Founded in 2007, Kids First Pediatric Dentistry has grown to become a trusted leader in pediatric dentistry throughout Arizona's East Valley. Founding dentists Dr. Tyler Carter and Dr. Randy Weinshel are board certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and both have been awarded Top Pediatric Dentist by Phoenix Magazine.
Our Kids First Pediatric Dentistry office attempts to schedule appointments at your convenience and when time is available. Preschool children should be seen in the morning because they are fresher and we can work more slowly with the child for their comfort. School-aged children for routine visits can be scheduled throughout the day.
A pediatric dentist has an extra two years of specialized training after dental school and is dedicated to the oral health of children from infancy through the teenage years. The very young, pre-teens, and teenagers all need different approaches in dealing with behavior, guiding their growth and development, and helping them avoid future dental problems.
Dr Tyler is the best of the best! It's so hard to find the right dentist/doctor for your kids and family. But when you find someone like him, you keep him! He does an excellent job at the actual cavity fillings, etc.while at the same time being so friendly and fun for the kids. He deals with my hyper/inquisitive 9 year old with ease.

We just went for my 3 year-old's first dental appointment and the staff was amazing! They were so good with kids, and very patient when my girl was nervous and not sure about cooperating. I went in fully expecting Dr. Tyler to get one look in her mouth and for her to be done, but he and his staff were able to get X-rays, brush her teeth and do a fluoride treatment.
And the important thing is that it was a positive experience in my daughter's eyes. She has been telling everyone that she went to the "tooth doctor" and that they liked her teeth and gave her a toy turtle. We haven't had any work done here yet, but as far as a general preventative cleaning and exam goes, I would recommend them.

We love going to this dentist, I've been taking my son here since he was 9 months old and he's 4 now. They are so kind from entering the building to leaving. I really love that they don't force your kids to get x-rays of their teeth if they don't want to, they are so soft when cleaning his teeth, they talk him through each and every step so he's not scared. And at the very end they give them a token to get a prize out of the machines.my son's favorite part! Dr. Tyler is very friendly!

We had a wonderful experience at Kids First Pediatric Dentistry. My young daughter has a great deal of anxiety and all the staff were so caring. They did a wonderful job distracting her and explaining throughout the visit so that she could get her teeth cleaned! By the time we got to the car she said she'd gladly return :

I would HIGHLY recommend Kids First Dentistry! From the moment we stepped in the door we were treated like family, even on our first visit. Dr. Tyler and the whole team made us feel welcome, valued, and cared for. I was nervous about how my 2 year old and 4 year old would handle it, but the staff was so patient and gracious with both of my kids. Numerous staff members engaged with my children by name and made them feel special.
When my son was nervous to have his x-ray done, they took extra time to explain every step of the process with him and then redirected him until he was comfortable. My daughter even asked to go back because she enjoyed it so much! The office was very clean, the staff was friendly and professional, and completing patient paperwork and scheduling appointments was a breeze. They were so easy to work with and really on top of their game from A to Z.

Took my 2 1/2 year old to kids first for her first check up, they are AMAZING in every aspect. Friendly and helpful at the front desk. Very clean and modern office. Makes it warm and inviting. The Dental hygienists and Dr Tyler Carter were a big hit with my daughter! They made everything easy and seamless. Thank you to all the staff for all you do! I will definitely be bringing her back
