Practicing general dentistry in Bend for more than 20 years, Dr. Hester's passion is helping people achieve a beautiful, healthy smile. His interest in dentistry began at an early age deciding on dentistry as a career in 7th grade. His college years were spent at the University of Portland, graduating with a B.S. in Biology.
Many diseases of the teeth and surrounding tissues cannot be seen when your dentist examines your mouth. Finding and treating dental problems at an early stage can save time, money and often unnecessary discomfort. There are many benefits to having dental radiographs taken. Any additional questions or concerns should be discussed with your dentist.
Cosmetic bonding is a procedure in which a tooth-colored, composite resin material is applied to your teeth and sculpted to cover or replace a problem area in your smile. The material bonds to your teeth like glue. It is then "cured" or hardened with a special ultraviolet light. Cosmetic bonding is faster and cheaper than veneers or crowns, and can thus be a good option to make small cosmetic improvements to your teeth. Unlike veneers and crowns, bonding can be done within one office visit since nothing has to be made at a dental laboratory.
If you struggle with teeth that are decayed, damaged or stained, a dental crown may be a great option for you. A dental crown (often called a cap) covers the tooth and restores it to its original color, shape and size. Decay is removed and cleaned from the tooth and a highly accurate impression is made from the prepared surface.

I absolutely love this dentist practice. Everyone, and I mean everyone (reception, billing, dental hygienists, and dentists) are incredibly nice. The practice is a very clean and safe environment; they follow all the right health guidelines and precautions which is wonderful. Very thorough cleaning and exam but also gentle so it's not like you're leaving with bloody and swollen gums. I would definitely recommend this spot to people.

The person who took me for X-rays, cleaned my horrible teeth her name was Debbie so nice walked me through everything she was going to do, 4. Did not hurt me at all. 5. If your afraid of the Dentist you don't have to be here. 6. The Dentist who came in after explained everything I will need going forward so sweet 7. I highly recommend this Dental Office.

My dental hygienist Missy C. was extremely pleasant, professional, thoughtful, caring, and an absolute delight. She greeted me in the lobby with what I could only imagined as a smile beneath her mask. She was very attentive throughout the entire visit as she continued to make me feel comfortable at all times. She was extremely gentle and yet through with her cleaning and examination of my teeth. I cannot say enough nice things about Missy and my exceptional experience there at BEND FAMILY DENTISTRY.

Dr. Hester and his clinical team are fabulous! Our family has been under the care of Bend Family Dentistry for at least a decade, and can't stress enough how attentive they are to our needs. Dr Hester and his staff couldn't be better. They are so compassionate and understanding! I really think his first criteria for hiring is attitude toward patient care. I was recently able to get a family member with extreme tooth pain in right away and it was such a relief. They go out of their way to be accommodating, from front desk to back rooms. I highly recommend!

Took time to get to know me not just rotate people in and out the door. Gave me play-by-play information as work was being done and asked how I was doing frequently to make sure I was comfortable. I have not been to the dentist on a regular basis for over 15 years due to childhood fears. Bend Family Dentistry employees have done everything to make sure I'm comfortable at every step. Two cleanings and a filling have been the best dental experiences in my life.

I was a bit nervous about receiving my first involved dental procedure, a crown. Much to my surprise, it wasn't too unpleasant! I'm sure the nitrous helped but beyond that Adam McFarlin, clinical assistant, is a rare gem. He created a soothing spa like atmosphere with a memory foam cushion, blanket and digital fireplace. He put me at ease throughout the procedure with a number of kind gestures and clinical expertise. Dr Hester always does a great job and they did a beautiful in-house fabrication. This is a very well managed and professional operation and I highly recommend these folks!

Great experience at Bend Family Dentistry today. Chipped a tooth and they were able to get me in today. Staff and office was great. Bend Dental is a well run practice focused on quality care. I get reminders in advance of my appointments, and never have to wait when I get there. The staff are competent, through and a pleasure to work with. Dr. Jones is a friendly, highly skilled dentist who has extracted two troubled teeth for me, the most recent one on 11/23/21. He explained why they needed to come out and my options after they did.
While not a pleasant experience, I had complete confidence in his skill and ability, which helped me relax, knowing I was in good hands and that I'd made the right decision. I would recommend Bend Family Dental to anyone in Bend looking for quality dental care.
