Services
Our practice is dedicated to giving back to the communities in which we work. Throughout the school year, certified dental assistants from our practice visit area schools to educate children on brushing, flossing, nutrition, and what to expect when visiting our dental office. We enjoy this time spent with our community children, and the kids have a good time too! We feel that it is very important to teach our children the proper techniques on how to keep their smiles not only beautiful, but also healthy.
Dr. Ashcraft performs surgery at Augusta University's Children's Hospital of Georgia (formerly MCG) on Wednesdays. Our office may be closed at times when we are attending continuing education seminars, performing outpatient dental surgery at the hospital, and for holidays. However our answering machine will record messages whenever the office is closed and a staff member will promptly return your call.
Nitrous Oxide is a procedure that helps your child feel comfortable during dental treatment. It allows your child to breath more oxygen than one can normally breath from the air while enjoying a remarkable depth of relaxation. 2. It virtually eliminates the apprehension, nervousness, and tension associated with dental procedures and it allows for a cooperative, well-managed pediatric patient. It also helps to reduce gagging. 3. It usually induces a feeling of warmth and security, as well as a pleasant "floating" sensation.
9 Ways to Make Brushing Fun! You can start using a finger toothbrush or a baby toothbrush to brush your baby's teeth. It takes many years before children develop the fine motor coordination they need to do a good tooth brushing job. One dentist advises that parents brush their children's. American Academy of Pediatrics: No juice for babies, limited servings for children Citing its relationship with dental decay, among other health-related concerns, the American Academy of Pediatrics in May released a policy statement recommending no fruit juice for children under 1 year.

Is sad to read comments so rude from mothers who probably can't even control their own children and expect to someone else to do it. My son has been attending this office from his first time, he is turning 15 soon and we LOVE THE WHOLE STAFF!, so my recommendation is if you are not happy with the service just go somewhere else but don't ruin the reputation of a hard worker people like them .

Oh and about the wait, pandemic brought a lot of changes everywhere and I don't mind waiting on my vehicle watching my Netflix series, cause my health comes first and my son needs too, so I take the time when he is having his appointment

Our first appointment was amazing! We haven't had the best experiences with dentist but Dr. Ashcraft and her staff were very informative with every step! They were so kind, made sure every concern or question was answered and made sure my daughter was comfortable! By far the best experience and we are so lucky to have found someone who truly cares for their patients!

The first visit for my 3 year old was great but at her recent second visit, we had an 8:30am appt and did not get seen until after 10:30. You can't wait in the lobby, you have to wait in your car. The day we were there it was cold outside so we couldn't be outside so I had my 3 year old in my car for 2 hours trying to keep her entertained. I was told they were short staffed but after reading all these reviews, sounds like they've been "short staffed" for over 6 years.

I didn't have any issues with Dr. Ashcraft herself or any staff really but when I was told my 3 yr old needed 3 cavities filled, would be given nitrous, that papoose thing was going to be put on her AND that she would be going through all this alone without me in there, that's when I started to feel like this might not be the best fit for us. The other reviewers are right and the shear amount of screaming kids and kids walking out with bloody gauze in their mouth is unnerving.

She used to papoose my sister and I at every appointment. My mom quit taking us here after my sister came out with Dr. Ashcraft's handprint on her leg. I came across her practice just now looking for a pediatric dentist for my son. I cannot believe this devilish woman is still practicing on innocent children. Please take your child elsewhere.

DO NOT GO HERE. I was 13 or so years old and I went in to have a cavity filled. They numbed me with needles, but when Deborah Ashcraft went to fill the cavity she accidently hit a nerve and so instinctively I jerked my head a little. Her response was incredibly rude saying "if your filling is messed up its your fault". I told her she hurt me, and she couldn't care less and proceeded to rush the procedure and have a horrible attitude. Assuming yall are using Medicaid insurance GO TO CRESTVIEW DENTAL.

They are not far away, in clearwater and the entire staff is great including the dentist. They don't see children under 6, so if you have younger children you will need to go elsewhere just DONT GO HERE. They separate the children from their parents so the children will "behave better" which may be the case in some instances but for me it was uncomfortable and I will NOT let my own go through that.

I love Dr. Ashcraft! She is awesome! She did my teeth as a child and also my brothers. She is really good with kids, her staff is awesome and it usually doesn't take that long for a visit!

My Daughter has been a patient of Dr. Ashcraft for over 18 years and we have always had a pleasant experience. She takes her time with each patient and sometimes there may be a wait, but I know she does a great job. Her staff is very knowledgeable and caring.

I went here when I was a child, many years ago. I was terrified without my mother and surrounded by dental workers. I am sensitive to sounds so when they started working on me, I freaked out. My mom said she heard me screaming and forced her way to the back. When she found me, I was strapped down and visibly upset. Never went back. Strapping down scared kids will not calm them down. Do better.

I don't recommend! Run as fast as you can! This place is horrible. Never once has my 5 yr old son been terrified of going to dentist until coming here. I dnt know what this lady is doing to these children every child I've seen go into this place comes out crying! And the parents are not allowed in the back. The treatment plans are trash and she's lazy.

She rather remove all the teeth she can w/o seeing if there's anything to save them! I've ended my son treatment last month (Jan 2022)bc this place literally give me an uneasy feeling. Like I've stated before RUN!
