From routine cleanings, cosmetic dentistry and fillings to bruxism devices, Evergreen Dental Associates, LLC is equipped to handle all your family dental needs. Your comprehensive exam includes a visual examination, charting, periodontal probing, diagnosis and treatment recommendations. We will also take x-rays, which includes the panoramic x-ray for proper diagnosis of the anterior (front) and posterior (back) teeth as well as the bitewing x-ray series for proper diagnosis of proximal decay of posterior teeth.
It includes descriptions of our office location, including a map and directions, appointment scheduling, insurance acceptance and billing policies. We treat patients as guests in our homes. 2. We employ active listening and respect to keep communication open and positive. 3. We strive to perform to the best of our abilities and are always open to improving our skills.

There's also background information about our committed staff and our first visit procedures. You can also save some time by printing out and completing the patient forms in advance of your appointment.

Kelly my hygienist makes me feel like her best friend. She does a very thorough job cleaning my teeth. Kelly always puts me at ease, I am very nervous at the dentist. She is very knowledgeable and always is able to answer my questions. I have been with evergreen dentist for some 20 plus years all my children and now my grandchildren go to evergreen. If I could give 10stars I would. Like many people out there, I have had poor experiences in the past with dentists that led to procrastinating going to see an honest, trustworthy one. Fast forward to Peter Shumway who has all the wonderful attributes that we all desire, but add the extra sense of humor, gentle, and a man of Integrity! I always look forward to my visits at Evergreen Dental in Augusta, ME. They are an extremely professional staff and all are exceptionally very nice to work with and talk with. They listen to your concerns and act upon them to the best of their abilities. I highly recommend anyone to join this practice as a patient. Dr. Shumway is a character and I mean that in a good way.

Jess and Dr. Shumway are a well oiled machine. I just had a molar restored with a crown and the whole process was seamless. Jess has an incredible eye for matching crowns to natural teeth. Dr. Shumway used a laser to get the gums to heal well around the crown and it worked! You definitely feel like you're in good hands with these two.

My dental hygienist today was awesome. Her name is Corrine and I highly recommend her. She was very personable and very helpful and kind. Very easy going! I really enjoyed the dental surgeon doctor as well she was super nice and friendly and very personable! They are both very authentic and real and truly have a great professionalism and give great feedback and advice . I have been going there since I was a kid and continue to enjoy going there to be seen.

The people at Evergreen Dental are always very pleasant and happy to see you, it's find visiting family every time you go. My hygienist was very helpful she's weighing two things before she did them. We shared stories and laughs and we had a wonderful time, this is not like the dentist office of the pass. Looking forward to my next visit.

I have been going to Evergreen for almost 15 years. Dr. Shumway is incredible. He is very thorough and over all great at what he does. Gretchen was my X-ray tech in my last appointment and she was wonderful! It is always a quick in and out and I've only ever had a positive experience. Definitely the best dentist in Augusta!

1) If you're a new patient don't expect a cleaning until your 3rd visit, even if you've had regular twice yearly cleanings. 2) Don't have "family billing, " it's makes it easier to attempt to confuse patients. And don't sign a "treatment plan." 3) Know how to understand and be able to access your dental claims. You should know how to do this anyway, with all your health information, but it was especially helpful for me in doing business with Evergreen Dental. 4) We're not going back!

I started coming here earlier this year. I have dental insurance through state of maine. Below are a list of things I wish I knew up front. 1. They charge you to meet the dentist and develop a treatment plan. This was not covered by my insurance. I did not expect this, I figured meeting the dentist was part of the new patient procedure. 2. Quotes are not accurate. Always expect to pay more. 3. Tip: wait to receive your bill before scheduling additional appointments so you dont end up with a large balance.

My first appointment with Evergreen Dental was in April for a tooth with a visible cavity. $400 later- just for xrays and for them to look in my mouth, they have done absolutely NOTHING for me. I also had an emergency- terrible, excruciating tooth pain, the quickest they could get me in to be seen was 3 weeks. Trying to get an appointment is, pardon the pun, LIKE PULLING TEETH!
I will not be going back. They are overpriced, do not tell you up front what the cost will be (i have no dental insurance), and it takes months to get an appointment. And one weird thing they did- which unsettled me- when they were taking xrays- they photographed my face with spreaders holding my mouth open- like a horse being sold- very demeaning- i have been to numerous dentists all over the country and no dentist has ever done that before.

I saw Dr. Kilgore several years ago after having lived abroad for some time where I had extensive dental work. Upon my return to Maine I needed a dentist and filled him in on my history. He proceeded to terrify me by saying that almost everything would need to be redone and that my mouth was in terrible shape. I got a second opinion in Boston while visiting a friend.
The second dentist, and two subsequent dentist in Florida have told me that the work I'd had done overseas is some of the best they have ever seen! Dr. Kilgore is not to be trusted
