Northwest Hills Smiles - Jacquelyn Vo

I've been going here for over a decade after neglecting my teeth for much of my youth. It took some time to get everything sorted but I am quite pleased with the results. Dr. Vo is wonderful, friendly, and very practical. When I needed consultation to get an implant she made the decision stress free. When I needed to get my wisdom teeth removed or a a root canal her referrals were spot on.

I also look forward to my bi-annual teeth cleanings with Claudia the hygienist. She does a very through job and I'm smiling after. They also have excellent COVID protocols, if you are concerned about going to the dentist during these times.

Once again, Dr. Vo and her great team came to my rescue. Last night I chipped a top front tooth so badly that I hoped it could be repaired. Dr. Vo got me in at 11AM and in 30 minutes my tooth was fully restored with a resin that looks and feels like the original enamel. She even smoothed every surface so that the tooth feels better on the tongue than it did before it was chipped.

Thanks to their taking my insurance, everything was completely covered without a co-pay, but the most important thing is that Dr. Vo took great care of me, with her usual kind and pleasant manner, and great support staff. I feel very fortunate to be here!

So you spring changes on people who have been coming to your location for years. Then they check local pricing because they have no idea if it's a fair price, and you tell them to leave. wow

Jackie Vo and her team are, hands down, the BEST dentist team in Austin. This recommendation comes from me, my mom, my grandparents, my aunts, my dad - everyone in our family goes to Jackie because her team are just, simply, the BEST you can get. Lightning fast, unbelievable customer service, super comforting, incredibly friendly - I literally cannot say enough positive things about this place.

I am at the point where, if I lived in another state, I would fly in to Austin just so that I could go to Northwest Hills Smiles. That's how good they are. Do your mouth a favor and trust the team here. They're the BEST you can get.

Love this dentist office! My husband and I go there for regular dental work and cleanings. A recent dental emergency was handled expertly and quicky by Dr. Jessica Heggen. Highly recommended!

Great team here. My family goes so we've seen several of their hygienists and Dr. Atassi. My family and I just went for a cleaning today and their enhanced procedures made me feel comfortable. We all scheduled to go at the same time and they accommodated us. My daughter has been going for 5 years, they always make her feel safe and happy to go to the dentist.

I've been a patient at NW Hills Smiles for over a decade. Dr. Atassi is my dentist and she's awesome along with the staff. Especially Claudia. She gets my teeth sparkling clean. I feel cared for each time I visit and Dr. Atassi is a very knowledgeable and experienced dentist. In a city where dentists are plentiful, I'm grateful to have found (in my opinion) the best one. Love this dental practice. I have been coming here for years. The staff is wonderful. Dr. Atassi and Cathy the dental hygienist that I see but Sashaa and Kori are so very pleasant also. I've not interacted with the others but I'm pretty certain this office hires outstanding personnel.

I have been a patient here for a few years and trust Dr. Vo and Dr. Atassi. They give honest, reasonable advice and use conservative approaches. They're good listeners and take the time to explain things well and provide assurance before any treatment. I also appreciate that NW Hills is an all-female dental team. I have 3 daughters, two of whom are also patients here, and it feels good to support this practice.

I love NW Hills smiles! I have seen both Drs Vo and Atassi & they are both wonderful. Everyone I've had contact with from front office staff to the hygienist (Cathy- you rock!) all Cheerful & pleasant. The best dental experience I've ever had. I was nervous about going now due to Covid but their safety precautions and screening are very thorough.

Unfortunately I did not have a good experience with a crown placement at this office. I want others to be aware and advise to get a second opinion if something doesn't seem right. 4 years ago I had a molar crown performed here. They couldn't get the shape and fit right not once but twice. So the crown had to get remade twice. After that poor experience I switched dental providers.

My new dentist informed me that the crown is not seated correctly and advised me to get it redone before it does more damage (cavity or breaks etc). I was planning to do just that, but before I could the crown fell off and cracked at the base, where it meets the gum line. The crown cannot be reused and was defective in the first place so my new dentist does not advise reusing it anyway. Northwest Hills will not do anything to assist me in replacing it as their warranty policy is for 1 year only.

My insurance stated the standard warranty is 5 years, not 1 year but it's ultimately up to the provider, and my insurance als won't provide any coverage until after 5 years because of this. So now I'm looking at $1,400 out of pocket, on top of the $618 I paid Northwest Hills 4 years ago, to fix their bang-up job of dental work. It's very disheartening to say the least. Crowns are a basic procedure and should last 20 years or longer:(.

Be your own advocate, trust your instincts, and act sooner rather than later. Learn from my mistake. **In response to my initial post, I was contacted by Northwest Hills Smiles to clear up the confusion. They are absolutely willing to help me, beginning with an initial appointment to determine the quality of the crown and possible no charge replacement.

I truly appreciate the response from their office. I understand these things happen and am really happy they're willing to help investigate and reach a solution. Thank you Northwest Hills Smiles! As other posts mention, your follow up was very classy and professional.

I had an excellent experience at Northwest Hills Smiles. Everyone there was very nice and helpful. Dr. Atassi and her assistant were very thorough and professional with my crown procedure. Kelly gave my teeth a very thorough cleaning and gave me a lot of great information about how to properly clean my teeth the right way and what products she recommends. Overall - A+++

We've moved a few times requiring us to find a new dentist each time. We moved to Austin about 10 years ago, my wife found Northwest Hills Smiles on a recommendation and they have become far and above my favorite dentist. The staff is always friendly, professional, and accommodating. Claudia, my hygienist, always greets me with a smile, of course, and a kind word and is always thorough and gentle. Dr. Heggen is fantastic at explaining the financial and technical aspects of treatment options and her counsel and craft have significantly improved the health of my teeth over the past decade. I'd highly recommend Northwest Hills Smiles as your new or next dentist.

I love this dental office. Everyone is so nice and the whole office seems to love their job and it shows. I recently needed to get an appointment asap and they went the extra mile to get me in. I ended up needing a root canal (bummer) and they referred me to an oral surgeon and got me an appointment the next day. The oral surgeon was wonderful also. My daughter and son in law are now patient's and love them too!

I saw Dr. Vo for the first time today. I switched from a practice I had been going to for 15 years so I was a bit nervous going into it but couldn't have had a better experience! The person that took my xrays/photos was thorough and explained everything in detail. Dr Vo was wonderful! She is so smart and explained all sorts of things about my teeth/gums and is very up to date on research.

My hygienist, Cathy, was great as well! She is kind and thoughtful. She was gentle on my mouth. I was there for a long time. Everyone was friendly and hospitable. They didn't try to sell me anything or talk up some strange product which was great, some dentist offices feel like car dealerships these days. Looking forward to going back and will bring my 2 year old to see them!

This dental office is phenomenal! Dr. Vo and her staff are friendly, efficient, and very knowledgeable. Their hygienist Claudia was very thorough and gentle. They are up to date with the latest in technology and preventative techniques. I would highly recommend this office for any dental treatment needed.

Dr. Atassi is a wonderful dentist with a cheery bedside manner. She's always friendly and thorough, and she makes every effort to make you comfortable. The clinic itself is in a lovely area with large windows that face the woods. I've twice seen deer walking around and feeding on the plants out there. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a good dentist.

Dr. Vo and the entire team at NWHS are fantastic, meticulous and super friendly. Best dentist I've ever been to and the entire check up and cleaning process is seamless and as mentioned extremely meticulous! Love it here! Keep up the great work!

I had some quack dentist in Lubbock place an improper crown in 2010, and for years I was unable to chew on that side of my mouth. Then I moved to Austin in 2012 and found Dr. Heggen. In one visit, she found the issue (the crown was mis-sized) and fixed the problem. I can now eat anything I want - well, anything my wife approves at least. Seriously, these people are great.

They are professional, run on time, funny, and they let me chill silently when they clean my teeth rather than trying to engage in those awkward conversations while cleaning my teeth. My wife and three kids go to them as well. I highly recommend that anybody looking for a top notch dentist check them out.

I saw Dr. Vo and the experience was wonderful from beginning to end. My last dentist treated my head like it was in the way of my teeth. Not only did everyone I interact with treatment me like a VIP, but they explained everything they were doing and why, and took care of everything I needed in one visit. They use things I have not had at other offices, like a thing they put in your mouth to let you rest your jaw while your mouth stays open for them.

They also thoroughly explained to me why things were happening. What a short term fix would be and what a long term fix would be. They fixed a chipped tooth and two broken fillings and they were so fast, only numbed me where they needed (which doesn't sound like a big thing until a dentist numbs half your face including your eye lid for one bottom filling), and we so friendly. I will definitely be back and recommend them to everyone.

I've been coming here for a few years for cleanings and checkups. My hygienist, Claudia, always does a great job with my cleanings and the Dr.s are fantastic. Last night I chipped a molar and so I made an appointment first thing in the morning. Dr Atassi was able to see me the same day and get me fitted for a crown. She has a gentle touch and her assistant, Essie made sure I was comfortable the whole time.

Never thought I'd be leaving a great review for a dentist as it's not my favorite place to go but they have always been wonderful to see. I'd definitely recommend giving them a call.

Dr. Vo and her team changed my life. Not even kidding. I used to be terrified of the dentist and would get horrible anxiety every time I had to go in - so naturally, I only went when tooth pain was bad enough to override my fear. Now I look forward to my routine cleanings and seeing Dr. Vo! The group at Northwest Hills are amazing people who genuinely care about their patients.

Yeah, the customer service here is terrible - I am not sure how you even get past that to LIKE the dentist to begin with. First, I emailed because they were closed and asked if I could set up an appointment. NO RESPONSE. I mean if you can't setup an appointment by email fine, but at least reply and tell me to call. Then I called, and they won't set the appointment because I didn't have my insurance card on hand.

I verified ahead of time they are in my network and know who my insurer is, but they refused to even book a time and let me call back in a few hours once I could get my card. That's ridiculous. I mean what if I didn't have insurance and wanted to pay directly, you would book me then but not if I have insurance, verified its in your network and will call back with the exact details? Obviously, this place doesn't care about going the extra mile to make sure patients are happy.

I can't believe I haven't written a review for them yet! I love this place. I see Dr. Atassi who is so sweet and so knowledgeable. Because of genetics, I have had bad luck with cavities over the years, but I've never felt pushed upon by anyone here. Just given good information and options. Plus it's settled into a hillside in Northwest Austin, so your view while you're in the chair is of trees and nature.

I'm years late in posting this update, but it needs to be done. I saw another dentist six months after seeing Dr. Vo because one of the fillings I had done at her office was already discoloring along the edges, and another completely fell out after about 8 months. I had to have one of the fillings redone, and the other tooth had to be capped.

I even got a third opinion and all subsequent dentists agreed that the fillings had been improperly placed the first time. Oy vey. I'm sure Dr. Vo would have probably fixed my fillings had I gone back to make her aware of the issues (she really does seem like a reasonable person whom I just happened to catch on a really bad day), but I had such a bad experience here that sucking up the cost to pay for the repairs was preferable to going back.
