Extremely satisfied, dr.patel is awesome.she talks to me like a human. She always explains what's going on in my mouth.never talks down to me or makes me feel bad about the state of my teeth.i ve had two extractions came out like butter.one of them I was told by multiple dentists it needed to be surgically removed due to its state.nope she pulled right on out. Staff and assistants are super polite and caring. Between them and the dentist it's the best.go here if you can

I don't even want to give a 1 star right about now. I am sooo upset with today's appointment 2-9-22. I was supposed to get a tooth extracted and I had mentioned prior to scheduling it that I want to be sedated, well when I went for the first appointment for it, they didn't remember I said that and let me know that the oral surgeon will have to do it and he Comes in Wednesdays so I needed to reschedule because I would have to fast and stuff, I was ok with that.
So I fast for 12hours and had been up for 20 hours due to working, I had to drive an hour away to my appointment and I still didn't get my tooth pulled because the oral surgeon whom name I don't know because he never properly introduced himself and was talking to me behind my head said because of my health history he couldn't sedate me.this Should have been told to me before I came back a second time.
I am Very Disappointed in this practice and I never had problems like this when Dr. Gierman was in practice here, I hate he left. I didn't care for the Chairside manners of the oral Surgeon I felt he was rude with some of the remarks he made to me all because he didn't take the time to look at my chart.

Worst place to take your kids. My daughter at that time time was 6 years old Dr. David Peterson scared her he kept drilling into a cavity then he stopped and said she needs to go to a pediatric dentist why have her go through the pain when you couldn't do the work. Truthfully, I think his racist. Shortly after the procedure my daughter got GBS she was paralized from her waist down. Doctors can't tell me why this happened but the more I read about this illness the more it makes sense that he was the cause of the problem.

Very professional yet very friendly and caring staff. Dr. Patel is a wonderful, compassionate human being on top of being a very competent dentist. She actually takes the time to speak to me as a person, not just another patient. Her assistant Maria was there on loan from another location to help out for the day, and although I wasn't one of her regulars she treated me like an old friend. Excellent experience overall. I was recommended to this practice by my daughter and I would most definitely recommend it to anyone else.

The office staff needs to focus more on handling the billing and administrative end of the business and less time sending out mailings and numerous phones calls alerting you when you are coming up on time for an exam and cleaning. I have just recently received a bill from Carillon for $100+ from 2018. A routine appointment in which I had insurance to cover.
I have called in and discussed this once with the office staff and called and left a message another time. For whatever reason, they cannot manage to get this taken care of. It is really unfortunate that the office staff is so incompetent because I do like the dentist and hygienist. Either way, they are losing my daughter and myself as patients. After receiving a mailing on this bill, I called and discussed this with their office staff assuming they would get this cleared up.
I had an appointment this past week in which I received a phone call from them cancelling due to the "hygienist needing to leave for an emergency". And since that day I've now started receiving texts from them regarding this 2018 bill that took them two years to notice. Needless to say, I would not recommend this practice to anyone due to the substandard billing and office staff. Chasing after them regarding their billing mistakes and dodging their multiple phone calls and mailings notifying you that you are almost due for a cleaning, is not worth choosing them. You will regret it shortly after.

I've been with this practice for years! I feel recently it has not been what it use to be. Today I went in to have my wisdom teeth extracted by their oral surgeon who is there only once a month. Scene: wisdom teeth pain since February, didn't go in cause who wants to in the midst of a pandemic. Go in about 4 weeks ago with Dr. Patel, which by the way, has to be one of the sweetest providers I've ever met. She's kind, sweet, beautiful, and very understanding.
She tells me they need to be removed. Fast forward 4 weeks later (because the oral surgeon is only there once a month) I'm sitting in the chair, office manager comes in, and tells me that they need full payment upfront before they touch me (mine was high, $800 high, which I understand, my insurance only cover 80% of it, it's different for everyone) How unprofessional to tell your patient that you need money before you care for them, in the midst of a pandemic, the day of my procedure, in the chair, waiting for the surgeon to cut into my mouth!
The decent thing to do was have the surgeon look at my xrays BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT, determine what's needed, run my insurance, and prepare me for the cost. Yes, I did sign papers that state payment is due at time of service, as I do with all the other office I go to. This "payment" caught me by surprise. You can't demand that much money, and not be open to payment plans.
Especially right now. At this point I'm angry, flustered, and anxious. Office manager was not listening to me, or was open to any resolution. They wanted my money before they helped me with my pain. Cherry on top their oral surgeon had no bedside manners. His assistant Javier was better than he was. Another incident that happen: Dr. Steve Kilpatrick (who is no longer there, they will not tell me where he moved too), has to be one of the most unprofessional, and under experience dentist I've ever encountered. Did a crown on my front tooth.
This happen about 2 years ago, I should've wrote a review then, but this has turned my life upside down. Initially he was just to place a small filing, but he suggested to make the chip bigger so the filling can keep. So he did. The filling fell off the same day. They were closed so he couldn't even see me on emergency basis. I had to go all weekend with literally half of my front tooth chipped off.
He then sent me to one of his sister offices, where the dentist there just placed another temporary filling. He then saw me the following week (by this point I had missed numerous days of work) He never once, and when I say never, I mean never did he tell me the extend of what happens when a crown is put in or needed. He proceeded to tell me a crown is needed.
I don't work in the dental industry, so I had no idea, I did not do my research because I trusted carillon and their providers. He shaved by front tooth down to a nub. Placed the ugliest temporary tooth in front of my smile, I had to wear this ugly yellow thing for months! He placed with a temporary bond, which NEVER held. This tooth would fall off at random times.
This situation made my life a living nightmare for months He had "permanent" tooth done twice because the color was awful, and never matched (now after consulting other dentist, and attorneys, I know that they will never had a perfectly matched tooth color!) After 4 months of dealing with this. I finally go to the headquarters where they make teeth. (Downtown Chicago, still continuously missing work) Had my teeth professionally photographed by a specialist, and try to get the best match possible. It's not. I've consulted many attorneys about filing a lawsuit against him and the mental, emotional, and physical damage he has done, but they all say they can not because it would cost more to bring on the lawsuit than it would cost to have it repaired.
They said he would not pay to get all my teeth redone, (honestly, that's what I think I need) just the one he damaged. Needles to say Carillon has never told me where he is. They never helped me with any other cost for the things he did. All they did was write off what it would've cost. And the only reason I stayed was because Dr. Patel helped me with this turmoil. And I'm still looking for an attorney who will help me

My daughter had a crown put on by Dr. Steven Kilpatrick who was employed by Carillon family dental on 03/21/2017. He had trouble with the crown that he made from the mold so he proceeded to grind my daughters tooth down even further to make the crown fit. My daughter cried and she complained but he continued. We were so unsatisfied with Carillon that we went to Steeple Run Family Dental in Lisle, IL where we had new x-rays done ( see attached. ) by DR. INTHUMATHY SIVANANTHAN DDS and she gave us a new quote of $1,921.40 to fix the tooth damage caused by Carillon.
My wife and daughter met with Dr. Kilpatrick and the office manager around 06/2017 and they agreed to pay for the repair from Steeple Run Family dental. Now when it is time to collect, Carillon is avoiding my calls and is refusing to pay.

It's amazing how people come in to take over a company and not tell there clients. Guess what this isn't carillon family dental anymore! I'm extremely busy and was scheduled a time with someone that isn't in their office. I will not go back after I had to sign a contract "quote estimate " for my sons filling before I even got the service done.
They could not provide me with my appointment due to time constraint even when I said is this enough time to get my teeth whitened and cleaned within 45 min of closing time? It made no sense to me, but the call center insisted on me coming even though I offered to come another day. I didn't get my work done and I want my old dentists back that I've been going to for years.

Well I went there some time ago first I went for a free consultation they took pictures and they did not tell me they where going to charge me. I was told I needed five teeth pulled. Later I went to Joliet on Chicago Street all I needed was fill in. Same think happened to my friend they told her she needed five teeth pulled. Botton line I believe one of the Doctor is pulling teeth for profit.

Good dentist. Horrible management! The oral surgeon just left a week before my surgery and I called to check the time and they were like oh so he's not here anymore. I'm like OKAY SO WHEN WERE U GOING TO TELL ME THIS?!?! The day of my surgery? I ending up going to another oral surgeon and OMG HE WAS THE BEST AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Suburban oral surgeons! Honestly best experience ever of having my wisdom teeth taken out! Go to them and not this shitty place

Let's be honest, no one loves the dentist but aside from the shots and drills, I really love it here. Dr Sean is a great dentist and cares about your well being. The entire staff is very friendly and take the extra step to remember who I am and small details about my wife and I. I had some major issues with a couple of teeth, instead of taking a look and sending me on my way, Dr Sean not only called a specialist but also got me in to see him that day! Again, not the biggest fan of the dentist but I love coming to Carillon Dental!

The staff is friendly, punctual, professional, and passionate. I feel I am in good hands here. Lisa was wonderful during my dental cleaning and very gentle. She takes time to listen and addresses all questions. Dr. Sean is brilliant and very friendly. He takes time to explain options and procedures thoroughly. It is easy to tell that he loves his work and his patients.
The front desk staff is very accommodating and friendly as well. Treatment plans are explained thoroughly, so you have a strong understanding of what portion of the procedures will be covered.

I am so upset with this place i don't even want to give them one star. DONT GO esp if bringing kids! I would like to start off by saying i originally had an issue with canceling appointment a day ahead and them trying to charge me $50, however, my husband has a career that is very un-predictable and when making his appointment they knew this and did NOT mention there fee they charge.
My husband left to a different dentist after that. I was always getting bills that did NOT match what insurance would say. Finally being fed up enough with constant hassle of arguing charges i switch the rest of the family to my husbands new dentist who did x-rays on my daughter and now needs a root canal and cap on a tooth she will have for 5-7 more years!
When i call back to Carillon to ask why this cavity was never filled and fixed i was told its not routine to give x-rays unless they feel necessary. Really my daughter is 6 and has gone there every 6 months since she first started seeing a dentist. I called insurance and x-rays are preventative and covered, so they clearly just dropped the ball. I talked to other families with small children who go there and there kids did get x-rays.
I have asked every dentist since that i been calling around to to get this root canal set up and am being told YES they would have done x-rays. Now my poor child has to have laughing gas and a root canal done due to the lack of care they gave her.they are all about there money and not about the best care of there patients. Dont waste your time there is plenty of other good dentists!

PLEASE DO NOT GO! I went there only once w/a Groupon for teeth whitening. I never intended on coming back! They told me they were going to schedule temporary appt for 6 months from now for check up. I never intended on coming back but receptionist insisted was very push so said fine you guys will cal back to confirm right? Sure. No one called to confirm.
I have receive text message only but text message did not give me option to cancel appt vi text like other places do. I figured if they don't give you option to cancel, there must not be a lat fee. Sure enough there is! $50 no show fee! Most places it is $25 or none at all. manager was rude and they would not waive my fee. Oh well. Let them have my $50 I will never be back again! Even during the whitening the hygienist was really mean and making inappropriate comments. Please save yourself some time and $

I've given this practice 5 stars in the past because I love Dr. Gierman. The practice has changed in the last year, part of a bigger group, I think. The staff in front is no longer so friendly and patient-oriented, they are salespeople. And I just found out Dr. Gierman is gone. My entire extended family goes to Dr. Gierman, and I hope we're able to track him down and find he's still practicing somewhere else.
But Carillon? I think not. My daughter was just there yesterday for her appt. with Dr. Gierman, who wasn't there, and they didn't tell her he was gone for good. I just found out when calling for an appt. So very disappointed, but absolutely can no longer recommend.

While I liked the dental staff and didn't have a negative experience at Carillon I did choose to switch dental offices for a two reasons: - They upsell you like crazy. I must have been asked if I wanted invisalign dozens of times over a 2 year period. - They schedule 6 month check ups for when they know the dentist isn't going to be in the office.
The first time I went for a check up and the dentist wasn't there I assumed there was some sort of emergency, no big deal. And then it happened again. And then my husband was told that you have to specify that you want to see the dentist when making an appointment for a checkup. (I recall seeing the dentist maybe one out of three or four visits.) I just find this odd and feel more comfortable having a dentist available to review x-rays, actually look at my teeth, make sure everything's ok, etc. Other than that it's fine. I had a filling here that was perfectly normal and the hygenists are really nice and gentle. The dentist is nice too, when he's around.

0 star review! The worst dentist ever. My son was recommended Invisalign, they took impressions, gave us only two trays, within a few weeks, he lost another tooth, trays didn't fit, went back told them, they still recommended Invisalign, they took new impressions. I told them that the treatment didn't seem to be the correct one, since he was still losing teeth.
They pushed the Invisalign. 3 weeks later he loses another tooth, new trays didn't fit anymore. I told them. After a month new tooth didn't come down, I had to take my son to another dental office because this Carillon dental only cares about making money not about your health. New dentist said my son needs surgery for the new tooth. Carillon dental wants me to pay for a full treatment of Invisalign even when it is not working, even when they cannot take impressions yet until he gets his new tooth.
They just don't care. I asked the staff to have Dr. Sheeva to call me back, nobody will call me back, they just send my invoice to collections. Wow wow just wow, they cannot be worse! Watch out for them, I'm sure they are going to recommend Invisalign for you, even if that's not the right treatment. Btw $5000 for two plastic trays! You gotta be kidding! I'm sure the trays were no more than $20 in materials. I just got robbed!

When I found out that I had to change my dentist due to false billing issues, I was supremely bummed out. I had my usual suspicions with new providers and I am glad I was wrong with Carillon. I had Joe as my hygienist. He is a very kind, sweet and straight-forward kind of guy who knew exactly what he was doing because I declined xrays for personal reasons. The, I saw Dr. Gierman. Again, another great guy, told me everything I needed to know. I'll be going back for additional services in the future and will post an update, however, thus far, a great first-time experience with this group!

My husband and I started going here about a year ago when my husband was having a major toothache. They were very accommodating and he was able to see Dr. Sivananthan the same day that we called (they must reserve a little time for that type of emergency). On another occasion the same type of thing happened to me and poof next thing I knew they were taking care of it. I've seen both Dr. Sivananthan (female) and Dr. Gierman (male), both of whom are very friendly and professional.
They have two other Dentists there that I haven't met, but the friend who recommended this place to me has been seen by them and she thinks they're great too. Gene has been my hygenist and he's wonderful - gentle yet thorough, friendly and talkative yet doesn't make you feel like you have to talk a lot while you have stuff in your mouth (which we all know can be super awkward).
Another plus: they call you a week before your appointment to make sure it still works in your schedule (planning 6 months ahead can be hard) AND the day before so there's virtually no way you can forget. The front desk staff is awesome too. I just love going to the dentist now!
