Our team is dedicated to patient-focused practices, a welcoming atmosphere and zero judgment. Dr. Jeffrey T. Root completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 1999. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry (located in southern California) in 2004.
Our team at our Gallimore Road office delivers quality, comprehensive dental care, personalized to each individual and family. Dr. Nicopoulos grew up on a farm, just down the mountain in Shelby, NC. As a teenager, he spent weekends hiking and camping in the WNC mountains, and so began his love for the area.
We're so excited that you're getting ready to join us. Our patients are our top priority, which means helping you feel comfortable & oriented is our top priority. Being a new patient can feel daunting what do you need to bring? What do we need to know? What should you expect at that first visit?!, so we're here to take the mystery out of the experience and help you feel at ease before you even arrive.

All dental personnel were courteous and friendly. The appointment began promptly at the scheduled time. the appointment proceeded efficiently from one phase to the next (X rays, cleaning, confer with dentist, etc.). They spotted problems and recommended follow-up actions. Very satisfactory appointment. I highly recommend this group.

I love WOD! I had a very bad experience years ago at a dentist in Richmond. Since then, it's been extremely hard for me to maintain regular dental care. 6 years ago we moved to the Brevard area and via someone's recommendation, gave WOD a try. I had to have several fillings replaced and you can only imagine the fear I experienced. Dr. Valdez was new to the staff and I got an appointment with her.
She was wonderful - skilled, fast, and had a great chair-side manner that helped to put me at ease. I've had several appointments with her and now I don't get all discombobulated fretting over an upcoming procedure. Dentistry is still not my fav thing to go through, but Dr. Valdez has eased my fears and I'm very grateful to have her as my dentist!
The office has some very fine folks in there, too. Always friendly, helpful, and informative. My fav dental hygienist is Lexy. She knows how to clean your choppers without making a big gloopy mess in your mouth! I always hated that. So I would be glad to highly recommend Water Oaks Dentistry!

After 45 years as a vascular/general surgeon My professional opinion is that Dr Root and his staff are the best in this area. I've been seen as a new patient on a same day emergency basis as well as routinely. We had such an incredible experience here. My 3 year old really had a blast with Lexie. She was so great at explaining everything and showing him how everything worked. It enabled him to have a good cleaning without any fear. They even gave him a prize for being so good! For our first time visit to a dentist for him it was everything I could have asked for and more!

I went in to Water Oak Dental for my first visit this week. The positive recommendations from family and friends was spot on! Each person treated me professionally, respectful, and truly made me feel that my care was very important to them! I stopped going to this guy when he told me in all seriousness the Pope is the antichrist (devil.) He's a 7th Day Adventist, a sect infamous for its anti Catholic bigotry. I have no idea why he shot his mouth off with me. I guess he assumed I wasn't Catholic. But I am and I take a stand against bigotry. I hope you will too.
