What an impressive dental Group. After returning to this group after a year, I have found that this place is the gold standards to dental services today. Being very picky regarding professional services and high quality care as a patient, I have found my dental home. Extra thanks to Dr Lee who was fabulous and informative with great care along with all the staff at the group. How refreshing to be among such a fantastic staff. Thank you so much!

Had an amazing experience at the McCarl Dental Group! My dental hygienist was very polite and professional and great at explaining everything to me. She was very patient with my questions and answered all of them! My dentist, Dr. Lee was wonderful! She went above and beyond during my visit and removed old bonding left over from my Invisalign that other Dentists in the past overlooked/ didn't want to take the time to remove. I would definitely recommend this practice to anyone who asks!

First dental visit ever I did not feel pain from. Had extraction and they did an amazing job. No trying to sell other services. Gave me what i wanted and got me out. Recovery is going smooth. Hubby wrote this it was his procedure.

My go to providers are Dr. Lee and Nancy, who are awesome. The admin staff are also great as well. The dental assistants change often, so I have no consistent relationship. The practice overall is great

I'm almost 70 and have seen a wide variety of dentists over the years. For the past 20 years or so, I've been seeing the excellent dentists, hygienists, and staff at McCarl Dental Group, and I can't speak too highly about that experience. Everyone at the office is professional, congenial, and truly interested in my dental health. I've recommended the practice to everyone I know.

I have had the hygienist Nancy Kearney and the dentist Clayton McCarl for many years. I feel that they are close friends. They greet me warmly and are always concerned about my well-being, including how life has treated me the last six months. Of course they ask if I have any known dental problems. I trust them implicitly to keep me in good dental health.

At the end of the visit I am given a "gift bag" containing such items as toothpaste, a toothbrush, and floss. I highly recommend the McCarl Dental Group for caring, Covid-safe, and professional dentistry.

I had a wonderful experience with this practice. Dr. Lee is super nice and explained everything well, answering all of my questions during my visit. The staff is also amazing. They fit me into the schedule within one day, making sure I was seen. I never felt this comfortable at the dentist until I visited The McCarl Dental Group. 5 stars across the board!

I've been seeing Dr. McCarl since I was a kid and 20 years later I have not found a better dental group. The staff are great. Very friendly and caring. I love that they teach me tips and trick to take better care of my teeth.

Karen in the reception area, my hygienist Megan, and my dentist Dr. Jay served me extremely well with their expertise and courtesy. At the end of my appointment I was feeling faint because of low blood sugar. Dr. Jay escorted me home (across the street) to ensure I made it home safely. I can't speak highly enough about the wonderful care I always receive at the McCarl Dental Group.

I happen to find this Dentist on google for an emergency tooth ache I had. Since day one, I call to ask questions and service; I receive a welcoming answer and then follow a great service. They help me out with answering questions I had to financially aid. I receive great care from the staff and Dr. Clayton. I will continue to see this office. I receive more then what I expected from this Dentist office.

I wish I had found this dental group sooner. Dr. J. is the best dentist I've ever had and I'm in my 80's. Not only is he kind and respectful, he's excellent at his job. The staff is very friendly and professional. The office is clean and the waiting room is very nice. I've scheduled a few treatments within a month and each time, they have handled me with great care and kindness. I've come home without feeling any pain after the procedures. Even though he's out of my network, I will continue to come see him.

Our family has been going to McCarl group for about 15 years since we moved to Maryland. I've had some bad experiences with dentists in the past, so I was careful before choosing a new one. All of the dentists at McCarl group are great! Very personable, and they do a great job at making patients feel at ease. They are great with children and emergency appointments. A huge shout out to Dr. Lee. She is absolutely fantastic. Thanks to her my daughter actually loves going to the dentist!

I went to McCarl for the first time yesterday and this will for sure be my new dentist office. I have had jaw pain for months and thought it might be my wisdom teeth but my old dentist kept telling me they were fine and didn't need to be removed. Yesterday I woke up and my face was swollen and I knew something was wrong. I called McCarl and the receptionist I spoke to was extremely helpful and was able to get me an appointment for 3 hours later.

When I arrived, there was no wait and a very nice hygienist took X-rays. I saw doctor Lee and she told me my wisdom teeth are actually impacted and should be taken out. She prescribed me an antibiotic to clear up any potential infection as well as ibuprofen for pain. I was really anxious to go in but Doctor Lee had a super pleasant and calm demeanor which helped me a lot.

She referred me to an oral surgeon who I have a consult with at the end of the month and told me if I have anymore issues she can refill my antibiotic. Im really thankful that I was able to be seen and put on medication before the holiday weekend. They also have an emergency line for after hours which I think is really nice.

McCarl's group always demonstrates the utmost professionalism and courtesy. I've been coming here for 44 years, and it's always been a joy. Their staff is terrific, and makes you feel like part of the family.

I can honestly say this is the first dental office I've ever been to where I felt completely comfortable and at ease. Everyone from the time you enter into this business until the time you leave are friendly and extremely professional and caring! I recommend this place above all others! My family have been going to the McCarl Dental Group for over 35 years. I can not say enough good things about this organization. Their dentists are simply exceptional and all of their staff are kind, professional, gentle, trustworthy, compassionate and absolutely top notch! I went in on January 28, 2021 for my 6 month check up. As usual, my experience was 5. The office and treatment suites were sanitized, and there were numerous air filters running throughout. I felt very safe.

As someone who is often anxious in medical settings due to past experiences, I have felt completely at ease going to this dental group. They really listen to you, explain everything that's going on, make sure you understand it, and are just genuinely really nice people. I also really appreciate how responsive and nice the front desk is. I haven't had any sort of miscommunication with them whatsoever (which honestly I find kind of amazing). I would definitely recommend them.

As visitors to the area, we were understandably distressed when our 10-year-old fell off her bike and chipped off half her front tooth (bottom). The campground proprietors recommended McCarl. We called at 4PM and by 5:30 it was as though the accident had never happened. They saw us immediately, calmed all of us down, did a great job in working with our daughter and fixing the tooth.

Everyone was incredibly kind, communicative, and thoroughly professional. I only wish we lived in the area, because this is the best dental practice I have ever had the pleasure of going to.

I've been coming here for over 10 years. My husband has been coming even longer than that. They're great! I never have to wait, the staff is really friendly yet professional, and the office is clean. Dr. Dave is funny and usually has an interesting story to share. Even the reminders about flossing are gentle and supported by periodontal check results. (Darn those gums!) I truly have no complaints. Although the dentist's office isn't where I would choose to spend my time, I like the teeth I have so I go regularly. I can't imagine a better dentist.

One of the best dentists I've been to. They're to the point, always on schedule, and genuinely care about their patients. They worked with me on financing and worked tirelessly with my insurance company to give me the best possible deal.

McCarl Dental cleaned my teeth thoroughly and checked them thoroughly as well. I'm a relatively new patient and all seems well so far. Crown is fine.

Dr Lee IS AMAZING! She REALLY cares! The dental staff, EVERY single one, acts as if they are overjoyed to be at work. They truly make you feel like you are the MOST important patient in their practice. My in-laws have been coming here since 1975 and refuse to let us go ANYWHERE else! Wonderful dental office!

I've visited this dentist several times to have some corrections made on the work that my previous dentist has done. I've been impressed with both the friendliness of the office and dental staff. I also love that the dentists I've seen have done a great job explaining exactly what and why they are doing what they are doing. However, my one complaint (and reason why they are receiving 3 stars) is that my visits have been absurdly slow.

Each one has taken at least an hour (up to 2+ hours) for something that was originally quoted as needing 20 minutes. I spent 45 minutes waiting in the chair all prepped to see the dentist one appointment. The fault lies in the fact (as explained to me) that if one dentist is out, the other one picks up his/her appointments. While the dentists I've seen have always been very apologetic, it is really unrealistic to expect someone to spend 2 hours at a dentist appointment who is both working and taking classes. The work has been great, however, so if you have the time to spare, definitely come here.

My primary dentist is Jay McCarl and he's the best! He interacts with his patients and listens to my concerns and issues I have related to my teeth. In addition, he personally calls to follow up on my outside referrals or surgery I may have had to review the results he receives. The price for dental services are pretty much cheaper if not the same compared to the going dental rates with other practices.

The administrative staff are truly friendly and will work with you every step of the way in regards to payment and follow up visits. I love the office since it's very clean and the staff work around the clock to provide for their patients.

The facility is nice and the staff is helpful. I got an appointment booked no problem and my follow-up visit was also scheduled promptly. I hadn't been to the dentist in about 4 years and wasn't looking forward to going. but now I schedule follow-up appointments without hesitation. Dr. Lee was my dentist and I found her very helpful and informative.

The hygenists are also very informative and answer questions well. Prices are reasonable and they are flexible with payment methods if you don't have insurance. Two cleanings and 1 filling so far in the last couple months and no complaints. Looking forward to playing catch-up on my dental work and going there regularly now to keep it up.

I have been going to Mccarl Dental Group for many years now, and have always received top of the line treatment and service. Dr. Jay McCarl has filled several cavities for me, and he does a great job while making it as stress free as possible. Dr. Jay McCarl even met me for an emergency on a Tuesday night (10pm) and opened the office after I had my front tooth almost knocked out while playing basketball. It's this level of service that keeps me a faithful patient of the McCarl Dental Group, and I highly recommend them to anyone who needs dental work.

I have always been satisfied with my care at the McCarl Dental Group. I have been a patient there for over 10 years. In the last couple years, my dentist at the group has been Dr. Monica Mattson. She is EXCELLENT! She is patient with questions and very good at explaining things. I must add that I am an artist with limited funds and she has always been helpful with explaining my options and working with the office staff to set up a payment plan.

Outstanding practice. Over the years I have had extensive work done by several of the dentists at McCarl. I have never once waited more than 5 minutes for any appointment. They seem to always be on top of the latest advancements in dental procedures and handle equipment and tools with such great confidence as though they invented the products. First rate operation from everyone I encountered with very warm and friendly front desk staff too.

I always am made to feel at ease when I walk in this office which is probably hard to believe given their line of work. I am so thankful I now live fairly close. I use to drive over 50 miles for appointments having had my share of horror stories sitting in other chairs.

I started going to Dr. Mattson at the McCarl group a few years ago, and my husband has been going to the office as well (he's seen a few different dentists, depending on his schedule) for the last two years. We are both thrilled with the service we've had there! I came in after having been to a TMJ specialist who was trying to convince me to spend what promised to be thousands of dollars to get specialized dental gear (I bear down on my teeth at night and get bad headaches from this).

I explained this (and my issues) during my initial checkup and Dr. Mattson suggested trying a small guard that snaps onto my teeth at night--WAY cheaper. They were able to make it in the office that day, and my headaches were gone within a week. The staff has always been professional and courteous, the hygienists remember details about me (or write them down - I don't know, but they always follow up on how I'm doing in non-dental life), and Dr. Mattson is incredibly efficient, friendly, and makes me feel at ease.

The one time I had to have a filling she even let me listen to my iPod cranked up (I hate dental drill sounds). The way the insurance has worked for me is they estimate what I'll owe after insurance and I pay that that day. Then they bill me if it ends up being more (they're usually not far off at all). Highly recommended :) PS: They're also open on Saturdays

I'm happy to travel from DC to Greenbelt for the excellent care and customer service at McCarl Dental (specifically, Dr. Clayton). It is as pleasant as going to the dentist can be. The staff and dentists will treat you like an intelligent adult as they walk you through your x-rays, any problems you have, and the ways you might treat them. It is a true family operation, and the fact that the office is a converted house makes the experience even more homey.

Its been a while since I once ventured to this office, so perhaps (and hopefully) things have changed. However I can't help but warn about this office because of my bad experience. I only went here because my regular dentist was booked and it was right in my neighborhood. Yes there were flashy t.v.s but that was probably to cover the sleazy work being done. I've never had a cavity in my mouth (still to this day) but at Dr. McCarl's I was informed I was on the verge of getting 13 cavities. (YES, 13. practically my whole mouth was rotting according to them) I was also told that I needed my wisdom teeth out ASAP. even though 6 months ago my regular dentist said they were fine. Next, the hygenist gave me a rude attitude about not flossing, and then flossed my teeth forcefully to teach me a lesson. and make my gums bleed and stay sore for the next 2 following days. Well, when I returned to my regular dentist 6 months later, he said I had no cavities, and my wisdom teeth didn't need to be out either.

Perfect check-up according to him. 5 years later, I still have no cavities, have never had a bad appointment, and just a couple months ago finally had to have my wisdom teeth out. It seemed me at the time that Dr. McCarl's office was out to make as much money as possible and would go so far as to lie about their patients conditions. However, they don't make money off of referring patients so perhaps my instincts were wrong.

True story: I had a friend who went here with a cavity-free mouth and came out with 7 cavities. All I'm saying is that if this happens to you, get a 2nd opinion. Would NEVER go back to this office again! * As a follow-up, I have received several messages from the office which was a nice gesture. not quite nice enough to change my review, but at least it shows they care. *As a second (and hopefully final!) follow up.

I feel that I should clarify a few things since this review has been flagged (really?. thats what I said, but yes) 1. The dentist did not order me to have any cavities filled, he just told me I was on the verge of getting them, as I stated above. (a scare tactic?.) 2. Ok, so its been a while so I can't remember if the exact number he told me was 13. perhaps that was an exaggeration.

But I remember it was insanely high. at least 9 3. I do agree with the person from the office who has been sending me messages that everyone should floss and be encouraged to do so. (just not in such a harsh way. ) 4. Finally, by using the word "sleazy" I was only describing my personal experience at the time, and my opinion of the services rendered. not the entire office and every staff member. 5. Please can this be over! :D (those are my pearly whites)
