The office was established in 1968. Dr. Andrea Sweazy-Grammel has worked here since 1995 and her husband, Dr. David Grammel, has worked here since 1997. We are very proud of our capable staff at Canal Family Dentistry. They bring many years of quality dental experience to our office, as well as friendly service. They will be happy to assist you with any of your dental needs. Our patients and their families will be treated with respect, care and the same consideration that we want for ourselves and our own families.
Services
We have tried to maintain Canal Family Dentistry, Inc. as an up-to-date office. Originally built in 1968, we added on and modified in 2003 to better serve our patients. We are pleased to offer digital X-rays, nitrous oxide for comfort and the wand for numbing. Our patients can comfortably watch cable TV, surf the Net, listen to music of their choice or bring in a DVD to view. Please ask to see our sterilization center. The safety and health of our patients are our primary concern.
Our office evaluates new materials, techniques and equipment regularly to ensure our patients get the best treatment available. We have invested in a new computer controlled anesthetic delivery system called The WANDA. This system allows us to administer a virtually pain-free injection because it automatically controls the flow and volume of anesthetic and delivers it at a very slow rate below the threshold of pain. It also delivers a drop of anesthetic ahead of the needle so an anesthetic pathway is created, further reducing any discomfort.

The best dental experiences I have ever had over the past 25 years have come from Canal Family Dentistry! I have been to many different dentists many different times over the last 25 years due to not only chronic dental needs but also because of moving, traveling, etc. Canal Family has been by far the best dental office I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with due to the following; Friendliness, cleanliness, kindness, attitude, patient comfort, professionalism, and most recently.understanding the patient's individual dental problem and going absolutely out of their way to solve it as soon as possible. I am proud to say I am now a patient for life no matter where I live. Thank you for everything Canal Family!

I have been going here for almost twenty years now, and I really love this dentist. I've tried other dentists after moving to Columbus, but I've found I prefer to drive the half hour to Canal! They have always been so kind and helpful with our family. They also tell you up front how much everything costs and explain the pros and cons of different options.
We just went today because my son had a bad toothache. I was nervous to leave the house during the pandemic but I was so happy with how safe everything was- all staff are wearing masks and they take everyone's temperature and have them fill out a risk questionnaire. Thank you for keeping us safe, Canal Family Dentistry!

I don't understand all the negative reviews. I've been a patient now for a year and enjoy my visits. I go twice a year for cleanings. The hygienists make me laugh and they get the job done. I've never had an issue with appointments like some of the reviews say. I've had cavities before and no they are not enjoyable. But how is any place going to make them enjoyable? :- I'm happy with them overall at least.

I wouldn't even give one star. My whole family and I were patients there for years. The office has gone down hill over the past few years. The dental hygienist are very rude. My daughter left in tears because one of them screamed at her for not doing something right. That was the last straw. We left the practice and will never return. Scheduling and getting a timely appointment is impossible. If you are looking for a new dentist keeping on looking.

Been going to this office for years and it seems to be worse every time I go. The only good thing about this office is that it's very clean and nice. The dental hygienists are rude and extremely rough on your mouth. I've had dental procedures done without receiving enough novacaine beforehand and they have completely ruined my bite because they file my teeth every time I'm there. I do NOT recommend this office for anyone looking for a new dentist.
