My husband recently went to this dentist office for standard procedures (a deep cleaning, root canal) and was charged far, far beyond what he should have been, given his insurance (which was accepted here). Several hundred dollars more each time, in fact. After these financial discrepancies, he decided to go to another dentist office to finish his root canal crown procedure.
The new office was unconfident in the work that this office left him with and fixed it for free, and quoted him a price for the crown at the exact price it should have been with his insurance coverage. After speaking to his insurance carrier about the erroneous charges from this office, they reported that he was being charged over $300 for a "dental rinse" that he never asked for!
Truly maddening. He has filed a complaint through his insurance carrier to try to recoup the money that he was unfairly charged. Avoid this office at all costs if you want to make sure you're not getting severely overcharged, or getting left with shoddy dental work.

I had an appointment at 2pm for filling and a 3pm appointment for root canel. They were both confirmed. When i arrived at 2pm they let me sit there for 45 min. I finally went to the desk and asked what is the problem. They said your appountment is at 3pm. I said no my appointment was for 2:00pm. They told me they did not have a dentist for the 2pm.
I was not called or advised. I lost 1 + hrs of work. This is not good customer service. I told them to cancel the other appointment and walked out. What is happening with common sense and customer service theses days.

I can't even begin to explain how unprofessional this establishment is. Lack of communication amongst each other is their biggest downfall. If you have a patient's records USE THEM, UPDATE THEM, NOTE THEM, REFER TO THEM! I had to explain things to multiple different people so many different times. Nobody was on the same page and no one knew what I was showing up for or where we left off when I came in for scheduled appointments. Extremely overpriced for the horrible service. Go to Southland Dental! They will definitely take care of you!

Unfriendly to VA Referred Patient/Retiree! Needless to say it took almost 4 months trying to get seen from this place. My 1st appointment was canceled due to Dentist being sick. In a week span, I called their appointment line 4x, disconnected 2x when put on hold by the operator, and requested for Supervisor to call back due to next availability given was in May. Supervisor called back a few days later.
I told her about my difficulties of trying to reschedule which she didn't seem to care. Finally, I got scheduled today. I checked in 10-15 min prior to my appointment and signed in. Female clerk (Leo) quickly said out loud "You Don't Have Insurance!" I responded that I was referred by VA new patient and my 1st time being seen. Another female clerk confirmed that they did get the document I filled out and paperwork from VA.
I was told to stay seated. Five minutes later, young man walks in, staff were very friendly to him and started talking about whatever. Oh, one staff is supposedly a Leo and the other is trying to save $ so she can buy a house. Therefore, she's on a sandwich budget lunch. Whatever! Then, young man was called for his appointment. 20+ minutes later, I'm still sitting there.
I asked the clerk, sandwich budget female, on what's the status of my appointment. She just responded, they're setting up the X-ray. She didn't say anything after that. She then went in the back and heard females just having a good time laughing. So, I left. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE To ANY OF My FELLOW VETERANS! This place is too PROUD! Customer service is AWEFUL! Their DISREGARD to people's time and effort is a DISGRACE! Ya'll Need to EAT A HUMBLE PIE AND LEARN GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE!

The Front Office staff were very kind and helpful willing to go over prices and contact my primary dentist to make sure everything I needed was covered. My Dentist was very efficient and quick. He did a great job of administering the shots. I am usually quite nervous going in for any procedure and he was sensitive to that. He also explained things to me and answered my questions. Overall, I was very satisfied and appreciated the service I received and will go back if another procedure is needed in the future .

I have had a opportunity to visit Ponderosa Dental twice in the past 7 months. I will not be going back. The Dental assistant staff does not have the proper training to work in a dental office. I was seen by 2 different dentists and received two completely different recommendations for treatment There are so many Dental offices in this area this one is definitely one to avoid!

I had been contacting this dental office for over a month but no one ever got back to me. I used the contact form on their website and called at least two times, but never got any response. I understand COVID could cause businesses to be short staffed, but over a month without anyone contacting me is ridiculous. I already called Anthem to remove this dental office as my assigned clinic.

I recently had my wisdom teeth removed from this location upon first visit I arrived 10 minutes early just to sit in the waiting room For almost an hour and 30 minutes. They told me that I need a mouthguard for grinding my teeth in my sleep when my significant other has a night shift and comes home to me asleep every night not GRINDING my teeth in my sleep the pain was coming from me wisdom teeth.
I declined the clean for the day due to being off Schedule. When paying They didn't give me much information on how much it would cost to get my teeth polled or any of the matter they also stated that they didn't know if my insurance was good there even though I called insurance prior to making my appointment they didn't give me much information on how much it would cost to get my teeth polled or any of the matter they also stated that they didn't know if my insurance was good there even though I called insurance prior to making my appointment.
They politely asked to see if they still except it I will give me a call back when they find out we'll never received a call back I had to call them back five days later and schedule my wisdom teeth appointment. For my wisdom teeth appointment I arrived 25 minutes early to be held up for 50 minutes! Again being late. I was called back and was talk to you about the price and the pricing was ridiculously high but I still went with the operation.
During the last 15 to 20 minutes of my operation I woke up and Could see them stitching my mouth up! And was not put back to sleep nor did they Comfort me to stay still he demanded me to stay still and said that I was making everything very difficult and that I'm hurt myself. Once done I sat there for about 5 to 10 minutes and they wanted to transfer me to the next room I got up by myself feeling drugged out and walked myself to the next room the nurser/ doctors just stood around and acted liked shadows thankfully I didn't fall over.
When placed in the next room they told me They were going to get a wheelchair but didn't provide me anything to deal with all the blood and saliva in my mouth almost choking on the amount I had so I took it within myself to use the suction device they have next to the chair. This ways my first experience with them and will be my last.

I haven't to the dentist in 3 years. Thinking about going to the dentist gives me anxiety but I've been putting it off long enough. Everyone there was polite, friendly and seemed to know what they're doing. It put my mind at ease so much, when they took my blood pressure, they thought I took medications to lower it. Nope! It's because of their positive attitudes.
I was able to get through the appointment with flying colors and now, I'm actually looking forward to my next appointment. Shout out to Kathy, Bianca, Carlos and Dr. O! Thank you for all you did today!

I've been coming to Ponderosa Dental for about 3 years. The service is a 10 plus! My teeth are straight and they keep them clean. But that's not why I travel from Los Angeles to there location in Rancho. It's there customer service. You're apart of a family when you join with them. I can name several ladies that work there and the owner but I don't want to leave anyone out so thank you all that work here. I highly recommend this office! I LOVE Ponderosa Dental. I went to 4 other dentists before going to P.D. Having someone in your mouth is a very personal thing. You need to be comfortable with the person doing the procedures. From the front desk to the financial consultant to the hygienists & Dr. O, Ponderosa doesn't make me feel ashamed at all & are helping me be able to smile again.
