At Drs. Delaney, Root & Associates, PC, our Waterford pediatric dentists are dedicated to providing comprehensive dental care for infants, children and teens in a gentle, fun and family-friendly environment. We love kids, and we believe that with good home care and regular dental visits your child can grow up cavity free. Whether it's your child's first visit to our Waterford office, or just a routine checkup, we strive to make sure you and your child are always comfortable and informed. We take the time to talk with parents to help equip you and your child with the knowledge necessary for good oral hygiene.
Services
Our goal is to provide the best, pediatric and orthodontic dental care in an atmosphere that encourages your child to feel relaxed and comfortable. We are certified as specialists in pediatric dentistry and orthodontics by the State of Michigan and have over 30 years of experience in treating children.
Dr. Delaney received a dental degree from the University of Detroit Mercy and furthered his pediatric education and experience through a residency program at Children's Hospital in Detroit. He also received additional training in growth and development and child psychology to ensure the highest quality of child dental care.
Our treatment area is an open-concept design. This means our patients are in a large, fun, open room that is decorated for each season. It is a true "feast for the eyes!" We have an area for check-ups with the hygienists, an orthodontic area for Dr. Root's patients, and an area for the children scheduled with Dr. Delaney.
Your child won't keep his or her first teeth forever, but that doesn't mean those tiny pearly whites don't need conscientious care. Maintaining your child's dental health now will provide health benefits well into adulthood, as primary (baby) teeth serve some extremely important functions. For one thing, primary teeth serve as guides for the eruption of permanent (adult) teeth, holding the space into which these new teeth will erupt. The crowns (tops) of the permanent teeth actually push against the roots of the baby teeth, causing them to resorb, or melt away.

This place is straight from the Heavens! People are excellent with all kids with disabilities and without! We drove from the Saginaw area almost 2 hours and it was completely worth it. It's rare that you find a facility with such compassion and skills to properly care for and service your children's needs. I have 2 autistic children and they were both at complete peace. I will not hesitate to go again and again. 100 thumbs way up!

If I could give Zero stars I would! Dr. Delaney went out of town for a week which is fine but he had a stand in dentist that did not treat pediatric patients when he is a pediatric dentist! My son had two composite crowns come off on his front teeth. Dr. Delaney office advised they'd give me a call back to schedule him for a emergency and they did not!
I called today 3days into him being back from vacation and they lied and said they had called me to offer me an emergency but I didn't answer and advised they don't leave voicemails. When I stated no one called they then said someone had called but left vmail after advising they don't leave voicemails for emergency visits. I then request Dr. Delaney call me back which was the biggest mistake because he was unbelievably rude from the moment he began to speak.
He had no concern in regards to my son issues he never asked anything about my child. He stated my attitude was nasty and I yelled at his staff which was not true because when I called I was at work myself! His staff lies to cover up them not being attentive to my issues! Dr. Delaney was so aggressive and rude it's mind boggling. I do not recommend anyone to go to this office!

Today was our first visit to this office, and they were wonderful. The office was clean and all of the staff was super friendly. My daughter was very nervous, and they did everything possible to make her comfortable. You can tell they love kids at this practice. My daughter was in a good mood when she got home and told me all about her experience.

If I could give this office 10 stars I would! They truly exceeded my expectations in every aspect! They have different themed rooms once you get to the back to make the children feel comfortable. I love the fact they offer sedation for children. I love Dr. Delaney! My sons teeth where severely broken down and he did either bonding or composite crowns that look absolutely AMAZING & natural! My son was carried to the back by the assistant like he was her own child. You can tell his assistant enjoys her job! The whole office was EXTREMELY CLEAN & wonderful!

Very satisfied with the care and treatment my daughter received today at Dr. Delaney's office. Her very first visit she was pretty scared about what they were going to do during the procedure and if it would hurt a lot. But the assistant was very reassuring and explained what each tool was used for in "kid-friendly" language. For our family, Dr. Delaney's staff has always done such a terrific job.

Dr Delaney was so great, welcoming and took the time to sit and talk about my daughter's treatment plan, (which was a lot less invasive than the last ped dentist we had seen) his front desk has been nothing but helpful scheduling appointments around my crazy work schedule, which means the world to a busy single mom! Our second and FINAL pediatric dentist for sure! Thanks Dr Delaney & Root, and staff!

The check out people are super friendly. The front desk stuff could be better. Every time I called I felt like I am bothering them. The doctors are excellent, and I highly recommend them but the main reason why we left the office was one of the hygienist (older women) who has no idea how to work with kids and make them feel comfortable. I don't think she should be a pediatric hygienist. Kids no matter what get scared and cry from time to time, instead of calming my son down she made him feel worst.
It happened both times. The first time, I thought maybe she had a bad day but when it happened again I knew this is the way she is. All other hygienists were very friendly and very good with kids, (all patients are in the same room so you can observe how they work and engage with the kids) so I guess if you don't come across her, you will be happy with the overall experience with the office. I just decided to go somewhere else.

I wish I would have discovered this office years ago! My son has severe anxiety, 16 years, and cracked his tooth. From my first phone call to the procedure, the entire staff was exceptional. They did absolutely everything possible to make him comfortable and ease his anxiety. He was able to have work done and was actually happy about it. As a bonus, him and the doctor rocked out to We Built This City before the procedure (my son doesn't remember) and it totally made my other son's day lol. Highly recommend Delaney and Root for pediatric dentistry, great service all around! A very caring practice.

Excellent experience! The staff is very friendly and helpful, and spent time looking into my insurance and explaining what options I had for payment. The orthodontist (Dr. Jay) did a great job explaining my treatment plan and I was able to understand how he was going to fix my issues. He was clearly very well educated and up to date on the latest orthodontic treatment options.
I felt very reassured that my dental issues would be fixed and I felt confident in the care I received. I look forward to my return visits over the course of my Invisalign treatment and I am also excited to see the changes as time goes on. I also observed several pediatric patients and the staff and doctors looked like they were doing a great job making the kids feel comfortable and they looked like they were even having fun!
