As we all know, moving out of state can be stressful, especially locating new medical professionals. When I experienced excruciating dental pain, I needed to quickly find a dentist to take a look at my tooth. I did a quick google search for a dentist in D.C. and Washington Center for Dentistry was the first dental office that appeared in my search.
I completed the online intake form and within minutes I received a very pleasant call from Michelle. In speaking with her, something told me I was already in good care. She introduced the practice, the dentists, the mission and most importantly the care I would receive 6

The Washington Center for Dentistry is a very impressive group indeed; It all begins with a beautiful, large, and comfortable open sign-in and waiting area with an eye-popping view of K street from the 8th floor. The doctors and staff are dedicated, focused, and personable, and the goal is clearly the very best dental care. This, for me, came in the skills and very pleasant demeanor of Dr. Elana Shlansky whose insistence on perfection soon revealed itself as a kind of signature. All very agreeable! The whole Washington Center for Dentistry package is extraordinary! Take your mouth there! you won't regret it.

Can't speak for any of the doctors, I've only had the experience of dealing with Dr. Shclansky. For one, she is incredibly rude and has a unfriendly demeanor. But hey, who gives a shit if she can do her job. News flash. She can't. On top of the incredible rudeness, I go in to get a mouth guard fitted. They try to put it in and I start gagging like crazy.
She proceeds to blame me saying that I should have told her I had a strong gag reflex before she treated me. Ummm. isn't that your job to figure that stuff out? She literally tried to blame me for her treatment failing. Also, I feel scammed by this place. I only chose this place because if you google "dentist Washington DC" they are the first place to show up and they have 200+ 5 star reviews. I'm entirely convinced pretty much all of those reviews are fake.
I went on Yelp and saw that they were 2 stars and people had the same issues I did. Don't fall for this shit. This place will milk you and when you undoubtedly have a bad experience, they will tell you it's your fault and ask you to come back and pay more money. In short, the people who work here are legit sociopaths and do not have a shred of empathy. Don't fall for the fake reviews. I unfortunately did and I'm $2000 short for it.

I've never been more excited to see a dentist. Dr. Deutsch and the entire team are fantastic. From my first visit over 10 years ago until now I felt best taken care off from the front staff, to Rachel my hygienist everyone is super professional and caring. Always feel I'm getting the best advice and long time care; never feeling pressured into anything. Weird to say but I love going to this dentist! Always dragged it before. Thank you to everyone at Washington Center for Dentistry.

I've been going to see Dr. Deutsch for almost 35 years. He and his team are professionals, but also have a human touch that is what I used to expect of all service providers yet rarely if ever find anymore. The facilities are clean, beautiful and state of the art (as are their covid protocols). And my teeth, well, only one cavity in all these decades. I did chip a tooth and the veneers were works of art. Is there really anything more that one could ask for from one's dentist?

I have been going to WCD for a few years now and I always receive exceptional service and care. Dr. Fordjour is an excellent dentist and all of the hygienists and front desk staff are consistently professional and proactive. In particular, Katrina (front desk) went above and beyond to handle an insurance billing concern I had a few months back. While I wish that my insurance could be billed directly, WCD is prompt with sending out invoices so that insurance reimbursement is quick and painless.

Excellent comprehensive dental practice. The dentists are highly skilled and supported by a staff of pleasant and professional dental technicians, assistants, and hygienists. The administrative staff is equally professional, always pleasant and polite. Going to the dentist is not high on most people's list, but this practice makes the experience as pleasant (and painless) as a dental visit can be. Highly recommend!

Close to five years ago I had a really bad toothache for few days. I went to few dentists and no one could tell me what was wrong. Finally I called WCD and made an appointment and to find out it was a root canal. Dr. Katsaros took care of it. I was so relieved and happy. Everyone at WCD are professional and helpful. I especially love Rachel who is my new hygienist. She is outstanding. She gives me a thorough cleaning. Very gentle. Answers all my questions. The absolute best!

Avoid at all costs! If I could give zero stars I would. We were completely unsatisfied with their service and their business practices are highly questionable! They completely overcharge for service, which they bill at the time of the service, leaving you to get reimbursed from your insurance company. And sInce they charge well above the norm, it is likely you'll be stuck with a portion of the bill; e.g.' they charged my wife $465 for a simple cleaning. Unfortunately, it was my wife's first time seeing a dentist in this country and didn't recognize the scam.

I cannot recommend this dental office enough. It is wonderful! Excellent dentists. Caring and experienced staff. Very gentle. They care about your teeth and are honest. No trying to rip you off. They also do everything to make sure you do not feel pain. One of the staff, Trina, worked way after hours one time when I needed some dental business paperwork.
She could have waited to provide it to me later on, but wanted to make sure that I had it. They are all like Trina. Very professional, oriented towards service and excellence.

I have visited the practice many times. The dentists that I have seen are great. However, the front desk left a bad taste in my mouth, so to speak. The deadpan receptionist refused to tell me or look into, who had set my appointment one day prior. I was quoted a price for a yearly cleaning. When I went to pay, I was also billed for an evaluation and fluoride treatment. This should have been explained as additional charges prior to treatment. Finally, the last two appointments that I made were rescheduled by the practice.

Post-COVID-19, I've been dreading going to the dentist but finally broke down and made an appointment to get my teeth cleaned recently at Washington Center For Dentistry. I was really impressed with how streamlined and efficient they were about taking proper precautions to make sure patients felt safe and healthy. The waiting room had designated seating areas ensuring people were six feet apart, there were hand sanitizing stations and my hygienist was patient, kind and very empathetic toward me feeling comfortable.
They even had special equipment they used while cleaning my teeth -- I think it helped suck away air particles in the space between me and my hygienist, not sure. All in all, it was one of the better environments I've been in for medical reasons since the pandemic started. Kudos to their team for so thoughtfully and carefully setting everything up and following guidance to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

I have been coming to Washington Center for Dentistry for several years. I primarily see Dr. Katsaros and Soosan (dental hygienist).I cannot begin to tell you how much better my dental health is since coming here. They not only care about your teeth but your whole being. They are so knowledgeable about how your dental health and overall general health is connected and how you can improve both! Everyone is so nice and caring from the front desk to the doctors and everyone in between. I highly recommend!

This is a great place to go for dental appointments--my hygenist was one of the best I've had. Unfortunately i was charged $395 for a basic cleaning and X-Rays.because my insurance was out of network. They never told me until AFTER the appointment--and i gave my insurance info upfront (which is a PPO). $395 for a basic cleaning and XRay was a big surprise. I wish they had told me previously that I was not in network.

This place is deceptive and does not accept insurance! I called the office to find out if they accept Metlife, and was told that they do. It was only when I got to the office for my appointment, that I was told they are out-of-network and only "work" with Metlife. I would have to pay up front (for a standard cleaning - $317) and MetLife would reimburse me.
I was considering leaving, but was told by all of the receptionists to stay because I was already there, try them out and just see how much I would end up paying. I went to talk with the dental assistant, who spoke to an office manager, who was able to pull up my Metlife insurance plan. They both sat with me, showed me that my insurance would cover 80% of the cleaning, and then explicitly said that I would pay about $54 after insurance. Based on this estimate, I decided to stay. However, about a week later, I was reimbursed by Metlife and had to pay about $80 for the standard cleaning.
The office is pretty and comfortable, but they're not transparent about their insurance policy, and their charges are over the top expensive. They think they can provide services that no one else can provide (like a cleaning?) and that justifies their cost, but they are deceptive and you would be better off going somewhere else.

Expert dentists who really care about their patients. I always feel comfortable here, and I know they are the best in their field. If you've put off going to the dentist because of past experiences, the doctors and staff will change your mind about dental work. You will actually enjoy your visit. Yes, they are that good!

I had a great experience with Dr. Fordjour and his team. I learned that I had to have an emergency tooth extraction. I emailed Dr. Fordjour's staff and they were able to work me in for an appointment (the day before Thanksgiving, no less!). Dr. Fordjour pulled my tooth painlessly and quickly. He literally transformed the worst dental procedure (tooth extraction - ouch) into a pleasant visit. I would definitely recommend him!

The office is beautifully decorated. I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Rinaldi, he's very friendly, knowledgeable and trustworthy dentist which is hard to find. I took one star off because they don't take insurance. That's their right, but they should be transparent on pricing. I called and asked how much a cleaning without x-rays is and got one price but at my appointment my bill was $100 higher!
That should be a flat rate that they should post on their website. Just read MJ V. review which said an evaluation was tacked on to their cleaning, I wonder if that is what happened to me? Either way that should be included in the price quoted for a cleaning to a new patient. I asked the front desk about the price for something else and couldn't get an answer. If you're paying a lot of money you need to know the price up front, it can't be "I don't know, depends."

I have worked with Dr. Katsaros and I am extremely happy with the results. He is extremely knowledgable, hard working and has a lot of experience in his field which mean that if there is a problem he probably knows how to fix it. Dr Katsaros listened to my concerns and made sure I was happy with the final results. The entire staff at the WCD was nice. I like the fact that it is easy to get an emergency appointment. You will never have to wait too long to see a doctor.

I have previously received excellent dental services. But when you schedule a routine cleaning, you are forced to pay for an evaluation as well despite having had an annual checkup 6 months previously and having healthy teeth/gums. In my recent visit I expressly stated before the start of the cleaning that I only wanted the cleaning. I was only seen by the technician who did the cleaning.
Upon checkout, I was also charged for the evaluation despite not having been seen by my dentist. When I protested, I was told this is their policy. This was the first I learned of their POLICY.

They told me my MetLife Insurance was in-network--but that they would submit the paperwork and then the insurance check would come to me. However, I would have to pay for the appoint at the time of service. I was ok with this until I showed up at 7 am for my appointment and learned that my insurance was not in-network, so I would receive out-of-network benefits. I told the front desk that I thought that was pretty deceptive and left.

This is a review about the booking process. Despite my repeated attempts to ask them not to do so, WCD insists on sending a barrage of emails, text messages and voicemails a few days before your appointment. Turns out, if you do not respond within a few hours, they email, text and call you again. They simply do not respect a customer's wishes for how to be communicated with.

Beware. They don't accept insurance. When I called for the appointment, the receiptionist did not make it clear. She phrased it like so: "We accept payment from the patients and then file the insurance claims forms for you." Well that's code for we're out of network and your not getting anything back. Luckily I read the new patient forms thoroughly and began asking questions.
I even called BCBS who explained to me. I hightailed it out of there. Lol 3 stars because the receptionist was nice, and I love the location. When/if they began accepting insurance I'll return.

Disclaimer: This review is for RAQUEL the receptionist who is the reason why I'm rating this dental practice a 4/5 rather than my originally intended 1 star. It's really unfortunate, you see, that they are very vague and inexplicit about their claims/insurance policy. They have a beautiful clinic with all sorts of accommodations. Staff and Dr. Katsons were extremely helpful and friendly.
However I am new to the DC area, and when I asked the lady whom I talked to on the phone inquiring about insurance plans, she made it seem like Aetna (my insurance) was a form of payment at the clinic. No one EVER mentioned paying out of pocket up front, no one explicitly stated that they were out of network. I only figured that out as I was leaving. $500 up front for X-rays and cleaning? (Keep in mind I came in and asked to see a doctor regarding my wisdom tooth-- I didn't want cleaning, I'm in pain!). Ummm, what!?
Maybe it's a California thing, but I didn't understand the insurance policy situation. It seemed like the woman whom I talked to on the phone was just trying to set me up with an appointment, "Oh yeah we take Aetna!" Yes, you take Aetna. but not really. Raquel was incredibly sweet, took the time to explain the situation with my frantic mother, and filed the claim through Aetna for me.
She was extremely accommodating, and could tell I was really confused. So thank you Raquel! I'm sure I just misunderstood, but she cleared the air quickly and took care of all the insurance claims/hassle. She's a sweetie. Just beware that they are in fact out of network, because that wasn't explicitly mentioned prior to my appointment.
And make sure they know exactly what you're coming in for-- cleaning is routine, I know, but in the end I only got a referral to yet another out of network doctor. Problem still not solved, but excellent customer service from this woman who could tell I was extremely confused.
