Rhode Island Dental - Douglas D Talus

Found through my insurance provider website as taking new patients. When I called to make an appointment, they asked me what specific type of insurance I had, then abruptly denied an appt saying they don't take my insurance - surprisingly rude. They haven't updated their status with my insurance co, and made me feel like I am not a good customer before I even set foot in their door. Not great user experience.

My family and I have attended this clinic for over 30 years, and I had exceptional care here with some of the compassionate staff that have either retired or moved on. I never once questioned their judgment or dental care, and I actually liked going to the dentist. Now that I've moved out of state and across the country, I just don't get the same genuine and exceptional care I had here.

My mom is an immigrant to this country, she is a nurse and has lived in the US for over 20 years. She loved her dentist, however she had to stop coming here because Tammy made fun of her accent, has billed her incorrectly three times, and has even hung up the phone when my mom called. My mom was experiencing discrimination and had to change care despite telling her dentist about these encounters. If you hold any marginalized identity, I encourage you to approach this clinic with caution.

Best first time to the dentist ever! My girls can't wait to go back to get thier teeth checked. Dr. Talus and his team( Syrina and Dawn) are truly amazing at making sure the kiddos are comfortable and explain the prosses of everything in a fun positive way. They all went on and beyond to make sure my twins first visit was a success.

As a long term client of Dr. Doug Talus, since November 12, 2001, I have only wonderful things to say about the services he and his technicians have provided me. In 20 years they have ranged from basic six month cleaning, yearly/bi-yearly x-rays & year full mouth x-rays. I have had fillings, temporary teeth, and a couple of crowns. I have increasingly comfortable with having dental work done and they have always walked me through the steps as they are doing the procedures, thus significantly reducing my anxiety! The office staff are efficient and friendly, and add to the general low key professional atmosphere of the overall environment.

Being a 50 year patient(along with many family members) at Rhode Island Dental has been a great blessing. Not only is fantastic dental work done there, but personal concern and interest is shown to each patient. Also, the warmth and friendliness of the entire team has made my 50 year connection very special and I am thankful for ALL at Rhode Island Dental.

I have been seeing Dr. Talus since he started here when I was a kid. My whole family comes here, even those who live out of state! I actually look forward to my dentist appointments! Everyone here is kind, considerate, friendly, professional and efficient. They don't give you any pressure or guilt. I have been going to see Dr. Talus for a very long time and he is always very informative and friendly. I have also had Dr. Hammon and he is a great dentist, too. All of the hygienists and assistants are very nice and helpful. It is pretty easy to get an appointment, and they always are good with fitting you into the schedule. I would highly, highly recommend Rhode Island Dental

I've been going to this dentist office since I was a kid and will hopefully continue going here much longer! They always greet me by name with a smile at the door and have been super COVID safe making it easy and comfortable to come in during this time. I would recommend this place to individuals and families alike! I can remember looking forward to coming here as a kid to get to pick out a toy and a fun kid toothbrush after. 5 stars!
