Dr. Richard Epstein is a family-friendly dentist, specializing in cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, and general dentistry. He is a Westport, Connecticut native, and has kept his practice here since 1984. Dr. Epstein holds his undergraduate degree from Brown University and his Doctorate in Dentistry from the University of Connecticut.

Medically speaking, our primary responsibility is to address the health and function of your mouth, because it effects the health of your entire body. Inflammation in the oral cavity, which can be controlled by proper home care and regular dental visits, has been linked to cardiovascular and heart disease, diabetes, pregnancy complications, and lowered resistance to many other diseases.

If you have had local anesthetic ("Novocain") the injection site will often be sore or feel swollen for a few days, but this will resolve on its own. If it persists, please make an appointment to let the Doctor examine it. Until full feeling has returned, do not eat anything, or drink anything but cold water, as you could bite or burn your cheek, lip or tongue without knowing it. Most fillings or new restorations on teeth need a few hours to set and don't reach full hardness for 24 hours, so be gentle the first day.
Richard Epstein's has moved his dental office to join Westport Dental Associates. He continues to stand by his philosophy of providing dental care in this community of highly educated consumers who require top-of-the-line professional expertise, yet expect to receive warm and attentive services. Dr. Epstein's has moved to 329 Riverside Avenue in Westport, about 5 minutes from his former office.

I've had pretty severe, and complex cosmetic dentistry issues and discovered Dr Epstein several years ago now. The results he is able to attain are absolutely remarkable. Extraordinary attention to detail, a great explainer / educator for me, a master craftsman, and importantly. as good at pain-avoidance as anyone I've ever worked with. Can't say enough good things about DrE and his team.

I highly recommend Dr. Epstein and his staff - they're the best! I've had extensive dental work throughout the years and it's been done well and carefully by Dr. Epstein. He's also helped me with referrals for work with other specialists. I travel from another county and would not go to anyone else. Suzann is great, gentle and thorough with cleanings, and always kind and patient. Angelica is a pleasure to work with - always helpful and cheerful. Mary Ann is wonderful and sweet, as well as thorough, and puts you at ease during procedures. They're all talented and great people. Many thanks to them!

Good dentists are hard to come by. On New Year's Day 2019, I had a severe tooth infection and Dr. Epstein came to my aid, even though I was NOT a current patient. I will never forget how he helped relieve the pain. The toothache had a silver lining as I now have a new dentist I love and feel comfortable with. Thank you Dr. Epstein!

I do not usually post reviews to Google, but am doing so in this case because Dr. Epstein and his staff did such an amazing job re-shaping the teeth I keep chipping and the teeth I should have fixed years ago into a smile and shape that I love. Dr. Epstein is an artist with his drill and dental tools, and an amazingly nice gentleman. His staff are all wonderful to interact with. 5 stars!

For several years I have been able to receive excellent care from Dr. Epstein and his stellar staff. They are competent, professional, caring people who treat me with respect and compassion. Dr. Epstein has had to do quite a bit of work, by the way, and my dental health is the best it has ever been. I look forward to seeing him and the staff, I know if I need to call with a concern I will get help right away.

I can't say enough nice things about Dr. Epstein's practice, or about the staff- Suzanne, Angelica and Maryanne. Everyone is so kind and makes a point to remember minute details about my family. They are really passionate about oral health, which has encouraged me to be more diligent in brushing, flossing and biannual check-ups. The best part about getting my teeth cleaned is that the office overlooks a beautiful garden with lots of bird and animal life. I would recommend Dr. Epstein to anyone in need of dental care.

My experience at Dr. Epsteins office has been nothing short of excellent. On all of my three visists I've had root canals. And I will always smile looking back. Richard and his amazing staff are not only top of their field professionals, they are straight up great people. My entire family feels confident, safe, and welcome with every visit. For us it is a huge relief knowing that Dr Epstein is not only our DMD, but in our lives in general.

Dr. Epstein is a wonderful dentist with an equally wonderful dental hygienist Suzanne and a cheerful, professional, attentive staff. My husband and I have always been extremely happy with his practice, but given how kids are really the worst critics, my two have been going to him since they are babies and actually look forward to their teeth cleanings. My daughter actually wants to be a dentist and it is her experience all these years with Dr. Epstein that I credit this to.
