The best time to take your child for their first orthodontic exam is when they are age 7. This, according to the American Orthodontic Association, is the ideal time because your child may be losing baby teeth at this age while adult teeth are beginning to appear. Early interceptive orthodontic dental care is actually preventive care.
We are always excited about meeting new patients during their first visit to our office. Your initial appointment will consist of a thorough examination starting with digital photos and a discussion of potential treatment options. This important 30-minute visit will give us insight into your orthodontic needs.

We had an amazing experience coming to Beacon Orthodontic Associates. My family is from Miami and we are traveling in Boston before we drop off my daughter to summer camp in Maine. My daughter had emergency issue with her braces and we called Dr Lisann with our issue. Lynn answered the phone and was so kind and professional, she immediately spoke to Dr Lisann and they fit us in for an emergency appointment.
From the moment we walked into the office we were greated with a smile and my daughter was seen right away. They fixed her issue right away. When we were leaving my daughter asked if she could switch her orthodontist to Dr Lisann from Miami because her and the whole office staff were so kind and nice. We had the best experience and would highly recommend this practice to anyone. They made a stressful time into such a positive experience. Thank you!

Did not feel welcome here. I took my daughter for an initial orthodontic consult on March 31st. The initial woman who came in to take my daughter in (who is 9 and was a little nervous) barked at her to use hand sanitizer and when I asked if I should come in with her, said abruptly to me, "No!" I was a bit off put by this but thought it must be a one-off thing.
I had a question and spoke to the woman at the front desk. Not only did she not listen to me, she kept interrupting me, raising her voice, snapping at me and misunderstanding what I was asking. Her tone was condescending and rude. This did not bode well, especially if we had to come to this office repeatedly for orthodontic appts. We then went into see Dr. Lisann.
She at least was professional, though she did not have a warm and friendly manner with us either. At this point I was pretty upset and wanted to get out of there--I forgot that we had to go back to the desk to pay for the appt and as we were leaving the front desk woman said, "EXCUSE ME, YOU HAVE TO PAY!" I was totally taken aback. I am someone who is very conscientious about all payments--it was just that I was upset.
The kids kept repeating what she said all the way home. I was very upset after that consult. I have never been treated in such a rude and unprofessional manner as I was at Beacon Orthodontic. Given her stellar reviews for the most part, I had expected to use Dr. Lisann for not only my daughter, but also my other daughter and myself as well. Unfortunately she just lost 3 potential patients. Unless she works with her staff to make a more welcoming atmosphere, I expect we won't be the only ones.

Dr Lisann and her team are the best! Two of my children had their teeth straightened by Dr Lisann and my third child just got braces today. Dr Lisann is very careful and considerate and does an excellent job, and her staff are friendly and helpful. It's great to go to a small office, where there's never a wait and someone always answers the phone and you never feel like you're in a dental factory. They all make this process as smooth as possible.

I wanted to add a little personal note to my previous 5 star review. The BEST orthodontist around by far! I was referred to 4 different orthodontists in the Boston area after relocating from California in June of 2020 (yes, in the midst of covid!). I was in the early stages of my treatment and needed to practically start over. I initially contacted an office in Norwood (it was closer) and even sent my records over.
They later declined me their services stating they weren't taking any new patients (which I understood with covid). I then contacted Beacon Orthodontist and the rest is history! Words can't express how pleased I've been with this group! I just completed my treatment (a little early!) and I'm overjoyed with the results! Dr Lisann is so dedicated in her work and from the very beginning treated me like she would treat herself (it's obvious, trust me!).
The staff is wonderful and each time I walk in there I feel like I'm visiting old friends:). I love them so much that now my 8 y/o daughter is a patient there too! She warmed up to them very quickly and we are very pleased with her treatment progress! It's worth the drive to Brookline!

Dr. Shari Lisann and the staff of Beacon Orthodontics did an amazing job with my daughter's orthodontic needs. Dr. Lisann methodically diagnosed a treatment plan that covered all of the issues my daughter had. She also adjusted this plan along the way, based on my daughter's development. I am also amazed at the office staff and how they worked around our crazy schedule to fit my daughter in for appointments. They are very professional and provide excellent service.

My son has seen Dr. Lisann for about six to seven years. He just got his braces off yesterday, and we were sooooo happy with the results. You did a fantastic job Dr. Lisann, Becky, and the rest of the team. Thank you all for your many years of great work and care. We are very grateful. A special shout out too to Lin who is always kind, patient, and super helpful when we ask our many questions, and when helping us to make appointments with our complicated schedules. I worked in the orthodontic industry for a few years, so I had relationships with a number of orthodontists in the area. I began treatment with a different orthodontist in the winter of 2019. As my treatment progressed, I felt as though this other orthodontist wasn't getting me the result I wanted, and during the time I formed a trusting relationship with Dr. Lisann.
I knew the kind of work Dr. Lisann did, and how she treated her patients, and I decided I must switch to her to get the personalized patient experience I needed. Boy did that decision pay off! I started with Beacon Orthodontic Associates in September 2020, and thought I would need 12-18 months to correct the issues I had. Here we are today, May 2021, and I am already done! Dr. Lisann is a wizard with the Invisalign treatment planning, as well as the artistic touches to the contours of my teeth, and I am incredibly happy with my new smile!
The experience I had coming into the office with Becky, Dr. Lisann, and others, especially during a pandemic, made me feel safe, comfortable, and known. I cannot recommend Dr. Lisann highly enough!
