I love the field of orthodontics, because it allows me to have a major, positive impact on the lives of so many wonderful people. You speak to the world through your smile, and as an orthodontist, I have been given the opportunity to help create healthy, beautiful smiles. I'm a local man, having attended Bishop McNamara High School before enrolling at Howard University in Washington, DC.
My favorite part of my job is getting to know our patients, welcoming them into our orthodontic family, and building relationships with them. At the end of treatment, seeing the beautiful "Harmon Smile" we've created for them makes me smile right along with the person. As our practice manager, I make sure that each patient and their family feel like VIPs throughout the treatment process, and I am always here to help with whatever a patient might need in order to have a positive experience.I strive to ensure that our practice is delivering superior orthodontic care in a family-friendly environment.

Sadly, I am so disappointed in this practice. My daughter has been in her braces for nearly 4 years, after being told an estimated 1.5 to 2 years. Yes, Covid did slow the process, but everytime we go, it's "soon they are coming off". Yet, they are still on. She is now in college so I have to drive 45 min the day before an appt to pick her up, take her to the office (only to sit in the car for 45 min before she can go back), be told "next time", and then drive her 1.5 hours back to school.
It's exhausting and we still don't get clear answers. And I'm not sure about the record keeping, but as notes don't seem to be kept, when I call the office, the front staff has no clue of Dr Harmon's intentions. And you can't speak to him, so it's waiting an entire month until the next appointment to get answers to questions. I was recommended to this practice by a friend who's daughter had a great experience, and I was hoping for the same, but haven't seen it in 4 years. Just disappointing.

I tried my best to avoid leaving a not so great review after being referred by a few folks I know personally; however, things started off great and went downhill fast. The staff and Dr. Harmon are friendly; however, I believe Dr. Harmon is too busy to give the focus needed. I am going into year three with the last year wasted as the office focuses on getting as many clients as possible and getting the current ones in and out with no treatment plan insight. Appointments have been pushed out so far that my teeth have actually gotten worse than when I walked in the door.
When I express my concern of having to reverse what whatever was implemented the visit before each time (3 times) with appointments so far out and my teeth getting worse, I get told things are moving along. I walked In requiring a little adjusting and for the past year and a half trying to close space between my top row and bottom row. Each visit something is changed and the next visit told we need to reverse course.
I could be more patient if there was some discussion around a true plan instead of feeling like we are just winging it every session to get me out the door. At this point I almost wish I left my teeth alone as I am more disappointed now than when I walked in. Spending the amount of money I did, I'd like to know there is a plan and the plan is being worked.

Dr. Harmon office is a very family-oriented place to be at! Very reasonable prices and always felt welcome when I go in the back and get treated, we always talk about stuff and they help me out with my colors and etc. I understand that my treatment will push back because of covid, 8-10 weeks for an appointment is kinda pushing it. Overall this office is the place to be at!
Now I gave this place 3 stars because I recently came in and the lady that sits in the front that is lightskin always seems to have a attitude and never speaks. I always try to avoid her because she is a vibe downer and nobody likes to walk in and the first thing is head down and a quick look up and back on her phone she goes. I always go to the brownskin lady because she seems sweet and now helps me out every time.
I always remind myself to make an appt before I leave. It used to be another brownskin lady that work there and she used to be on point every time she needs to come back ASAP!

I'm writing this as I currently still have my braces on. Dr. Harmon and his staff are very nice, welcoming and polite. However, with the challenges of the pandemic and the intense number of clients he has, I've really felt ignored as a patient for the last 8 months. Scheduling clients every 8 weeks instead of 4 weeks has pushed my teeth progress back immensely.
When I do finally get to my appointments and I express concerns with my teeth, it seems as if they fall on deaf ears because Dr. Harmon is too busy to give real time and attention to his patients individually. I expressed concerns about my smile, and how my teeth were starting to gap, I was told by him "well we are in the middle of a pandemic". It was a very discouraging answer considering we are now a year in and I have no solid answers about my treatment plan, or if I'm even still on a plan after paying almost $5000.
I've now have my braces on for coming up on 3 years (it was supposed to be 22 months) and I have no end date in sight for my treatment, my teeth are becoming uneven again and my next appointment is still a whole month away. It sucks to have waited this long and to still not be satisfied with my smile. I love the atmosphere and Dr. Harmon's office, but I would not recommend this experience to anyone.

Dr. Harmon is the most professional, personal, knowledgeable and kind Dentist i have ever been to. He provided a stellar service to my son for braces. He was very attentive and patient with my son as this was my son's first time getting any extensive dental work. Dr, Harmon and his lovey wife Shonda, who assists in running the practice explained everything in such a professional way, they made sure my son saw all the videos of what to expect before the procedure and what to expect after the procedure so nothing was a surprise, even the discomfort of the braces, because we already knew what to expect from the great preparation.
I would recommend anyone looking for a personable, knowledgeable, kind Dentist, to look into Dr, . Hartman Orthodontics. We felt like family, not just like another patient, that's how the entire staff made us feel. I wish I could give them more stars because they are worth their weight in gold. I will be returning for all my families dentist needs and it's over 1.5 hours drive for me. Their stellar Dental services and excellent customer service can't be replaced!

I absolutely love coming into Dr. Harmon's office! I can honestly say I look forward to coming into his office every month. His staff is amazing. When you come in and the young lady I think his daughter greets me by my name and makes sure I get my appointments and everything is set before I go to the back or before I leave. When I walk into the back the lovely ladies always have good vibes and makes everybody feel welcomed and not nervous which I LOVE! Dr. Harmon you are amazing doctor and you have a lovely wife and staff.
Let's not forget Dr Harmon is a busy doctor but it's all worth it at the end. I would be referring patients to your office very soon! This is a very friendly office! I'm glad I made my investment to the right office! THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH!

I've been taking my daughter here for about 3 years. I have absolutely no complaints. The staff has always provided excellent customer service. And Dr. Harmon and his wife.always with their perfect smiles are there to address your concerns. My childs teeth look amazing and Dr. Harmon had her gums pushed up to reveal more of her teeth then gums. IWhen you have to visit a place like this so frequently it's good to be treated like family and that's the way I always feel here.

My son has been going to Dr Harmon for a couple of years and I couldn't be more happy that we chose him. The staff are very friendly and courteous but more importantly they're like one big happy family. They make you feel like you're apart of the family as well. If you're considering an Orthodontics, I definitely recommend Dr. Harmon.
