Horrible experience with this office! Moved here recently and my former dentist sent my records twice because the office said they didn't receive them. Then, when they finally did get them, they claimed my dentist took the wrong pictures and that I would need a new full set. Dr. Young cares very little about my health and I care even less about his pocketbook which, he obviously was trying to pad. Cancelled all appointments for my spouse and me. Won't be returning.

I've lived in several different areas in my life so consequently have had several different dentists! I have to say Dr Young is by far the best dentist I have EVER had! He is patient, thorough, and listens to his patients! Such a gentle soul who knows his stuff! He is one of Little Nipomo's greatest TREASURES! Love his staff too, which I believe trickles down from the top!

My wife and I are here today. We continue to be impressed by the professionalism of both Dr. Young and the office staff (headed by Dr. Young's wife). Too frequently we have had situations where you have a good doctor (ie internist) and the office staff "muck-up" the insurance or other such paperwork. I would give more than 5 stars if I had the ability to do so.
Case in point, my wife had to have a root canal. Typically, this is farmed our to a specialist who performs this daily. Dr. Young reserved a block of time and did the procedure himself. This was the first time my wife had this procedure and she was expecting the worst. Fortunately, she only had minor discomfort and Dr. Young explained what he was doing the entire time. If you are new to the area, or are dissatisfied with your current Dentist, Dr. Young is accepting new patients.

I highly recommend Dr Young and will travel the 20 mins to have him be my dentist. After a dentist in Orcutt not being honest with me I returned to Dr Young. I had a bridge fall out and his staff was very nice and helpful with my insurance as they wanted to give me 2 caps and a partial (I thought they didn't do partials anymore that is sooo old school who wears them) and it would have cost me so much more because the insurance would not cover as much. Dr Young told me he would do the bridge for less then the cost of the partial and 2 caps. Dr Young does great work and has state of the art equipment he did a 3D image of my teeth to have the bridge made and the temporary bridge fits perfectly. Can't wait for my permanent bridge to be done.

I think Dr Young (from Silicon Valley) has appropriate skills as a dentist, and I believe he wants to serve and help, but his staff (other than his wife who is wonderful) needs some rehabilitation. During a procedure, his "assistant" nicked my gum twice, invaded my personal space the entire time (I had to ask her to please not too.) I believe.his staff is young, and inexperienced.
On my most recent hygenist appointment, (third visit) she also, nicked my gum at the very end of the cleaning. I am guessing she lost focus, or wanted to rush to be done. I won't be returning here. Perhaps I am overly picky, but I want what I want, it's my dollar, and it's MY BODY.

I started seeing Dr Young right after he bought the practice from the former Dentist. I had a tooth that I knew was in trouble. Dr. Young said that it had to be removed. I was concerned, I have no missing teeth. I have had a lot of dental work, some crowns etc. I asked what could be done? He explained that he would remove the tooth, set a post. Put a tooth on the post.
All would be well. The price, most likely $2000.00. If the post did not take the most would be $4000.00. I agreed hoping for the $2000.00. Late 2015 he removes the tooth, installs something telling me it would need to heal. Come back January 2016, I did he says something is wrong. He does some else. Come back in 4 months. The price is $4000.00 but no more this is the most it will cost. April he does something else, now everything is ready.
Come back in 4 months to finish. July, he cuts my mouth again. As he has done each time in the past, my mouth hurts for days after each visit. Now he is ready to finish, oh I own $2000.00 more. I said wait I have paid already Receptionist says let me run your card if you have paid we will credit you on your next visit. I prove I paid and now there are more charges.
Different than we discussed, so the new max charge is over $6000.00. and the killer is I am still missing a tooth 12 months after this whole mass started. Oh by the way it is his wife now doing the billing. All of the people from the former Dentist have left. And the pain continues. My mouth as well as my wallet. You can not trust the price you are quoted. The pain is going to be high. The service is just as poor. Clay Barks
