn't thrilled with my mom either, but he is the professional and should know that it's not okay.
I also had come in with a major and pretty serious infection, and though my wisdom tooth was impacted, it was not infected and had nothing to do with the current problem. When I had to go to another dentist later that week, he was shocked to hear about it because creating an unnecessary open wound while fighting an infection isn't a good idea.
It took me a lot longer to recover and I had to redo the root planing because of my experience with this dentist. I am lucky to have found a new dentist who is sensitive to my fear and has helped me to trust him, but this experience did the exact opposite for me.

In December, 2009 I had to have all my upper seven teeth removed by an oral surgeon. I then needed to find a good Dentist to make me an upper plate. I went on the Internet and choose Dr. Wayne Sutton from his web site which suggested to me that he did custom fitting teeth. Sounded expensive but worth it to me. I made an appointment. I saw him but he wanted me to do implants and showed them to me.
I asked what does that cost? He answered it just starts at $10,000. I answered that cost more then a funeral, I can't afford that. I just want a plate so I can eat and talk. He seemed upset but said okay and proceeded to take my impressions. He charged me $3,878, and took my money that first day. His lab made a temporary plate in a week but my custom plate would take five months to make.
I was happy even though the temp. didn't fit well. Then I received my custom plate and it did not fit at all. I told him over and over that I could not eat or talk with it. Went back to him a total of twelve times and he just would not do anything to help me. He just kept saying that I had to just get use to them. He refused to have his lab remake them or return my money so I could go elsewhere. So, I had no choice but to take him to court.
Between Dr. Sutton's fee of $3,878 and the oral surgeon's $2,500 I have no more money to get teeth. Would I ever recommend this Dentist to anyone? NO, only if you want to part with your money and get no service or satisfaction. What did I receive for my money? Just pain and heartache.
