Periodontal treatment is necessary when various conditions affect the health of your gums and the regions of your jawbone which hold your teeth in place. Retaining your teeth is directly dependent on proper periodontal care and maintenance. Dental implants are changing the way people live.

Dr. Simon performed gum graft surgery for me in February. The whole experience from the first consultation, to the actual surgery, and post-op checkups has been absolutely great. Not only the doctor is highly knowledgeable and experienced, but he and his staff also provide excellent customer service. As an additional bonus, dr. Simon has a wonderful sense of humor. And importantly, I am very happy with the result of the surgery. Thank you, dr. Simon!

I highly recommend Dr Simon. I have seen dentists and periodontists for more than 30 years, both in San Francisco and Marin, and he is by far the best. I know I can trust him to be sensitive to my fear of pain. In the several years since I began with him I have experienced less discomfort (not to mention pain) than I thought possible. He is an excellent doctor who is quite knowledgeable and helps me make the best decisions for my treatment plans. Dr Simon does excellent work and explains what needs to be done, why and how. He is also a very warm human being with a great sense of humor. The staff is also very pleasant and professional. I have no complaints, only raves.

On my first and second visits to Dr. Simon's office, I found both Hali (front office) and Dr. Simon to be friendly and professional, and I basically felt treated in the positive manner that made me feel happy to be there. On my third visit, Dr. Simon's assistant (one I had not seen before) was not able to successfully give me an injection. even after 3 tries.
I am 64 years old and I have never had anyone ever have any problem giving me an injection. After her 3 failed attempts I asked to speak with Dr. Simon and I explained that I was not comfortable letting this assistant continue to try to give me an injection. Dr. Simon got visibly upset with me. And then he tried to coerce me into giving her another chance because, "she was there to do this".
I asked him how he could want me to let somebody work on me after this. He got red and angry and left the room. Why would I let a person with sub-par skills (at least on that day and time) work in my mouth? Maybe this assistant was just having a bad day, or maybe she had something troubling on her mind. but that is no reason for Dr. Simon to push me to let her continue.
And for him to get upset with me for not allowing her to do so is the exact opposite response that I expected from him. I was not going back there. Then, several days later, in the process of asking to have my X-rays and records transferred, Hali in the front office got upset. with me. She is Dr. Simon's wife. Given that I was never anything but polite and courteous in my communications, I can only imagine that she was influenced by her husband's attitude. You have been warned!

Dr. Simon has been taking care of our family's periodontic needs for the last 7 years. He is fantastic at what he does and has a great funny demeanor. Yesterday he saved my daughter's smile. We were at the ice rink early on a Saturday morning for a outdoor hockey strategy session. She was hit with a stick knocking one of her front teeth out and cracking one in half.
It was a nightmare scenario for a 13 yr old budding actress. I called Dr. Simon at 8am for help. Within 5 mins, he had developed a plan and contacted our orthodontis. We were at Dr. Kirks office 20 mins later working to restore her smile. Dr Simon and Dr Kirk were calming and caring through the whole incident. They did a wonderful job. It's rare to find someone who is so dedicated to his craft and his patient's well being!

I had a tricky extraction and then implant in a tight corner of my mouth. Dr. Simon was 1) conservative. He offered options that involved less dental work. 2) skilled. I have trouble believing it, but I had no pain, even afterward. 3) careful. He paused and double-checked things, took his time, and made sure the procedure was completely successful. 4) clear.
He explained in detail what was up and how things might turn out. 5) nice. When you are spending that many hours in an uncomfortable position, it's great to have a good guy to help you relax and pass the time. His staff is great, too (at least, the ones I met myself).

I have a particularly tough mouth to work on, due to having diffuse systemic scleroderma--but Dr. Simon was wonderful! He has done quite a bit of periodontical work on me, and it has all been perfection! The ladies who work in his front office are wonderful (kind, compassionate, helpful) as are Dr. Simon's assistants. His "bedside manner" is very personable and he listens to you (actually looks you in the eye). Dr. Simon will let you know exactly what he is about to do right before he does it, and makes me feel about as comfortable as a person can be in a dental chair.
I have no complaints about my experiences with Dr. Simon and his office.only raves! No, I do not look forward to going to any dentist, but when I need to, it's Dr. Simon for me.
