Dr. Mantis accepted me as a new patient while I called driving away from another dentist in Lake Forest who told me he couldn't help me. I had received a poorly matched crown on my front tooth from another dentist in Maine. Two weeks later, and with the assistance of his team members calling my insurance, Dr. Mantis got started right away in the morning creating my new tooth: as is normal, the first time the tooth came out from 'the cooker, ' it wasn't a great match: he and I agreed we should try the next shade. 40 minutes late the team sent me out the door with a beautiful, affordable new front tooth.
My old smiley personality is re-emerging as I do not feel like I need to keep my lips closed. The experience has made such a huge impact on my life. I am relocating to Manhattan for a job this summer and feel ready to start beautifully with my smile returned! So grateful for the process start to finish. Highly recommend.

I recently moved to the area and have been looking for a dentist. Dr Mantis had the best google reviews, and now I know why. My entire experience with Dr Mantis, Sam, and Deb was amazing, and I would give more than 5 stars if I could. They were kind, helpful, and informative throughout the entire process.

My brother-in-law, who is a dentist practicing in a different state, recommended Dr. Mantis after I moved to Chicago. He knows Dr. Mantis through an advanced dental program where they both regularly advance their skills. I'm so glad to have gotten this recommendation. Originally I had begun seeing a dentist who was closer to where I live, but I was disappointed with the quality of care. (The dentist regularly missed some tooth wear that my brother-in-law had pointed out to me).
So I switched to Dr. Mantis and am impressed by the quality of the care. He has invested a lot in terms of advanced technology and methods. I had my first crown installed recently, and it was done in two hours. Dr. Mantis has a 3D scanner and a machine that makes crowns on site, without having to use a temporary crown and wait for the permanent crown to be created elsewhere. Very impressed with this dental practice!

I tell everybody about how much I love having Dino as my dentist, and I'm certain people are tired of hearing about how great he is! I had an infection in my wisdom teeth a few months ago, and needed an appointment ASAP. The only days I had available were on a weekend when the office was closed, and Dino opened the office up just for me! He extracted all four of my wisdom teeth within 45 minutes (including the time we waited for the painkillers to kick in.and he didn't even need to use laughing gas!).
I always look forward to my dentist appointments because the entire staff treats me like family, AND I like him so much that I've been coming to his office for my entire life. 12/10 would recommend!

When we moved to the North shore from the city last year, I began my search for a good dentist in the area. I tried a few dentists before finding Mantis dentistry. Dr. Mantis is really good at what he does! He's knowledgeable, and uses technology to make his patients lives easier. Never had I had a dentist before, where I could walk out of the office with a crown in one sitting. Deb at the front desk is pretty awesome too, and makes you feel like family even as a new patient. Very glad I found Mantis Dentistry!

Mantis Dentistry is an awesome experience. The people there really care and want you to have a good experience. Our family travels an hour to get there because we love it that much. Dr. Mantis is always striving to improve his practice with the latest research and technology while also keeping his clients and their welfare in mind. I personally have had a lot of work done and am always happy to go back!

I have been going to dr mantis for more than 10 years. It is easy to get an appointment and everyone in the office has always been super nice. Dr Mantis is kind, professional and technically skilled. I have had an abundance of crowns placed and he has never faltered until my bite was perfect. I recommend him without reservation

I was introduced to Dr. Mantis practice through a close family friend. I'm an RN and was in the process of looking for a new dentist. I was invited by my friend to observe her examination, diagnosis, treatment plan and subsequent treatment. What I had the privilege to observe was unlike any dental experience I'd previously been exposed to. The quiet, clean office, in Wilmette, is easily accessible with unlimited "free" parking. Elena, at the front desk, is courteous, informative, and professional.
The dental assistants are efficient, responsive, sensitive, and professional. Dr. Mantis is extremely knowledgeable and clearly takes his continuing education seriously. His practice is expertly managed and his equipment is not simply state of the art but a responsible investment in the long-term oral health of his patients. For these reasons I selected Dr. Mantis as my new dentist.
My personal experience has surpassed my observational experience in that his technical expertise is exceptional. Like most people, I don't love the expense of dentistry. however, under the care of Dr. Mantis's team. I completely trust the treatment recommendation, the skill of the service delivered, and the final outcome. That's priceless. Thank you to Dr. Mantis and the whole team

I wanted a quote on Invisalign and a mouthguard because I had a minor shift after having corrective braces and suffer from grinding and jaw pain. I found this practice on Google. It was the very first ad that appeared on Google, in fact. I used their online chat and then called them to make a consultation appointment. I was told it would be free, and the receptionist was very kind over the phone.
When I got to the office, I was greeted warmly by the receptionist and complimented. Then Dr. Mantis escorted me into his office for our consultation. He did quell some of my anxieties, by telling me that most people's teeth wear down from chewing and everyday use- and that my teeth were not worn down severely. He then began showing me an assortment of photos on his desktop computer of people's gums, both healthy and then receding, and one of the pictures demonstrably showed how gums bleed when they are not flossed properly.
Then he transitioned onto pictures of rotting teeth that were blackening, and teeth that looked fine on the outside, and then in the following pictures, were drilled into- and from a bird's eye view, were demolished and the inside remnants looked like they were shredded. The point of this demonstration was to utilize fear sales tactics of developing bad teeth from bacteria.
He put a lot of emphasis on the fact that all these horrific photos stemmed from abundant amounts of bacterial pathogens that wrecked these people's mouths, acting as silent killers, destroying teeth from an internal, invisible point. Dr. Mantis showed me the bacterial test he has all of his patients take. It's a salivary sample that gets sent to a lab where saliva is analyzed and interpreted.
He showed me photos of a patient's before and after comparison in the form of test results. The first photo had a long list of bacterial pathogens I could not pronounce, nor could I distinguish the difference between each listed pathogen. The second photo had a significantly diminished list of bacterial pathogens present in the patient's mouth.
The dentist attributed these great results to his bacterial-fighting line of products. I asked several times where the bacterial pathogens came from, and if they were genetically related or caused by lifestyle habits. He was vague and did not answer my question directly. He continued to stress the danger of unforeseen bacteria not visible to the naked eye, and that he had been in arguments with other dental professionals regarding the legitimacy of bacterial pathogens.
He asked me where I thought cavities came from. I told him I was under the impression that cavities come from eating sweets and sticky foods. He told me I was wrong, that the problem came down to bacteria, and bacteria only. At this point, I was skeptical. Dr. Mantis told me he was ready to continue my consultation. He escorted me to the front desk, where the receptionist told me I would need to pay $228 to get x-rays and a further examination.
I told her I couldn't afford that. She then revised the price, because she realized I had already presented them with my x-rays. The price was reduced to $60. I said yes, even though my gut was telling me not to. I sat in the examination chair and one of the dentist's assistants swabbed my gums, getting a read on my acidic levels. Dr. Mantis then came up to me and checked my gums and the tops of my teeth with a metal tool to check for overall health, I assume.
I then had a metal device placed over my mouth. When Dr. Mantis pulled it away from me, it displayed four numbers in red, which was numerically well over 9000. He told me this was alarming, and that it meant my bacterial levels were alarmingly high and that a person with good oral health would have a number around 1500. At this point, I felt like I was in a Scientology center getting measured with an E-Meter.
I was not told what units these numbers were measured in. I then had over a dozen pictures taken of my teeth from all different angles while my lips were pried open with metal forceps. Afterwards, I was told that my results would need to be reviewed and that I would get my answers the following day. I made another appointment. I felt foolish for going against my intuition and paying for services that did not address the issues I was concerned about.
I am not going back for another appointment to be told I need to pay hundreds more for holistic mouthwashes, x-rays, consultations, and treatments. The point in which I became doubtful was during the examination. I asked him several times where the bacteria comes from. He said there would never be any way to tell where oral bacterial pathogens come from, that I could have gotten them from my boyfriend (I'm single) and that I would need to come back for a full scale review (and pay a lot more money through high pressure sales). After back and forth emails, which included the promotion of their oral care line, I have decided not to proceed with any further appointments.

Rich T. I would like to thank Dr mantis and Tracy, Kristi, and Dr. Mantis wife for making us feel at home, I've been so worried about my wife because she is in her later stages of Alzheimer's, its so sad to see her this way, i guess I was lucky to find you and your staff you did an excellent job on my Lucy, its hard to find a dentist with a heart, in my experiences, what a relief you took off my shoulders.

Dr. Mantis is the most knowledgeable and well-versed dentist in the North Shore! On day 1, he made it an essential point to educate me thoroughly, from the basics to the technology he would be using and why. I love having a dentist who gives me the tools to be proactive on my own, as well as giving me the latest and best techniques for care in his clinic. Dr. Mantis also has the best team I have ever met.
They are all kind, caring and extremely efficient! Dr. Mantis has me on a plan to eliminate the mercury fillings I previously had done, completely restructure my veneers from high school, and facilitating 2 implants. I am almost half way through this journey and could not be more pleased. Dr. Mantis has also placed personal calls or emails to me after each visit to check on my progress and follow-up with me, which I greatly appreciate.
The personal touch is very rare and appreciated! I have already recommended Dr. Mantis to several of my patients, friends and family. I am extremely grateful for meeting him and his team!

I've been blessed with good teeth all my life. In fact, I had no cavities until this year during my annual dental checkup. My bitewing x-rays showed that the decay in one of my molars was nearly hitting the nerve, which could potentially require a root canal. Sensing that this was urgent, I wanted to get this fixed ASAP with my previous dentist, but to my dismay, my second appointment was scheduled a month after my diagnosis!
Even more ridiculous was that the treatment plan would cost ~$700 even with copay! Clearly, my dentist only cared for the $, not the patient, like many dentists in the business are these days. Since moving to Evanston 1.5 years ago, I've had the unfortunate luck of finding unreliable and uncaring dentists. This was one of them. Unsatisfied, I sought out other dentists in the North Shore area and found Dr. Mantis.
I brought in my previous x-rays to show him, and he even double-checked by taking another bitewing x-ray on my cavity; this second review consultation was completely free! Knowing that my dental condition was urgent, he immediately scheduled me in 2 days after the consultation session for a cavity filling session. He was even willing to postpone the appointments of other patients to accommodate me! I'm proud to say that I had the first cavity filled in my life relatively painlessly by Dr. Mantis.
He was careful, skilled, and thoroughly explained to me what he was doing step-by-step. The other perk was his treatment plan was 1/2 the price of my previous plan; he only does what he needs to do to fix the problem. Nothing more, nothing less. His staff members are no different. They are genuinely caring and treat you like family. Beth, his secretary, is a darling!
Two days after my appointment, Beth and Dr. Mantis personally wrote a letter to me asking about my well-being and welcoming me to their dental family. I was sold. I'd highly recommend Dr. Mantis to any one who is looking for high quality, friendly, and professional dental service in the N. Shore area. You won't regret it.
