Going to the dentist used to be a very uncomfortable experience that I never looked forward too which lead to neglect of my dental hygiene in general. Until I met Dr. Ian Fessler, he is a very skilled and professional and I always am at ease when he is doing my dental work. I have the outmost confidence in him and his track record speaks for itself. I am so thankful for Dr. Fessler and I highly recommend him.

I've been going here for years, but today was my first procedure with Dr. Fessler. He was gentle, calm, and communicative during the whole process. His dental assistant, Rhonda, was also excellent, answering my many questions and noticing as soon as I needed suction. Great place to go for things that tend not to be very fun!

I had broken a tooth and needed an urgent appt My dentist for over 20 years retired and I was very anxious about a new dentist with an urgent issue. The office fit me in the next day. I saw a new dentist, Dr McDuffee. With my history of severe dental anxiety I was a nervous wreck. Dr McDuffee and Angie the dental asst went above and beyond to make me comfortable. They were calm and very patient with me and my dental anxiety. The dentist called that evening to check on how I was feeling after the procedure. Above and beyond service.

Dr Fessler, who runs Gillis Dental in Needham, is wonderful. He is bright, warm and friendly on top of being skillful. His office is attractive, clean and easily accessible with free parking right out front. I highly recommend Dr Fessler's dental practice.

Wonderful staff, very friendly and helpful. The dentists are top notch and you can tell they really care about their patients! Trey the office manager is a great asset to the office.

Going as a new patient was very easy; they had my insurance figured out before I arrived. Front desk was awesome and friendly. Doctor and back staff matched the energy of the front staff. Dr Fess did a filling on one of my lower back teeth. Great overall experience.

Absolutely amazing staff at this office. Tre, Elizabeth and Rami make me feel right at home! And the energy coupled with the enthusiasm and warmth makes going to the dentist a pleasure! Thank you all. The hygienists are all amazing too. The assistants are top notch as well! It's such a busy place that somehow also makes you feel like you are the only one there too! The worst visit to the dentist ever, especially as a new patients with insurance. All because the office staff did not understand the insurance and the booking system. It was so unnecessary but may be because it is relatively new in the gentle dental system. I would never return. It is tough enough to go to the dentist without the incompetence of the office staff. I hope they can improve but good luck to all the patients going there!

The transition from Dr. Gillis' Needham office to corporate chain, 42 North Dental has been a challenge. Dr. Fessler, the hygienists, and dental care are great. However, the people the corporate chain put in the front office need training on dental billing, customer service, and the patient experience. Our recent experience with Montre, "the office manager" was unacceptable.

He demanded payment for service from a dependent on our family plan prior to billing our insurance, reviewed family account services and confidential information with our dependent and then asked him to pay a balance for his parent. All that followed by a request for a great Google review stating "the corporate office makes us ask for reviews." When I phoned to question this experience, the responses were inappropriate, unprofessional, and appalling.

When I asked to speak to someone higher up, I was told it was a regional manager who is on the road, and he could not give out her information. So in response to a demand for a Google review, here it is. Please ensure the people at the front desk represent the culture, care, and service the dental practice wants to extend to their patients who have been loyal for decades, trust in your care, refer new patients to, and expect to be treated when they walk into a dental office.

Keep in mind going to the dentist is not an experience most people get excited about to begin with and then having to navigate poor administration by unknown people hiding behind a corporate chain is so disappointing. Sad to write this, but in the hopes it improves.

Was nervous when Dr Gillis sold business. Totally happy with Dr Fessler and crew. Having. A crown done and couldn't be a better experience.

What fun it was being back once again at the office seeing the old staff and welcoming some new. We feel so grateful to have retired while leaving this wonderful crew in the most capable hands of Dr. Ian Fessler. Dr. Gillis and I absolutely think the world of Ian. He is a kind, caring, trustworthy individual and also a great clinician. A special thank you to Helen, my hygienist, today. Fabulous as always. I'll look forward to seeing you all next visit.

I am a new patient, and I had a great first experience today. The front office staff was very helpful in getting me set up for my visit, and everyone there was friendly and welcoming. The hygienist and dentist were professional and clearly communicated areas of concern without making me feel any shame, and before I left the office I was able to schedule my follow visit next month to start addressing those issues.

The Gillis Team has done a great job. Dr. Fessler is so pleasant and friendly. He gave me the best advise on my teeth and helped me through the entire procedure with an understanding and patience. My hygienist is determined and the best! She gets the job done They are a fabulous team and a great Dental place to go!

Rosie the hygienist made me feel so comfortable. I usually have to have my whole mouth numbed with novocane to have my teeth cleaned, but Rosie helped relax me and it did the trick. I highly recommend Gillis Dental!

Couldn't be happier with Dr. Fessler and his team at Gillis Dental. My kids loved going and are proud to be part of "The No Cavity Club", photos on the wall! From the personal attention and the smiles of the staff it made for an enjoyable visit. Wish all doctor visits were this seamless.

An excellent clinical crew (today, Angela & Dr. Hanson) backed up with incredible front office support. They're on time, efficient with updating records & making appointments, super friendly & relaxed, and responsive to questions and knowledgeable. Always happy to go here on a regular basis & not worry about dental problems.

As much as I have a fear of the dentist since I was a child, that's not completely the case when I'm at Gillis Dental. They know that this is a problem for me and they go over and above to make me feel at ease. From the minute I walked in, Lauren of the front desk staff was welcoming. Then Helen, who was my hygienist was sympathetic to my fears of pain even when getting my teeth cleaned.

She was kind, professional and helpful. Then Dr. Hanson checked my teeth and gave me the bad news that I had a few cavities but she assured me that on my next visit to have them filled that it would be done as painlessly as possible. I know I'm in the best of hands with each staff person and professional at Gillis Dental.

They are always up on latest technology. Best ever with kids!

This dentist took my insurance card, mishandled my paperwork, didn't get reimbursed by the insurance company, charged me $375 to take Xrays it decided it needed (did not ask me), did not solve the problem I went to see them for, then attached my credit and hurt my credit rating. Shysters. I have never not paid a legit medical bill and been without insurance.

We switched to this office after a friend's recommendation. They have evening office hours which is great! Their office staff is very helpful & the dentists are kind, courteous, take time with you & are very gentle when you are numbed if having work done. I'm so glad I switched dentists to Gillis & partners!

I had the misfortune of chipping my front tooth last Thursday, it was horrifying to look in the mirror and more horrifying to think of having to go to a dentist - as I have a dental anxiety. My own dentist was away, so my sister suggested I go to hers in Needham. She called the office and explained my dilemma to Cate and then I spoke to her too. She was very kind and comforting and between her and Lauren we made multiple calls to secure my xrays were being forwarded to the office and for me to get an appointment with Dr Hanson.

For me, having a woman dentist is key. She assured me that if I had any anxiety during the exam or during the patching that I only needed to raise my hand and she would stop. And she is like a skilled artist. she patched my tooth perfectly, I can't believe my eyes, there is not a sign that there was a gap missing in my tooth. I feel very grateful that I was able to have my appointment with Dr Hanson The office is very welcoming.

The staff is very professional and friendly. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is that a cleaning and exam is rather high in price for those of us that don't have dental insurance. In regards to the cleaning, Ashley was the hygienist and she did a fantastic job.

Dr. Gillis is wonderful, but I am not a fan of Dr. Hanson. Dr. Hanson lacks a bedside manner and you can hear a hint of annoyance from her when you explain that you cannot afford a custom bite guard. In terms of the hygenists, many are friendly and make you feel welcome, but often on Saturdays they tend to be rough and less friendly.
