I am amazed by how much Heartland offers the community! I love that we have one place to go for the whole family to get primary care and dentistry. Now that they have a pharmacy, that's one less place I have to stop after my appointment. Even though I now have insurance, I still think it's awesome how Heartland gives people without insurance a place to go for health care that doesn't feel like a "free clinic". So cool seeing their food pantry and how it seems like a cute little grocery store.

I have sat in the chair after a cleaning for 45 minutes waiting for a dentist to come check my teeth. They closed for a snow storm and did not call early appt patients to make aware. Even after confirming the day before. They said they would reach out for reschedule. Never did. I had a dentist appt the day of a giant snow storm. There was a weather advisory but the staff double confirmed the day before.
I did not answer but obviously, if they are confirming a second time the day before, I'm coming in because I won't get an appt for 3-4 months if I reschedule. Then I am at risk of needing to come in twice to get a check and a cleaning. I drove through the snow storm and almost wrecked a couple of times. I pulled in just barely in time for my 7:45 appt and they were closed. I received a text at 8:30 notifying me they were closed for the day. I understand they are serving an underserved community but surely you can do better.

Stating it may be 24-48 hrs to get a return call or email on the answering machine doesn't make it justified and acceptable. Doesn't feel like my charts get acknowledged and because of the lack of know it equals a lack of attention and taking on absurd amount of patients with making 4 days a work week has amplified the lack of care some go thru more than others.
If I've never felt cared about they've certainly helped solidify that feeling of you're on your own until we have time and remember that you reached out sharing your mental health decline. My caregiver is great and really listens. That said I don't think she necessarily knows what is needed sometimes because those there for that aren't informing her in a timely manner.

Wow I am simply blown away by my experience today. From the moment I arrived the reception staff was pleasant and professional. My wait time was more than reasonable consider current protocols and Covid reality. I highly recommend considering Heartland for obviously dental health treatment and must imagine the other services maintain the high standard of care and treatment.
So elated to find such a wonderful resource here in LFK. I'd like to specifically mention Erin and Dr. Bell as they made me feel extremely comfortable and if I am honest like a VIP. In this trying times this is a highlight to start 2022 with a trajectory towards a better brighter future. All of this from a trip to the dentist is not expected and is a clear demonstration that behind the fog of complacency this is still the golden age! Love and Light

They do not do tooth extraction although they have dentists. Also, they do not have ob/gyn services. I really don't understand why this community health clinic exist at all. They are unable to provide basic medical and dental needs to the community. Uninsured residents in their community need to go other areas (e.g. Kansas City) for treatments.
