I found the dentist on the ZocDoc website and was able to make an appointment the night before without having to call into the office. I had an emergency dental case, and when I walked in I was greeted by soft spoken and kind receptionists, and they answered any questions I had. I only had a five minute waiting time until Dr. Peretz came to the room to examine me, he was honest, charismatic and reassuring.
He was able to fix a front chipped tooth and made it look better than before, and now I feel confident when smiling in pictures and speaking to others again. He offered a cleaning for my next visit and further examinations to address other dental issues I have. I will definitely come back to this dental office, and I recommend Dr. Peretz to anyone who appreciates doctors who have character and is a master at their art.

This is a friendly place but wouldn't say I had the best experience here. I got a bunch of fillings for my cavities; one of them came out just after a few months, and the others left me with persistent discomfort and pain. Had to get nearly every one replaced by another dentist. I felt like the doctor was always rushing and didn't listen to my concerns patiently. He also recommended unnecessary and invasive treatments (like a root canal) when they were really not needed.

I've been seeing Dr Peretz for almost 15 years! I appreciate how comfortable and welcomed everyone in the office makes me feel. Dr Peretz always follows up after more extensive work, and makes sure I'm satisfied. He keeps up with the latest technologies and procedures so I feel confident about my oral health. Thank you Georgetown Smile!

I trust Dr. Peretz and his team who were responsive to my concerns. His hygienist was very competent, caring, and used the latest treatment methods. Free parking was available in their garage with a call to their office, and there was little waiting for my turn 'in the dentist chair'. His location south of Georgetown University is easily accessible from both VA and DC.

I have been to Georgetown smile twice. My first visit went well and actually left me with a feeling of wanting to return. However on the second visit the dentist insisted on doing all of the fillings on my teeth in order to "knock it all out" in one visit (which I had couple to do on each side). When I went to go pay I was unaware of the ridiculous price I would be paying and was told there was no type of payment plan I could participate in.
I was also using my insurance so I was unsure of why the remaining balance was that much. I also asked during my first visit of the estimate I would be paying for my second visit and it was no where close to the number I was told. Of course I paid and went about my day. As I thought that was the most inconvenient situation I have been in I'm starting to realize how much worst the situation is because two weeks later my teeth are all still super sensitive, painful and uncomfortable!
I can barely eat and drink due to the pain! So I decided to call and explain my concerns. The receptionist was respectful while I expressed my concerns and told me she would relay the message to my dentist and have him call me back which unfortunately did not happen. I'm very understanding and waited out a couple days for a call back. I set up an appointment a week later which I couldn't make due to work and when I called to let them know I was unable to come in I once again expressed my concerns to the receptionist.
She said she would let the dentist know as soon as he was finished with his client and have him call me back. Of course two days later I'm sitting here writing this review because I have YET to hear back from the dentist. This is the most inconsiderate, unprofessional and disrespectful dentist I have ever been to! I do not recommend at all! If you're looking for a dentist who truly cares about your wants and needs please don't waste your time and come here!
Oh and by the way what I originally came for during my first appointment which was suppose to be a consultation for a new crown was basically ignored due to the dentist wanting to handle my fillings and some gum treatment that I probably didn't truly need. What frustrates me the most is that my teeth were not in pain AT ALL and now my teeth feel in worst condition than before.

I recently broke a tooth and was disappointed by my current dentist. I called Georgetown Smiles and they got me in quickly. Very nice, professional and great repair to my front tooth! Can't thank Dr Peretz enough for his service! I am now a patient and will return for cleaning in a few days! I recommend Georetown Smiles to anyone!

Ive been going to Dr Peretz for years and even after moving away, I still make appointments when I'm in town. Best dentist I've ever had! Doesn't push fillings or getting work done. (A lot of dentists do!) unless something becomes a real problem. I've always been skeptical of dentists, so I am really happy I found him and his practice.

Wow, I wish I read some of these reviews before going here. I have never left a review of a business before, but after my experience here, I feel obligated to warn others. I travel a good bit, so I have been to many dentists, and Dr. Peretz is far and away the worst one I have ever been to. I made an appointment to get fitted for a new retainer after losing mine, and on the phone, the receptionist quoted me for $250 per retainer (top and bottom).
I wrote this down and added the appointment date to my calendar. After my appointment, they charged me over $400 PER retainer. I told them that this was nearly double what they originally quoted me, and they said that I was mistaken and that they never would have given me that quote. Not only that, but during the appointment, Dr. Peretz kept insisting I get a teeth cleaning from him even though I told him I had gotten my teeth cleaned just a few weeks prior; he would not take no for an answer until I had to outright tell him to stop.
It also took Dr. Peretz four tries to get a proper mold of my teeth (previous dentists have never taken more than 1). An appointment that normally would take 20 minutes took nearly an hour. When I went to pick up my retainers the following week, I was given aligners, not retainers. I asked to send them back and get retainers like I asked for, and he said he would be unable to refund me for the aligners as they source them from an outside provider.
I was outraged and finally accepted that I'll just have to wear aligners, but the top aligner didn't even come close to fitting properly. I had to go in for a third appointment to get additional molds, and I was told that I would get notified when the new aligners were ready. After 4 weeks, I had still not heard back, so I called them and they told me the aligners had been ready for weeks.
They forgot to contact me. When I went in for the FOURTH time to pick up the aligners, I was not seen by the doctor until 35 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. I will never return. Avoid at all costs.

Dr. Perez and his team are consistently excellent, personable and compassionate. He takes the time to confirm I am comfortable with not only anesthesia but even a blanket and sunglasses. They have given me practical tips for improving my dental hygiene that have saved me both time and money. His receptionist is also tenacious in working with my insurance to ensure my services are covered. I am truly carefree when in their care.

The team at Georgetown smile are the best I have ever experienced. They are very good at communicating a plan to deal with your dental care needs. Although they are located in Georgetown their prices are very reasonable. Dr Peretz is a excellent dentist he ensures you are comfortable and the entire experience is as easy as possible. They have the latest technology and give you a wide variety of options to choose from. I highly recommend them to everyone.

My family and I have been coming to Georgetown Smile for several years. Until recently, we had no issues and were satisfied with service. Last week, I brought my daughter in for routine cleaning. Due to Covid restrictions, I was asked to wait outside so I didn't see Dr. Peretz until after the visit. I was surprised to see that he was improperly wearing his mask--it was loose with the nose sticking out (we all know the look).
My daughter informed me that the mask was like this the entire time she saw him, including when he was leaning over her to inspect her teeth after cleaning--basically, breathing down into her open mouth. In an environment like this, I get that there is no way to avoid some risk and that you are mostly assuming that it is unlikely that Covid is in the office.
But if there is anyone I am expecting to strictly follow Covid rules, it is a health care provider in a health care setting. This is a deal breaker for us and we will be finding a new provider.

Dr. Peretz is an excellent dentist, and the hygienists are also phenomenal. I have been a patient for 3 years. They have always been very straightforward with me about costs, and they explain which procedures need to be prioritized and which can wait. The front desk personnel are very knowledgeable about insurance and have always helped me resolve any questions that I have. I have been to dentists I don't care for, and it was refreshing to find one right in Georgetown that I trust.

I don't typically write reviews, but I had such a great experience with Dr. A.J. Peretz, so I decided to write this review for Georgetown Smile. Going to see a dentist is far from anyone's top 5 favorite activities, but Dr. Peretz made sure that my visit was painless and comfortable. He thoroughly explained the issue that was causing me discomfort and offered several potential short-term and long-term solutions taking into account my upcoming international travel plans. Dr. Peretz is knowledgeable and attentive. An added bonus is that he is multi-lingual, so I could communicate with him in my native tongue. I definitely recommend Dr. Peretz and would come back to Georgetown Smile again.

I have been putting off going to the dentist because my insurance is accepted by very few local dentist offices and I have to designate an office as my preferred provider a month in advance. I did a lot of crosschecking reviews (between Zocdoc, Google, and Yelp have you noticed that most dentists receive very poor ratings? 3 stars is actually above average.
I was about 3 months overdue for my 6-month cleaning when I went in to Georgetown Smile this week. Every single person I interacted with welcomed me to the practice. The office is quite small and intimate. My hygienist was light-handed and didn't give me too much grief for not flossing daily. Dr. Peretz was personable and took the time to talk to me about a few concerns I had.
I elected to walk to the office from the Farragut West Metro station (it's a hike!) but I learned they have a few designated parking spots so I think next time I will just drive. Waiting to make sure everything goes okay with billing my insurance (which can be a huge headache and affect how I feel about various healthcare providers), but I hope to be upgrading these folks to 5 stars in the future!

I've been going here for a little over a year now. Dr. Peretz and the staff are all very personable. The office is run efficiently and there is rarely a wait. I never feel pressured into any additional procedures and the cleaning is always done well. I will continue to come here as long as I live in the area, excellent care!

Georgetown smile is a unique find and amazing!. Dr Peretz is a highly skilled professional, committed to providing the best dental treatment possible in a warm, friendly environment. Beyond that, he is an amazing man with a genuine heart for his patients. He is never in a hurry. I always feel like a valued customer and friend as he delivers a personalized, dental experience. If I had to describe Dr. Peretz and his practice in one word, I would say superb! Thank you, Dr. Peretz! You are the best!

The reason I keep coming back to Gtown Smile is that Dr. Peretz always takes time to explain the results of my exam and what I can be doing to help my teeth (stop grinding them). He even suggests some easy and affordable ideas such as a dental night guard. The staff are helpful and make me feel very comfortable. My dental hygienist did a great job cleaning all my teeth. The front desk was amazing at getting my dental insurance processed correctly because I only had my health care card. I recommend the team at Gtown smile wholeheartedly.

My son and I are both patients of Dr. Peretz. I appreciate that Dr. Peretz. respects the patient's time as much as we try to respect his time. I've never had to wait longer than 2 minutes (and that's a stretch) to see him. We've never have to wait for an extended period of time to schedule an appointment. Very personable, honest and I have seen a major difference in my teeth since becoming his patient.

Dr. Peretz and the staff at Georgetown Smile are great. I have no anxiety about going to the dentist. Dr. Peretz and his staff are mindful and compassionate when it comes to your care. Your comfort is considered and taken into account during treatments. The office is accommodating, punctual, and always inviting. Everyone is always so friendly too.

I visited this office today. I don't have one negative thing to say. There was on site parking. The office staff is diverse and very empathetic. Lauren & Amy are great at explaining things and informing you of the best options for you! The doctor was light hearted and friendly and was sensitive to the amount of pain both my mouth and pockets will soon endure. I've been putting off getting dental work done because of these reasons but now I'm actually looking forward to it.

Ahh where to start? i went to peretz for a few visits mostly out of convenience. he was just a few blocks from where i lived at the time. im putting more 'detail' in this review of his practice because i feel others who live in this area should be well informed about how this man runs it. i have pretty great teeth and thats not bragging, that IS the truth. and i also take great care of my teeth: floss, brush, mouthwash, avoid eating after certain times, dont smoke, dont drink soda etc. my very first visit was to establish myself in the area. i knew of one trouble area which my previous dentist was keeping an eye on and since i have no symptoms, there wasnt much to do. peretz took a few seconds to poke around and told me i had at least eight cavities! and they needed to be filled ASAP or i would need a root canal. i listened and politely declined. this did not please the man the next year i again had my teeth cleaning. this time peretz told me my teeth were in great shape(no cavities) but that i needed to wear a retainer which he could make for me. again i politely declined. he also told me i had TMJ. when i asked him what would the treatment be, he suggested surgery. i went 'uh huh. yeah, no way jose'. again this did not please the guy the last time i went to his office, he didnt come in at all. the hygienist who did the cleaning, gave me some teaching on flossing improvement and said that they had a bunch of samples of the exact floss which she wanted me to use. she left my room and asked peretz about the samples but came back empty handed and said they didnt have the samples. womp womp after this i stopped going because i went to bruce steele who is way nicer and more professional than peretz. im almost cringing to think if there was anything ACTUALLY wrong with my teeth, what this bozo would have done to f!ck it up. i personally had no issues with the secretaries/receptionists/other staff. its really just the DENTIST i have issues with. hope this helps anyone in the area looking for just a basic cleaning/check up.

I had braces for so long that I can fall asleep while someone scrapes at my teeth but I can still tell that the dental hygienist here was gentler than most. She didn't poke at my gums or make it feel punitive because I hadn't flossed enough. Can one ever floss enough for a dentist? Unlikely. They took the inevitable x rays which new dentists always do, but I anticipated that and my insurance covers it.
I worry about my head getting that much radiation and have never had a cavity. I have a constantly dry mouth due to a prescription medication and have become concerned as a result of recently learning that meth mouth is caused by lack of salivation. I mentioned this and was provided with a sample of a product designed to make me.drool? Ok that works The ladies at the front desk were super nice and didn't roll their eyes at all when if thought I had a different insurance than I in fact do (I would have).

So its been awhile since I've seen a dentist. My previous dentist didn't listen, did not use enough anesthetic, and also hit me with a number of charges that I didn't make sense, and I couldn't afford. I came here on a personal recommendation. Getting an appt was easy enough. The office was initially hard to find from the street, but there is a directory I didn't see on my way in that I DID see on my way out (so my fault).
The office itself was nice, warm and inviting. I like this: there's a lot to fear from a dentist's office - I know of far too many horror stories, so to have a nice soothing atmosphere was great. The chairs I sat in were comfortable and were quite articulate. Bending in just the right places. The nurse (who's name I'm sure is Shirley, but I could have misheard) offered me a neck pillow!
A neck pillow! Getting x-rays were quick and easy. I'm used to getting into a room, standing in one spot as a machine goes around and around. Nope! I'm still in the chair, biting down on a plate as the machine comes to me. (let's not forget that Shirley placed an x-ray apron[?]) Dr. Peretz was quite kind and courteous. He wanted to know exactly what to do and had some mouth x rays taken.
He understood my situation, and he wanted to work out a plan. I got a genuine impression that Dr. Peretz cared. I plan on making a next appointment very soon, and I know what the cost will be ahead of time. If my last dentist was more like this, I'd have had a regular dentist far sooner.
