Genesis Dental - K John Armstrong

I've been a patient at Genesis Dental for about 7 years now, and I wouldn't want to go anywhere else! The primary reason for this is Eric, my dental hygienist. He is meticulous, genuine, and always answers my stupid questions with a smile on his face. I actually look forward to going twice a year to the dentist so that I can see Eric. He's amazing at what he does and as a plus is a great person to talk to. I've seen a few providers here over the years but my longest has been Dr. Fultz who is also great.

He has a nice bedside manor and is always happy to answer any questions I have. My only slight against this office is they have not always had the best office staff. For the past few years they have been pretty good, but historically there have been a few less than awesome ones that my husband has had issues with on scheduling. And I know they have a few offices and he has gotten work done at all of them, so it might not even be the Taylorsville staff that he has had issues with.

However I don't think this is uncommon with front desk type jobs to run into some unfortunate people. But they have a really solid team now and have for a while, so really no complaints here! It's in a convenient place near the freeway and they also get you in and out efficiently. They nearly always double check your insurance before you come in which I find to be super professional and ahead of the game.

It prevents issues of your health insuranceu coverage when you are there for your appointment which I really appreciate. I'll continue going to Genesis and will bring my eventual kids here too

Outstanding experience. I needed the top retainer glued back on and Genesis Dental's wonderful staff fit us in schedule the same day, it was a fair price, and they were very friendly. I was in, out, and done quickly. I would recommend them in a heartbeat.

Edit: The owner of Genesis contacted me and helped me negotiate with their SLC office, we came to an agreement in the end. I appreciate that he was understanding and tried his best to help. I do believe that you'll be treated nicely here like most people, as long as you are not unlucky enough to have a dental accident happen to you, but if an accident does happen, you should not expect them to make it up to you.

I had a dental cleaning here last year in November which involved anesthesia, it has been over 5 months now and my tongue still has not fully recovered from it. I understand that accidents can happen during dental treatments so I didn't really want to blame the people there too much as long as they tried to be responsible, I even said this to the hygienist, but all she did was laugh while repeating my words as if she didn't even think she should be blamed at all.

During these months they have only called to check in twice, and only in the first 2 weeks. The rest of the time it was all me calling them after all the long wait, and every time I wanted a date about when it will recover and what they would do after that, I get an ambiguous answer, the first time they told me to wait a couple of weeks and it'll be okay, next time maybe a couple more weeks.

There was one time that they told me about an oral surgeon who might be able to take a look, but when I asked the Genesis hygienist that treated me about who would be responsible for the cost, she just said "do you have insurance?". A lot more happened after that, fake promises, empty apologies. but my review would be hidden if it gets too long, overall it was a really disappointing experience.

All of the staff who work here are kind and have been gentle when working on my teeth. Dr. Boyack is pretty amazing, he is gentle and explains things well. I'm so glad a friend suggested him They are very prompt and generally can take me back within minutes of arriving for my appt. I have recommended Dr. Boyack to family and friends and will continue to do so.

Dr. Ho and the staff are all efficient, courteous, and they even laughed at my jokes! The dental office is accessible and the equipment is modern. Overall, a very positive experience.

Genesis Dental of Salt Lake is an amazing dental office. They are all so kind and make going to the dentist an easy experience. As soon as I walked in the door, I was greeted by Michelle, working at the front desk, who was very polite and let them know I was there right away to get my appointment started. Anastasia, an assistant, got right to work and had my x-rays done in no time. Cory, a hygienist, gave me a cleaning, she was extremely nice and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. Dr. Boyack made sure I knew everything I needed to know, he also made plenty of light conversation which made the whole experience much better. If you're looking for a dental office that has outstanding care and hospitality for their patients, look no further! Genesis Dental is the place to go.

DO NOT GO HERE! I went here recently for the first time due to an insurance change, and I am so glad I went to go get a second opinion. I have always gotten cavities as a kid, but when I went here they told me I needed 3 crowns and 4-5 fillings! I was defeated because I felt like I wasn't taking good enough care of myself. I floss mostly every night (we all have those nights we miss), brush my teeth twice a day, and I use an anti cavity mouthwash.

I also never had any pain that I usually get when I do have a cavity! Crowns are a huge deal, they usually end up leading to needing an implant which is very costly. I had a bad feeling about what they were telling me, so I went to get a second opinion. I told them what this dentist told me and they said "I don't see what that dentist was seeing." I truly only had one TINY cavity that they were debating even filling.

I am appalled that this office was going to charge me thousands of dollars for unneeded treatment, as well as ruin my PERFECTLY HEALTHY good teeth. After this experience I will be reporting them as well to the BBB. No one should be put in this situation. DO NOT GET SCAMMED! If you need a good dentist I ended up going to Sojo dental, it's a bit far from salt lake but it clearly paid off.

I had a wee emergency and they got me right in. Every interaction was positive and even fun. Dr. Boyack was fantastic and did little things to reduce my pain and ensure faster recovery. Not only were the people and customer service outstanding, but they had the best equipment.tools and technology that made the process of getting an emergency crown fast and easy. Go to Genesis Dental, you'll love it there.

O have a huge fear of dentist, because of my last experience 15 years ago but i knew i needed so see one. Looked at the reviews and picked Genesis. When i called i told them my fear and they totally understood and talked me through what would happen. Getting there today i was freaking a bit but everyone was super nice and talked me through everything. Dr. Quiroz was very nice and genital. He asked a lot of questions and helped me calm my nerves. I am super happy i found them and am glad to go back for more work to gwt my mouth helthy again.

I went in to have my 6 month cleaning and I'm always impressed at how great everyone is. Heidi always does the best job at cleaning your teeth and she is super friendly. She makes the dentist office a much better experience. I have the upmost confidence in Dr. Q and the diagnosis I get. I highly highly recommend coming here.

He answers all the my questions. He goes over the pro and cons to every procedure that needs to be done! I have bad anxiety when it comes to the dentist but he walks me through everything allow me to take breaks! He even try's to break the ice! He cares about your well being in the process! He is the only dentist I will continue seeing!

I called in Monday for an emergency appointment and they were able to fit me in the next day because of a cancelation. Dr. Ho is seriously the best at making you feel comfortable and unashamed. Also her team's just amazing and helpful with all of your needs. And one last thing: the music they play, and the volume at which they play it, is just perfect while you're getting work done. Thank you!

I love, love, LOVE this office! Rachel took her time and did an amazing job at cleaning my teeth. Both dental assistants Julia and Anastasia are very nice and welcoming. Dr. Boyack took the time to answer and explain all of my questions. I so recommend this office!

This was my first time at Genesis Dental. I've been looking for a dental clinic for a while and finally found the best! During my cleaning I felt comfortable and Heidi made sure all my questions were answered. Dr. Q explained everything to where i understood and wasn't confused. If you're looking for a new dentist look no further

I chose this location based on convenience. I'm glad I did choose this one though. The office staff are very nice. Elena Has been helpful every time I visit. One thing to note is when when paying for your visit, their card processing company charges convenience fees on card payments, including hsa cards.

Genesis Dental was a great experience! It was quick, easy & they were all so nice. They made me a last minute appointment for the very next morning. Heidi was so good with my daughter, she felt very comfortable! We will for sure be going back.

My early experience with here was quite satisfing. However some unexpected unhappiness just happened to me. For the crown they made for me, defective was found and reworking was done which brought me additional pain. And the same issue happened again. For 1 crown, I suffered 3 times to get the work done. That is still understandable, and they did the rework for free.

Another thing made me frustrated is they scheduled my cleaning before my insurance policy refresh and I clearly remember I was told it was fully covered. I had to pay in full for the service. I can tolerate some errors in the work. But keeping making mistakes definitely can't make me happy. I'm really doubt should I keep with them in the future.

Absolutely wonderful. They got me in very quickly. I had an abscessed tooth and very uncomfortable. Elana, Priscilla and Dr Q (the dentist) so kind and caring. His dental assistant was so gentle when taking x-rays. Very kind people. The have a treatment plan and I'm scheduling my appointments asap. Would highly recommend this dental office. This was my first visit. They are now my long term dentist office.

This place is seriously the best. I have major anxiety about going to the dentist and I put off going way too long as a result. I finally but the bullet and searched yelp and decided on this place based on the reviews. They got me in the day after I called and were careful with covid screening. When I went, my hygienist was so kind and non judgemental.

I felt completely safe and respected while I was there and the dentist was very genuine, warm and carefully explained everything. My 2nd visit for some work was just as good, and they made sure I understood every thing they were doing and gave me a great cost breakdown so I had full knowledge going in on cost. Everyone here is so kind and welcoming and I truly appreciate them talking me through my anxiousness! Highly recommended these guys.

Where to start. I have the worst teeth! I've spent more time in the dentist chair then my family of 5 combined! I've forked out THOUSANDS of dollars on my mouth and struggled to find a dentist office that understands my frustration with my teeth, listens to my concerns and gives me the best advice on how to keep my teeth health. Well, I'm done searching!

This place is by far the best dentist I've ever gone to! Although I was there for a crown, it was by far the most pleasant experience I've ever had at a dentist office. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Made me feel welcome and cared for. Dr. Ho had compassion for my situation and was so nice even as I was crying in the chair. The service I got was fast and efficient.

The pain is almost at a zero and I don't feel like I got stiffed on the price. I look forward to my next visit - crown placement and a full cleaning! I plan on bringing my kids here - found out they are more then half the cost of my kids dentist for their cavities. If you are looking for a new dentist, look no further!

Dr. Porter is a great dentist really pain free. I lost a filling he replaced it without Novocain. They also made sure I was very comfortable during the procedure.

The absolute best dentist I have gone to. Totally professional. I got a quote from another dentist for all my work at $8900. Genesis quoted me $2200. Other dentist said I needed 4 crowns. Dr. Bradley Smith told me I did not need any crowns. He recommended silver fillings. Hannah was great a cleaning my over due teeth cleaning. 5 stars all day long.

I love Genesis dental! The staff is amazing! My favorite hygienist is Erik! He helped me think of a cream corn recipe at thanksgiving time. The staff all treat me like family and make me feel special. Dr. Porter is an amazing dentist. The staff is warm and so professional!

My husband and I just moved to Utah and were in need of a new dentist. I searched for the highest rated dentist in Taylorsville and this office popped up. The reviews are true! Dr. Porter was very nice and looked everything over in my mouth very thoroughly. He made sure any questions or concerns I had were address. Eric, the dental hygienist, was awesome! I loved how he explained exactly what he was doing and what I could expect through the entire process. I was in an out quickly too! Great dental office overall.

I've been terrified of going to the dentist my entire adult life. However, a broken tooth sent me directly to Genesis Dental. Not only were they able to get me in the moment I called, but the service I received from that point on was beyond stellar. Dr. Porter never made me feel badly or ashamed of the fact that it's been a long time since I've been to the dentist and he was very caring and compassionate about not only my teeth my my anxiety. Dr. Porters staff is just as wonderful as he is, the office smells amazing and I've never yet had to wait to be taken back.

Update to the issue with the filling that fell out. I received a call shortly after posting this review from Jason. We talked about the situation at hand and he said given the details of the story and understanding the doctor in question (Dr. Brown), my story was plausible. When Jason called I was on my way to the dentist to have the filling refilled at another dentist's office in Troy Michigan, on my own dime mind you. Jason then offered to pay for the procedure as a way to correct the wrong that was done. Jason was very pleasant and understanding of my situation.

I appreciated his professionalism and willingness to make right what was wrong. After the procedure, I sent him the bill and he wrote out a check for the $216 for the filling that was fixed. I was very pleased with the way Jason treated me. Sidenote: When the dentist, here in Michigan, began working on my tooth he noticed that part of the filling was loosely attached to my molar.

Once he cleared the old filling out, he said that the previous dentist (Dr. Brown with Genesis Dental) missed some of the decay before he filled the tooth. He also said that had I waited until I got back to Utah, it was likely that I would have needed a root canal. Bottom line: very impressed with the way Jason treated me. But I wasn't very impressed with Dr. Brown. I would hope that he is more careful in the future with his clients teeth and doesn't get distracted by his golf game.

Very warm and friendly staff. They listed to my needs and looked for ways to satisfy them. Expedient and timely service.

I live in star valley, WY. And I still make the drive down to Genesis Dental-the staff is great, and DR. Porter is an amazing dentist. I have been going to this office for over 8 years, and I can honestly say that I have not once had an issue. If you are looking for a trustworthy staff and an amazing dentist that has steady hands and a great skill set then look no further!
