As someone who had really bad dental anxiety, JDC has been there every step of the way. I used to shriek when Dr. Chris came at me with a drill, but now it's not so bad, and he has helped me through all of my dental issues. And as a poor college kid, I appreciate their flexibility. I hope to keep coming to them for a while

I don't know if Dr Joy is any good. But her assistant Diane is terrible and RUDE. I called to get her to come out and see my 78 year old mother with dementia. We arranged for her to come to my parents house today and Dr. Joy never showed up. I don't know how you stay in business! I live nearby and will come for a refund on the $150 deposit my sister gave. I wish I could give it a zero. Dr. Joy, do yourself a favor and fire Diane

My grandmother is 101 years old and is bed ridden. I needed to find a dentist which makes home visits in order to remove her tooth. I came across Doctor Joy's information and gave her a call. We were able to set up an appointment with a very short notice. I can not express or find enough words to say what an amazing experience we had with her. She was on time, took her time to explain the full process, but most importantly treated my grandma delicately and with patience.

A week later, after the tooth removal my grandma began eating more and looked much stronger all thanks to Doctor Joy. She is very compassionate, professional, and I would recommend her to everyone without hesitation.

The new office location is really convenient for me and is bright and cheery. As a new patient I liked Doctor Joy alot, very nice and competent. I have serious questions as to billing practices, however. Word to the wise, get a predetermination for all expensive dental work. I had a cleaning, then came back for five cavities, two root canals and eventually two buildups and crowns.

Of course all this work totaled thousands of dollars, thank God for insurance. The problem is, however, that Diane at the front desk will charge you consistently more then the patient amount shown on the insurance EOB. That is partly because she is estimating, she has to wait for the EOB. However, I apparently have access to the EOB ahead of her because of my online insurance portal My patient amount for four visits was $623, she charged me, $1400.

So I'm owed $800 so far, and more to follow I'm sure when the crowns are put on. Do not go here, a friendly dentist is one thing, being ripped off is something completely different.

The staff and Dr Joy are always amazing! They are gentle and informative. I actually don't mind coming to the dentist anymore! They are great!

Hands down most incredible care, most positive outlook, and most JOYFUL dental experience I've ever had. These people go the extra mile for their patients. I went to see the Dentist after being so scared and when I got to the office from the receptionist all the way dental assistant and Mrs. joy she made me feel so comfortable and so welcomed and I wasn't embarrassed about anything I recommend anybody that needs any dental work and is scared of the dentist to go see her she is amazing caring gentle and makes you feel very good about yourself she is the best and her staff! I have had the same dentist my whole life so when I had to find a new one, this made me extremely nervous. Dr. Joy had the best reviews for my area and I get why. When I went in for my initial appointment, I was under the impression that I would be getting x-rays and a cleaning. However, I still had some inflammation of my gums from a recent infection and Dr.

Joy was honest and said It wouldn't be fair for me to do a cleaning now because your gums are still so swollen and it would be way more painful. Thank you for your honesty. It made me feel like she wasn't in it just for the money (as I had that experience with a dentist previously) The assistants were very helpful and funny and explained what they were doing step by step when they were taking my x-rays (which I appreciate and need) I recently went in for a deep cleaning and Dr.

Joy did such a fantastic job, that I cant wait to go get my other side done! I appreciate how efficient and real she is (direct, tough love but we will fix it attitude) She also uses great analogies to explain how to keep your teeth and gums clean- My favorite being something along the lines of keeping your mouth clean and hurricane Katrina. it made sense to me.

I originally scheduled the appointment through open care (if you are going to do this please call the office ahead of time to confirm and see if they need anything form you) I think I finally found my long term dentist! yay!

Dr Joy fitted me in and redid my filling with no charge when I experienced pain after a recent filling. She is always very good at educating me on good tooth care and the science behind it. And has a friendly and down to earth attitude and a good sense of humor. Dr Wanda is really nice too- very gentle and laid back. The two dental techs I met were friendly and good conversationalists. Totally recommend and definitely excited to see the fancy new space when they move.

I'm an elder law attorney and I recently used Joy's services to purchase dentures for an elderly client in a nursing home. Joy got right on it, was affordable and the family was very happy with her services. I highly recommend her for any clients, no matter what the age!

I have known Dr. Joy for over 25 years. When we met, the second thing she said was "I am going to be a dentist" (first was her name). She has never waivered once from her passion of providing quality dental care for all. She is professional yet personable, never ceases learning about new dental advances but stresses the tried-and-true methods that work.

She has been my daughter's dentist since she started going (17 years). She accommodates emergency patients frequently, and now travels to senior patients' homes and facilities to ensure they are able to receive quality dental care no matter where they are. She is only a phone call away, and is happy to answer any question. Her referral network for specialty work is second to none. I have happily and confidently referred many patients to her.

Dr. Joy has been a wonderful dentist for my family. She has consistently provided first class service and advice. Her love of dentistry is always on display as she discusses the latest and greatest in the field; she clearly loves the profession and is always plugged in to the evolution of her field which is comforting. Great family practice, highly recommended.

Dr. Joy was the best after years of not going to the dentist because of fear. She made me feel relaxed through the whole procedure and did not feel judged at all because of dental issues which was one of my concerns when looking for a dentist. Staff was polite and very nice my daughter even was excited after she got a goodie bag with dental care. She most definitely be my dentist from now on.

I have found my new dental home. Dr. Joy has all the latest gadgets to assess my dental health and was a pleasure. I just had my first experience at Dr. Joy's office and it was wonderful! Dr. Joy was friendly, helpful, funny, thorough and great listener. I did not feel rushed at all - Dr. Joy spent a lot of time with me listening/asking questions and immediately typing everything we discussed and all her recommendations into an email to me so that I won't have the chance to forget anything. (That's another great thing - Dr.

Joy is available by email!). I feel that Dr. Joy is committed to helping me get to the bottom of my dental pain and I very much appreciate her thoroughness, skills, and expertise. (Also want to give a shoutout to Diane at the front desk who was very welcoming and helpful as well).

Joyful Dental Care lives up to its name. The super friendly and caring staff makes you feel more at ease when going to the dentist. Doctor Joy took me in with a dental emergency and saved my life when other doctor's wanted to send me to some expensive oral surgery. She successful extracted my infected wisdom tooth that was the source of the most excruciating pain. I am forever grateful. Highly recommended and the most affordable dentist in the area.

Found Dr. Joy Poskozim on the internet. Needed priority dental care for my HOME-BOUND 98 year mother. Contacted Dr. Joy at her office. She would be able to make a house call the next morning at 8:00 a.m. Dr. Joy was extremely prompt and arrived at 8:00 a.m. She is VERY friendly, knowledgeable, not to say a great dentist. VERY reasonable house call fee!

If you are on the far nw side of Chicago around the Lincolnwood, Skokie, Chicago, boarder and need a dentist that will make house calls for a home-bound patient, I HIGHLY recommend.

Dr. Joy is a very knowledgeable dentist; she not only knows what to do, but also why it's done. She is very good about getting the patient seated in the chair as soon as they get to the office. You can tell she cares about her patients' overall well being because she is always willing to go the extra mile to get what you need. Renata, the receptionist, is always cheerful and also very good at what she does. Overall, this is a great dental office to go to!

I have been going to see Dr. Joy for about 5 years, now, and and somewhat ashamed that I never reviewed here before this. She is the perfect dentist, very knowlegable and current, technically, empathetic to her patients and to top it all off, funny. She has handled my regular dental needs and 2 different "emergency" situations. Always handled professionally and with a smile, as well as good advice and full information about my various choices. I highly recommend her, and have to many of my friends.

I've been a patient of Dr. Joy's for about 7 years and the care is always top-notch. It's a small office and Dr. Joy does almost everything herself, the way it should be. The personal touch is there. I've been going to Dr. Joy Poskozim for 7 years now and have had so many great visits. I really like that she leans towards integrative practices and is a big supporter of the community around her business. She's very up front with me, and I feel like my dental health has certainly gotten better since I've gone to Joyful Dental. I've had every dentist since I was 5 tell me to floss, but only Dr. Joy has actually made me want to do it for myself.

I've been coming here since 2007. Dr. Joy is really wonderful, she makes sure you are comfortable and explains to you any questions you might have. I had serious tooth pains at one point and called her, she had me in first thing in the morning to help me. Even as I have been job searching she sends me job posting and meet up groups that might help me network. Needless to say it goes beyond her job description.

I have recommended her to many of my friends and family. It means a lot that she knows me, asks about my life, and is always there to help my teeth. She does a great cleaning as well! You also get to watch a salt water fish tank while you are in the chair, and she plays great music! Her advice has helped me and I have not had a cavity in years!

I have been going to Dr. Joy for several years now. She is an excellent dentist and she treats her patients very well. It is never fun to go to the dentist but Dr. Joy makes it the best possible trip to the dentist you can expect. She is very efficient and does everything she can to make the visit painless. I have been there at least 6 times and every visit was welcoming. They made me feel very comfortable, Dr. Joy lives up to her name and then some. She is awesome! Love her! Takes her practice very serious also has a great sense of humor. What more can you ask for?

Dr. Joy is awesome! As a child I was always at the dentist getting cavities filled, so I hate going to the dentist. Who doesn't? Joy makes you very comfortable. I went in for a cleaning and x-rays. She gave me a very thorough cleaning & her assistant was very nice as well. Plus I love the aquarium.that little puffer fish was so cute. I'll be back.

I wanted to like this place and I had hoped I had found my new dentist, however i couldn't help but feel dirty when i was in this place. It is the mom and pops of the dentist industry. I came in one day because my gums hurt and all she did was clean them with CVS brand hydrogen peroxide. I am not even sure if the receptioinist/biller knows what their doing. I have been billed wrong numerous of times. There are plenty of better dentists out there.

I usually dread going to the dentist but my visit with Dr. Joy was great. She was very thorough in her exam and cleaning. Ever since I moved to the city, I've tried a couple of different dentists but I think my search ends here. Both she and her staff were very friendly from the moment I walked in. I felt like they really cared about me as a person and not just a paycheck.

Another great thing, this dental office is very up-to-date, Did you know that you can fill out the paperwork online before you come in? How cool is that! Bottom line: If you're looking for a dentist, Dr. Joy is your gal!
