I first scheduled an appointment with Dr. Vitalie back in May 2016 because of TMJD symptoms I was suffering with (headaches, dizziness, severe jaw pain, ear and neck pain, etc.). At this point I was desperate for any help at all because these symptoms and the pain were interfering with my day to day functioning, and it was a struggle to even make it through work.
I was living with a heating pad on my jaw almost 24/7 and took ibuprofen daily for the migraines/headaches. The pain was unbearable! I didn't know if I would ever be able to care properly for my 3 year-old daughter or live a normal life. Dr. Vitalie is the person you want to see if you are suffering with TMJ issues! I cannot express this enough.
He is very well educated and trained to work with any TMJ problems you may have. I still cannot believe how lucky I am to have a TMJ specialist like him so close to where I live. At my first appointment he was able to get impressions of my teeth so that a special mouthpiece called an "orthodic" (similar to a night guard, but more fitted and specialized) could be made to wear 24/7 on my bottom teeth, which would help keep my bite in the correct position.
The orthodic was ready in about 3 weeks (if I remember correctly), and within 5 minutes of wearing it, my dizziness and headaches were gone. Over the next month, my jaw pain was reduced to almost no pain at all. It is a little expensive and difficult to talk at first with the orthodic in, but after a week or so, you get used to it.and worth every penny once your feel the relief from it!
In addition, after finding out that I was also having difficulty sleeping, Dr. Vitalie ordered me a home sleep study to see if I had sleep apnea. I was nervous about doing the sleep study by myself at home, but it was super easy to set up and use. It turned out that I did, in fact, suffer from sleep apnea, so last month I got impressions made for another mouth apparatus called a "MicrO2" to only be worn at night.
It is worn on the top and bottom teeth and basically holds your jaw forward and helps open up your airway while you're sleeping. LOVE LOVE LOVE my MicrO2! Worth every penny again and I am finally sleeping at night! I could also not express enough gratitude to all of the staff at Dr. Vitalie's office. Everyone was very friendly, kind, and helpful. I am now able to live a normal life and manage my TMJ symptoms. Thank you to Dr. Vitalie and thank you to all the staff, I am so grateful for everything!

I've been going to Dr. Vitalie's office since I was a kid, and after leaving the area for a few years, I realized how lucky I was. I've never had issues with any of the work I've had and he has the most competent staff in the area. I'm very surprised by the two previous reviews, perhaps they're not as familiar with how insurance providers work with dental practices, but I digress. I wouldn't trust something as important as dental work to anyone else.

Very nice office, the staff that I dealt with was great, very friendly. However, I felt like I was constantly being sold something. I went in to have some cleaning done and get some previous work repaired but left with a huge brochure on all kinds of other procedures that weren't covered by my insurance. I havent gone back, I don't like feeling pressured into buying things. It's one thing on a car lot, but not at the dentist. Fix my teeth, dont try to "up-sell" me.
