The execution is flawless and noticeable. The directions to get to the office is clear and marked as you approach the building. Text messages, emails and notices about your appointment are frequent and you won't miss it. The staff is very professional, conscientious and they pay attention to the small details. Everyone knows what good customer service feels like but we live in an era where businesses talk about great customer service but customers don't feel like they're getting great customer service. It's refreshing to find a dentist office that delivers. K Street Dental & Orthodontic Group stands out from the rest. If you need a dentist, I'd highly recommend this place.

Absolutely loved my visit! I signed up online the night before as a new patient, for a 7:00am slot the next morning for some tooth pain and I was freaked that I might have a cavity. Everything went smoothly and quickly (they had to fill in some sealant holes, no cavities phew!) and they even were able to squeeze in my cleaning while I was there because someone else had cancelled. Super professional and kind, very clean, and very efficient. Already set up my next cleaning and will be going back in six months!

The office is welcoming and well-located, clean etc. I had a cleaning and couple fillings and the process was quick and painless. Appreciated the dentist keeping me informed as it went, just my preference. In my experience, their treatment plans are reasonable, not too aggressive when I've compared to a second opinion. All in all, I'll keep coming.

This dentist office is an absolutely true gem in Washington DC. I was totally impressed with the pleasant staff, and doctors at K St. Dental & Orthodontic. I got some x-rays, and a temporary crown put in on my visit. The air quality was superb and the office was tidied up and cleaned. You will not go wrong with this dental office. I'm a retired combat veteran, and I was very nervous with my first dental visit. I was at ease during the beginning to the end of my office visit. I left impressed, and I would highly recommend this dental office everyone that's young and old.

As I'm looking for a new dentist in DC, I'm reminded of how bad my experience was here in June/July-ish of 2019 and wanted to warn people off. When I arrived, everyone there was in a staff meeting apparently scheduled back to back with my appointment--this would not be memorable if it hadn't run long and caused my cleaning to start egregiously late.
I was irritated, but thought it was just a minor issue. I eventually saw the hygienist, who began a cleaning and took x rays. She was rushed and perfunctory because they had been behind schedule and she definitely poked me a few times. Again, I thought this wasn't a terrible experience and I needed the cleaning, so I wasn't picky, but I decided I probably wouldn't come back. However, like many other people, I was almost immediately told that I had serious gum problems and would need surgery that would cost me (at minimum) $600.
I had no dental insurance and had chosen K Street because I thought I could get a reasonably priced cleaning based on an ad mailer I'd received. That wasn't the case, as the hygienist told me that it would be pointless to continue my cleaning before I had the gum surgery and wanted me to schedule it right away, before I left the office. I politely refused to schedule the surgery, explaining that part of the reason was that I didn't have the money, at which point I was encouraged to do it and get on a payment plan (which, if I recall, would have required me to pay interest?).
I declined because I wanted a second opinion and did not trust this practice to do a good job with a surgical procedure after the weird and careless experience I had just had. Unfortunately I still had to pay full price for a cleaning, even though I didn't actually GET a cleaning. I think I spent as much (if not more) time waiting as I did actually in the appointment.
I was pretty frustrated--I'd spent money on a bad experience and didn't even get the bare minimum service I needed. Sure enough, I got my second opinion at the end of the summer and was given a clean bill of gum health by my trusted hometown dentist while on a quick visit and have not had any tooth/gum problems in the years since. I'm not usually a review person but this was a bad and expensive experience.
Some people seem to have had good experiences here and staff might have turned over since my visit, but this was incredibly discouraging. If you get quoted for an expensive procedure here, I'd recommend a second opinion. I'm glad I got one as it saved me money and recovery time on what would have been a painful procedure. Go in with your eyes open.

I have been going to this dental office for over 10 years. I have never had any issues. They handle my regular dental work, and when I had braces it was all done in the same place. Over the last year they have made a lot of changes to the office as far a the aesthetic. They also use a lot of new technology as far as checking in and I can book appointments online. The Dentist, Hygienist, and Orthodontist are all wonderful.

I went to K Street Dental a few weeks ago with a broken tooth (from eating hazelnuts!) to see Dr. Majlessi, thinking that I would need a root canal and a crown. I knew Dr. Majlessi from another office and since I trust her work I wanted her expert opinion. Dr. Majlessi was very kind and professional (as always) and after taking a few X-rays and thorough diagnosis she explained to me that my tooth didn't need a root canal procedure and she could restore my tooth without that.
I was really happy to hear that, and haven't had any issues with my tooth since then. The office was also very clean and modernized and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. It is also conveniently located near the Foggy Bottom metro station. I highly recommend Dr. Majlessi and K Street Dental.

I had to get an extraction with Dr. Maur pretty quickly and the front desk ladies were fabulous. They helped me schedule a time that worked. The office is full of completely new staff than those terrible reviews from a year ago. Leslie, the newer office manager, is amazingly kind and helpful. During my surgery, they had music playing during my extraction and it was helpful to have the distraction! I recommend coming here and seeing the new and improved staff!

I, too, have been scammed by this practice. I have not had a cavity in 22 years, but when going to this dentist, I suddenly had 3. I went ahead and filled them and as I was checking out the day of the procedure, I was told that I had 2 more that needed to be filled. They presented an entire plan of all the "work" I needed done in my mouth which completely maxed out my insurance for the year and would be hundreds out of pocket.
I had no pain, no issues in my mouth and was initially open to the idea that I finally had a cavity. I was naive. I took my business elsewhere and saw two other dentists who confirmed the work was completely unnecessary and that I had no cavities based on my x-rays. When going to the other dentist, he had to redo one of the fillings as well because it was throwing off my bite and preventing me from being able to floss between my two teeth. They do shotty work and scam you at any chance they get. Do not go here if you can avoid it!

I'm always happy with the service and care that I receive when I have my 2x a year appointments. K Street Dental also took excellent care of me immediately after a bicycle accident last year where I chipped several teeth and needed root canals because of the trauma to the roots/nerves. I'd recommend them to all.

Everyone at K St Dental is amazing- so friendly, knowledgeable, and invested in healthy and happy patients. They really go above and beyond to make sure their patients are taken care of. They even have weekend appointments. I love everyone here, but Dr. C is my favorite- it is obvious when he communicates during procedures that he is both incredibly experienced and empathic, and also that he has great respect for the staff who assist him.
He always remembers me and is so kind- I look forward to seeing him whenever I come in! K St Dental has taken excellent care of me and I am so grateful that I found this amazing practice!

First off, I hate going to the dentist office but as we all know, if we want to keep your teeth there is no avoiding them All the staff is super knowledgeable and highly trained. (I make it a habit to find out credentials for everyone who will be working on any part of my body). The hygienist was gentle, graduated top of her class and made me feel comfortable.
She also finished quickly but did a better job then all of the hygienist I have had the displeasure to work with who took longer to clean my teeth. I also enjoyed having the time to discuss oral health and her recommendations I enjoy efficiency so the examination was quick precise and gave me thought points to think about before proceeding. We all hate going to the dentist but this place made it less aggravating because the experience was thorough, effective and over quickly. Looking forward to my next visit.

DO NOT GO THERE. I try to keep my reviews positive but this time, I cannot let this slide. And if I could give them minus five stars, I would. I swear to God the only good and sincere person in this whole practice is the receptionist, but even as I talked to her and asked her questions, it felt like she was obligated to hide something, like someone was making her.
I can only speak out of experience but this business should be investigated and shut down. I have seen all-about-the-money and I have seen careless and even crooked, but I never thought someone could stoop this low, reach this point of fraud and still be open for business. The only reason I ended up going there anyway was because I looked up a dentist on the internet, and by some false advertisement, I got this clinic's number -which wouldn't surprise me because otherwise no one would go there- Yes, up until the moment I walked into my appointment, I didn't know I was where I was.
A bunch of people saw me consecutively. I don't know if this is supposed to make them look smarter or fancier, but I had to reexplain everything to every one of them, which wasted my time and theirs. Yes, I was this scared for my teeth that I had to be in control of everything just to walk out of there in one piece. The hygienist should seriously find a different career path.
She was so rough on me that my gums were hurting and I had to tell her wherever I had a filling so that she would be gentler for it not to come off. She decided that since my gums were hurting, (i.e. She was hurting me because she's incompetent) I had gingivitis, something I have never had. Ever. They sold me medicine for that and I feel so stupid for falling into that trap.
You would think that after this torture my teeth would come out cleaner than ever, but no. It was a crappy job and I can tell because I have had cleanings for almost all of my adult life. She went on to tell me that this is as much cleaning as my insurance will cover and that she would have me come back for "deep cleaning" and irrigation and whatnot, for more pain and of course money because all the tartar under my gums would destroy my teeth in the future.
I took my X-rays from them and showed them to 3 different dentists, all of whom said that my gums were healthy, no tartar, no gingivitis, nothing. So folks, this is what they do, they half-clean your teeth and tell you that you need extra out-of-pocket cleaning. The actual doctor must have seen me for a total 2 minutes, during which he did not even have an answer for half of my questions, but still managed to decide on the spot that I had 11 cavities and needed two crowns at least.
I have always taken good care of my teeth and I was depressed for a whole second there because this just didn't make sense to me. The other dentists I showed my X-rays to after found one cavity only. So these "businessmen" because they are definitely not doctors, wanted to drill into perfectly healthy teeth and cause me real problems in the future, so that they make a few extra bucks.
Either that or they're just bad doctors because one of the dentists I showed my X-rays to after I left told me that some of the minuscule black spots that they tried to pass on as cavities are actually fluctuations from the imaging, and that the images were foggy. More incompetence. There is zero communication in this office. If I were to go into a coma, they would have to meet to discuss what was going wrong and I'll probably die before they figure it out.
The women that came after my express-two-minute dentist basically shut him up. One of them, Mavi, went on to tell me that I shouldn't ask him anything about my treatment because he doesn't know anything; that she's a know-it-all. Like kids in the playground. And my friends, she basically contradicted everything he said. She was annoying and would speak over me, I had to decipher what she was saying because it was so obvious that she wasn't knowledgeable but had memorized a few lines to sound smart and have a spot at the clinic.
And because it was not enough pain and not enough drama and not enough money, they eventually drafted me a program that maxes out my insurance for this year, and then takes a huge chunk out of this for the next one; the perfect black-book business deal. I think of myself as a nice person who doesn't wish anyone harm, but one day I will walk past this practice and it will not be there, and I will know that justice was served and people are no longer being robbed of their hard-earned money.

My kids and I were patients at K St for a couple of years until May 2016. I have never been entirely comfortable with them but needed the convenience of a practice who would see all of us and take my insurance. However, my last two visits put me over the edge and I have made the switch. My kids: This past spring visit, I was told one of my boys had FOUR cavities in adult teeth.
New pediatric dentist found none, ZERO, 0! and was incredulous that they had never applied sealant on adult teeth. I was also told my SEVEN year old needed braces IMMEDIATELY (there was definitely a hard cell to make the next appt to start this process) and that this would be the first of two times he would have them. A follow with a pediatric orthodontist revealed the need for a retainer within the year and braces down the road. Me: In October, The hygienist refused to do my cleaning and told me I needed scaling which would cost $1600 out of pocket and that $800 of that is an (very special, apparently) antibiotic.
My new dentist says my teeth and gums are fine. Lastly, in my attempt to have my records transfer, the usually friendly staff suddenly turned curt and unhelpful. While they responded to my requests promptly, I had to go back and forth a couple of times to get the records I needed.

I had an amazing experience in this practice. After my terrible experience with groupon deal, I just decided that I need to see professionals. I made an appointment with dr. Simchian and was able to get it for the same week, when I made my call. I told doctor Simchian about my concerns and past experience. First of all I got a full mouth ex ray done and medical assistant did everything to make that experience with less discomfort as possible.
Then dr. Simchian did all the check up and went over with my exray pictures and explain me in details what's going on and what needs to be done. Dr. Simchian was very attentive and answer to all my questions and give detailed explanations about my concerns. I would highly recommend this practice and dr. Simchian. They are very professional and nice!

I've been using K Street Dental's services for just over two years now. While I had braces, I met with Dr. Shouhayib and his dental assistants every three or four weeks for adjustments in the DC office. My experience with everyone in the office was amazing and I would highly recommend their services to anyone looking for dental care. During my first visit, Dr. Shouhayib took the time to review all the options available to me.
I had been to other orthodontists who tried to up-sell me more expensive products, but that wasn't the case here. We decided good ol' fashion metal braces were right for me since I needed to have teeth extracted. Every subsequent visit followed suit in terms of meeting high expectations. The whole team was a joy to work with and made the tedious process of having braces much more tolerable.
During every step of the process, they were professional, welcoming, and attentive. Although I would not want to repeat the process of having braces, I would certainly return to K St Dental if the need were to arise again.

I can not expect every visit to K Street Dental to go as well as my first (everything fell in my favor), but if the experience is indicative of future care then I am confident that I will enjoy my treatment here. In need of extensive orthodontic work, I have been bouncing around consultations at different offices. None were bad. However, none pleasantly overwhelmed which I sort of expected given the financial investment I am about to place in their care.
I found just what I was looking for at K Street Dental. I arrived early and my appointment began early. Dr. Shouhayib explained clearly to me all of my options. He seemed genuinely invested in caring for me and demonstrated willingness to work with me on cost. Despite being the end of the day, I was able to fit in a cleaning with the hygienist and a full exam with Dr. Stoman.
Everything was great. The hygienist completed a thorough cleaning yet didn't once cause any discomfort. I was in the office until after 6 p.m. As was the entire staff. Everyone seemed willing to hang around until the work was complete, and no corners were cut in order to call it a day. Again, it's only been one experience, so I will have to revisit this review in the future after proceeding in my Invisalign treatment. But, for now, I am certainly a fan of K Street Dental.

I really really wanted this place to be my new dentist's office. Mind you, it's super convenient, and takes my insurance--a winning combination! Unfortunately, I found myself unhappy that I ever went there. The receptionist is lovely, kind and explains everything without making you feel stupid. a rare talent indeed. When I got called back to the dentists chair, I noticed that the windows were extremely dirty. Now, usually that wouldn't bother me, DC is a city and most people can't afford window washers, whatever.
But as the nurse handed me glasses to cover my eyes from what might be flowing out off my mouth (ew) I noticed that the glasses too were dirty. I asked if they were clean, when the dentist came into the room, and she said they should be but gave me a towelette to clean them. I appreciated that (thus the two stars), but noticed that they didn't use new picks and such for each person, instead using the multi-use ones that are supposed to be cleaned, but without having the glasses cleaned, I got out of there and rinsed my mouth a thousand times.
The dentist picked at my teeth and more or less did a good job, but didn't say much or explain anything and was merciless with the picking. Oh well. No pain no gain--at least I didn't have any cavities!

The dentist picked at my teeth and more or less did a good job, but didn't say much or explain anything and was merciless with the picking. Oh well. No pain no gain--at least I didn't have any cavities!
