I don't like going to the dentist but going to Great Plains Dental has changed my mind. The hygienist have been amazing and very gentle with cleaning my teeth. Everyone has been very welcoming and kind. They also did amazing with my twin 2 year old daughters. I was so nervous taking them, but they kept the girls entertained and comfortable during the exams.

Very profit driven practice! They plan work on you based on what is most profitable for them, and not what is the most beneficial for patient. Putting crown where filling can work well is Dr. Nelson's specialty. Hygienist behaves like a brain surgeon, shows attitude, and it takes her 90 minutes to finish cleaning. Seriously. And they will x-ray you all the time and for no reason Update: To tooth where Dr. Nelson wanted to put crown on was fixed by another dentist - just white filling, and it is still in great shape 4 years after.

Haven't been to the dentist in forever thought i was going in for the initial check up and cleaning, instead got referred somewhere else to take care of problems before they can do anything, then was told i couldnt drive home because i was falling asleep, i guess working overnight with sleep apnea means i have the ability to stay awake

I've seen Dr Nelsen a few times now and cannot say enough good things. He and everyone else on staff is incredibly nice, thorough, and efficient. I havent had to have anything retouched or redone, it's WAY less uncomfortable than any other dentist ive seen and they're truly so kind. My 2 year old daughter has also been seen here and she also had a great appointment. Would recommend them to absolutely anyone.

After a lifetime of bad dental experiences, I finally found one I absolutely love. Dr. Nelson at Great Plains Dental in Sioux Falls is so kind, personable, funny, competent, compassionate - just a great young man. I called with a question after a tooth extraction and asked to speak to his assistant and got to speak to him directly. I'm a nurse, and, well, that's just about unheard of in my world.
I have nothing but great things to say about the rest of the staff there as well. Everyone I've encountered has been friendly, polite, and helpful. It's well worth the 2-1/2 hour drive to get my dental care there.

Dr William Schultz and McKenzie took a difficult situation and turned it into something I was very happy with. Dr Schultz paid close attention to what I wanted. He gave me options and discussed price right in the chair so I could make a decision on the spot. McKenzie made me feel comfortable and checked in with me regularly so see if I was ok or needed everything. Both paid attention to my needs while showing such genuine care. When you find a doctor you can trust it makes all the difference!

Everyone at Great Plains Dental was great to work with; from the receptionist to the doctor herself. Dr. Waterberry went over all the concerns I had with my teeth and what options I had. She even touched on if insurance would cover the various procedures, which was a first experience for me and was truly helpful as a young adult deciding on which option to go with. If you are new to the area or looking for a new dentist, I HIGHLY recommend visiting Great Plains Dental!

If I could give Dr. Schultz 10 stars I would. He is a very professional and compassionate dentist. When you see him you have no doubt he really cares about you. I've seen many dentists moving around over the years. I can say without hesitation he is the absolute best! As an added bonus, his office is very easy to work with and everyone has great smiles!

Excellent atmosphere, Dr. Nelson was not only great with me but also my one year old daughter. The ladies at the front desk are always incredibly polite. Also the finance people will take as much time as you need to ensure you know all your payment options for your personal plan of action. I would 100% recommend anyone who is uncomfortable going to the dentist give Great Plains a chance!
