Oral health is the foundation of total body health. More and more research shows the link between oral health, heart disease, oral cancers and even Alzheimer's. Prevention in dentistry is key to catching conditions early and staying out of the dental chair; neglect is not only painful but expensive.
Century Smile offers full-service dentistry without referrals. From regular check-up exams and dental cleanings to dental implant placement and Invisalign, our practice can accommodate all of your dental needs. Progressive dentistry, top of the line materials and state of the art technology are incorporated to provide patients with the best solutions to improve and maintain a healthy smile.
It's not just important to keep your teeth clean and cavity-free, but it can profoundly impact your overall health. This often surprises many people, but many serious health issues are linked to poor oral hygiene. There is a correlation between oral health issues and illnesses such as bone loss, cancer, strokes, and other heart-related conditions.
When performing a dental tooth extraction, one or more teeth are removed from sockets in your jaw, known as the dental alveolus. The alveolar bone anchors our teeth with the help of joints that connect to the roots of your teeth called gomphosis. These pieces work together to keep your teeth rooted and in place in your jaw, meaning the ability to maintain their function and formation properly is vital to your dental health. Your teeth are an important, vital, and delicate part of your jaw, and so removal must be done by a dental professional.

I highly recommend Century Smile and Maryam Talaie, D.D.S. The entire staff is kind and always takes me at or earlier than my appointment time. The office is beautiful, clean and a luxury experience. I get my teeth cleaned regularly, gums deep cleaned and have done Invisalign here. I couldn't be happier with my experience and recommend this location to all of my family and friends!

I'm a new patient here. I appreciated the beauty and cleanliness of the office; first impressions are everything. The staff at the front desk were very nice. The dental hygienist who cleaned my teeth did a great job, and was very pleasant as well. He took his time explaining what his examination of my teeth revealed, and the course of action necessary.
The dentist was warm and caring during our exchange. She took her time explaining everything that I needed, and answered all of my questions making sure I understand everything; I didn't feel rushed. I appreciate a dental office that's concerned about their clients health by having "state of the art" equipment ensuring they give you the best care possible unlike the dental office I came from.
You won't be disappointed coming here and I do plan to refer family and friends. Update: January 18, 2022 Once again, this dental office doesn't disappoint. With each visit, they are helping me smile again. Can't say enough about how caring the staff is, and how they are taking my dental health seriously. Because of lack of caring from my previous dental office which helped create a lot of problems with my teeth, this office is steadily getting my teeth issues corrected.
My husband is now a client and I expect one of my daughter's and her husband to become clients too. Another update: as of March 2022 Went to this dental office for a regular cleaning to maintain the deep cleaning procedure done previously. As always, I arrived for my appointment a little ahead of time and, they were ready for me as scheduled. My cleaning was more than expected because they used equipment the I had no experience with, which at the end I'm sure helped make my mouth feel as amazing as it did.
The cleaning was very comfortable. Jarvin who did my cleaning took time to review the progress of my gums, this overall was a great experience. I've had ongoing services at this dental office (trying to make many dental wrongs right from the previous dental office's lack of attention/treatment), and I can honesty say I am finally able to chew comfortably. I trust my family with this dental office.

I love Century Smile. Dr. Talaie is a great dentist and fixed all my dental issues painlessly. I just went to see Jarvis the dental hygienist for a teeth cleaning. He is the best most thorough hygienist I have ever been to. He is gentle and leaves you with sparkling clean teeth and healthier gums. If you are looking for a dentist this is the place to go. They have all the newest equipment and a great staff.

Dr. Talaie is the best dentist I've ever been to in Culver City. The office is BEAUTIFUL, and not to mention the work I got done. I was shows pictures and X-rays before and after my dental work on what was done. I was explained thoroughly on my treatment plan and was breakdown into parts. The fact I was able to get my treatment done and have monthly payments was AMAZING and a huge plus on my behalf. Also the fact she was on the Leading Physician's of the World Book made me feel like I came in to the right office and without a doubt receiving the BEST DENTAL JOB!

Tooth aches are the worse but coming into an office and being extremely welcoming already made my dentist visit very different from the other offices I have gone to. All employee at the office are very caring and understandable. I have experienced harsh dental trauma, and I was talked through the whole process of what my dental visit was going to be like. There just isn't enough words to explain how EXTREMELY AMAZING this office is.

I visited two places in the Culver City area prior to finding Century Smile. Their offices are gorgeous, clean and sometimes you may have a nice view from your dentist chair! Dr. Maryam is very kind and knowledgeable. Unlike my previous dentists, she will never push expensive services that you don't need on you. For parking, they have their own safe garage which makes it so easy because parking in Culver can sometimes be hard. I've already recommended my roommate, neighbors and friends to visit Century Smile so now I'm extending that to strangers on the internet

Great service with Century Smile! I arrived on time for my appointment and was greeted promptly with warmth and a very easy check-in process. I was immediately attended. All my questions were addressed and I was explained everything in a very understandable manner. The venue itself it immaculately maintained. Would highly recommend for others.

I went for my first visit and was not impressed. I had x-rays taken and a (partial) cleaning. I waited at least 15 minutes between the x-rays and the cleaning. The hygienist only came to begin the cleaning after I had to find someone and inquire about the delay. I state that I received a "partial" cleaning because the hygienist did not polish my teeth.
I thought it was odd but I unknowingly thought the polishing was just a brushing and assumed my teeth were already clean enough. It was not until I inquired with my good friend, a dentist, that she confirmed that the polishing is supposed to be a part of the cleaning. The dentist saw a dark spot on my x-rays, and although no other dentist voiced their concerns about this spot and I have never had any discomfort, she used a scare tactic to express her concerns, but also admitted to not being a specialist and wanting a second opinion. Overall, I would not recommend this dentist office.

Always a great experience at Century Smile and I have to say, they are really on top of it when it comes to providing dental services during this COVID-19 pandemic. They were organized, provided safety gear, and made me feel completely comfortable throughout the process. Would really recommend the team at Century Smile!

This review is for the office manager and not Dr. T. I've visited the office twice and had wonderful experiences both times. But when I called to inquire about my request for a copy of my x-rays, the office manager had a really bad attitude. I explained to her I wanted individual files of my x-rays and not a screenshot (the one she sent me was also cut-off).
She responded by saying that this is how it's always been done because she's the office manager (despite another staff told me via email that it was doable to send individual files). When I pushed by saying another staff said it was doable, she said she's too busy to handle my request and I should just let the other staff handle my request. Sure, I'm fine with having another staff handle my request, but what was the point of sending me a screenshot of something that I had already received previously and made clear was not what I needed?
Most importantly, how is her being too busy my problem? I understand offices are short-staffed during COVID but that is no excuse to give your patients bad attitude for something that is in her right to obtain. I can't help but think that because I am taking these x-rays to another dentist, they don't see the need to invest in me because I'm a churned customer.

I am from NYC and upon moving to LA was super duper fussy on who I choose as my dentist. I recommend this office for anyone who is seeking quality dental care- guaranteed! Dr. Talaei is intelligent, personable, and detail oriented. The front desk calls the insurance to make sure you are aware of everything related to billing so you aren't caught off guard. Caring, efficient and everything is explained to the tee before doing the procedure.
Glad I was referred to her on the West Coast and super happy with the experience. An incredible dentist! If you are looking for a great dentist don't hesitant on choosing Dr. T and Century Smile Dental!

Thank you Dr. Talaie! Entire staff is professional, courteous and polite. I highly recommend this dental office. I brought my father in for a lower denture and Dr. Talaie took the needed time to get this denture done right. My father is happy and has the confidence to smile again and enjoy a life that having teeth can bring. Century Smile was recommended to me by a trusted family member and I'm grateful for that recommendation. Thank you Century Smile! God bless you all.

I hate the dentist. I am a grown man and I don't think anything scares me more. Needless to say it has been a few years since I have been. However, the dentists at Century smile made going to the dentist as "pain free" as it could be. They were careful and thorough while not being pushy or trying to upsell me. I was there for almost 3 hours (as I said, it had been a while) and they did everything they could (offering me headphones and more novocaine than a horse) to make it go by as quickly as it could.
I left feeling like I had a new set of teeth and actually wanting to do the upkeep to make each subsequent (and more frequent) appointment as easy as possible. For a scaredy cat like me, if you gotta go to the dentist, this is the place. Also, they worked with my insurance to make the process relatively pain free on my wallet as well.

Came in yesterday for wisdom teeth extraction. I've been experiencing a lot of jaw pain and couldn't chew so I wanted it to be ASAP. Made an appointment on Wednesday and came in Thursday and got my wisdom teeth extracted. Took me in right right at the time of my appointment so there wasn't any lag. I did probably too much reading on WebMD but century smile dental did a great job at answering all my questions patiently. Appreciated that a lot. Local anesthesia. All in all, overall a positive experience here although I couldn't have imagined saying this (I hate going to the dentist) Parking is easy & free

I had a great experience with Dr. T and her staff. They actually took me in sooner than my appointment time and her hygienist was very nice & informative. I would definitely recommend this office to anyone. The office was clean & staff were friendly & efficient. And NO they didn't offer me free movie tickets to write a good review. All the negative reviews make no sense to me because they never tried to push me to do something to my teeth if I didn't want to.

Well going here definitely taught me the importance of getting a second opinion. I've always had great teeth and going in here they wanted to do all kinds of crazy stuff that turned out I didn't need any of it. Sold me a night guard, wanted to do a deep cleaning, wanted to drill a cavity that didn't exist. A bunch of crooks! I went in for a cleaning and surprise!
The hygienist wasn't in that day? Come in an extra day too? And they give their patients free movie tickets and stuff for writing positive reviews so take the rest of these fake reviews with a grain of salt. Money grubbing crooks! Should be ashamed of themselves.

Saw the great reviews and decided to get my cleaning done here at CenturySmile and it was a great decision. Dr. Kim and his staff are very friendly and although I don't like visiting the dentist, I felt very comfortable throughout the whole experience. While changing my filing, Dr. Kim was very thorough in explaining everything he was doing and continuously checked on me to make sure I wasn't in any pain.
I highly recommend getting any dental procedure or cleaning done at Sunshine Dental. Its no fluke why CenturySmile has all of these great reviews, they do a great job and I highly recommend choosing this place for your dental work.

I had a teeth whitening and a cleaning done by Century Smile earlier this week, and I cannot express enough how awesome and professional the entire staff was. When I got there, there wasn't a wait, I got right in, and the staff was so friendly, knowledgeable, and gentle, I will absolutely be returning. I think I've found my new dentist in the area. Thanks guys!

I have had few different dentist and definitely Dr Talaie has been my favorite. I Trautt her suggestions and I know she is looking for my best interest and doesn't wanna make money of me by suggesting unnecessary cosmetic. I can say I love visiting my Dentise and I look forward for my cleaning appointments and looove hearing that my teeth are in the best shape ever. also I love the free parking-the juice fridge- their online booking and confirmation system- the friendly staff- the experience dental assistants- the great prices- the clean & warm office and operating rooms and most importantly the fact that I know I'm being worked by the top and best dentist ever " Dr Talai". oh god I can't stop writing^_^ oh and my goodie bag that I get after every visit

Took care of me when my insurance was being difficult in switching over doctors. I was obviously frustrated and instead of giving me strife they helped me out, the receptionists really are angels! They didn't try to tell me I had cavities I didn't have and were very honest with me! Also great that they have parking right next to the building. I stupidly didn't call and spent too much time running around filling up meters! Really appreciate it! Thank you for being a great dentist office!

I went here several times because it was close to my work. At the time I didn't have insurance and was paying out of pocket and didn't have a lot of money. I told them that multiple times but they still pushed expensive gum wash treatments on me twice since my gums were apparently terrible. And then they tried to pressure me into buying an $800 mouth guard for minor teeth grinding without even considering or recommending a cheaper option (such as the $15 ones at pharmacies.?).
The last straw for me was when one of them asked me a question while they had their tools in mouth. I grunted an "uh huh" response because again. the tools in my open mouth and she turned to the person next to her and remarked about people being rude recently and not answering her questions. After the gum treatments didn't seem to be helping I decided to go to another dentist a couple months later and they said my gums were fine.
So something is sketchy about that situation. My overall impression is that this place tries to do as many things as they can to rack up the cost so if you don't have insurance or a lot of money I would avoid! The only saving grace of this place is that the receptionist was friendly.

One of the most disorganized offices I have ever had to deal with. They are also really pushy on selling you extras you don't need. I was able to get out of there just buying a night guard, but they wanted to sell me over 1k of additional treatments. I went to another dentist for a 2nd opinion and he said I didn't have to have all my porcelain replaced.
That it was fine and the small chip I have only needed to be smoothed a bit. Also the lady that puts down the hard sell has the most janky manicure I have ever seen. Missing nails, jagged chipped polish, super grown out. Thank god! I would've bought everything she was trying to sell me, but if she can't take care of her nails, how can I trust her with my teeth. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Dentistry is a weird industry. No other medical field spends so much time upselling products and services. This office is no exception to that phenomenon, but since I have yet to find a dentist that didn't try to sell me on a new nightguard, invisiline, deep cleaning, prescription toothpaste, electric toothbrushes or glow in the dark floss - I can't really fault them for it.
My complaint is this: I went in for a cleaning. My first visit was extremely rushed, Dr Talaie was extraordinarily distracted by something going on at home. This is not an assumption on my part, she actually told me that. On top of that, they were short staffed, again, I know because they told me. For a first time client, I already knew way too much about their office drama for my comfort.
After the evaluation, Dr. Talaie declared I needed an intermediate cleaning. I had to schedule the actual cleaning for a later date (not their fault). So I come back for the cleaning. I am put with another dentist (not Dr. Talaie) who proceeds to ask me what my zodiac sign is and then explains to me that this information is actually an important part of my dental profile. Huh?
She then reexamines my teeth and declares I actually need a deep cleaning. About two weeks ago I didn't (according to Dr. Talaie) but in that time span I have evidently contracted serious gum disease and my mouth is a ticking time bomb. She repeatedly tries to sell me on a deep cleaning which would have run me close to $900. I repeatedly told her that I was only doing what my insurance covered.
During the cleaning that my shoddy insurance covered (I was repeatedly reminded that my insurance stunk, as if I didn't know that) she kept telling me how much my gums were bleeding. Not really necessary to keep reminding me of that, plus, I might add, she was poking at them with a pointed medical instrument. I maintain that anything that is poked at enough with a pointed medical instrument will bleed, a lot.
At the close of the appointment, she again tries to sell me on a deep cleaning and I am again reminded of the borderline dental emergency that I am facing, which I evidently wasn't facing two weeks ago. Then, she looks at the freckles on my shoulder, and with a look of honest horror in her eyes, asks "What is that?" I replied "Freckles." She proceeds to tell me a story of a woman who came in with 'skin peeling off like a fish' and the dangers of not using sunscreen. Alright.
I am informed at check out that they refuse to do any more work on me due to my 'advanced gum disease' (which again, was evidently not present two weeks ago) until I get a deep cleaning. The nurse runs a bill for me that shows me that I will be paying nearly $900 if I choose to get said deep cleaning. Not. Going. To. Happen. At least not without a second opinion.
I don't know if it was the inclusion of my astrological sign as a marker of my dental health or the confusion over my freckles, or even the fact that in a two week span, my dental diagnosis completely changed - but I don't feel confident in their diagnosis. Overall - odd office. I came home, called my shoddy insurance and switched dental offices.

Dr. Talaie is the best. My teeth are the proof. Caring front office (Gabby is the best) and overall great vibe. They make you feel very welcome and keep you informed of what's going on. I'm the type of person that forgets all my appointments, so it's helpful that they can send text and email reminders. Thanks Dr. Talaie!

There's the bad, there's the ugly, and then there's Dr. Talaie. When it comes to my experiences with this dentist, there's no good. Let's start at the beginning. I made the mistake of allowing my insurance to assign me a dentist. I'm not sure why I bothered, since she made excuses for not actually doing any of the things I needed done that were covered by insurance - like the basic cleaning - but that's another story.
I will concede some guilt in this regard. I have gone too far between dental check-ups in the past, and I had a bad cavity in a molar, where it abutted a wisdom tooth so closely that I could not get floss between them. So, that needed to be taken care of. I had deep pockets on some teeth. Not as deep as she told me they were - I had two other dentists check this - and they have since FULLY recovered with nothing but routine cleaning (not even deep cleaning) and daily use of a waterpik, but I'll concede that they were not good.
But she told me I needed a laser treatment for this - a treatment that permanently damages the gum, requiring 3x annual follow-up treatments. Had I allowed her to do this (expensive) operation, I would be facing permanent consequences. And having gotten a second opinion, I am now fully recovered. So there's that. And then there's the cavity. So, she drilled it, determined it would need a crown, sent me for a root canal (and insisted that I get the wisdom tooth that abutted it pulled, which I have since been told was likely an unnecessary procedure, but one that made things easier on her) and scheduled the casting, prep, and post, and the placement of the crown. Now, I'm not going to quibble on her prices, other than to say that either my insurance was worthless or she screwed me.
Or both. That having been said, there was the crown itself. The procedure was wretched, on account of her equipment failing midway through the procedure, and having to wait two days to resume. and then there was the fact that she slipped with her drill and put a hole in a previously healthy neighboring tooth. and initially tried to charge me for the filling on the tooth she accidentally damaged. and. well, you get the idea.
And then she told me that they sent the wrong type of filling, but it was an upgrade, and she was not going to charge me for it, so I was lucky. But. see my attached photo. Five months. That's how long the crown lasted. My current dentist took one look, said it was too thin and the foundation hadn't been filled deep enough, and that was why it cracked.
All I know is, I paid extra for a longer lasting crown, and I got this. I moved away from Los Angeles shortly before the crown cracked, but if I had still lived close enough to make her stand behind her work. I still wouldn't trust this woman anywhere near my teeth again.
I will concede some guilt in this regard.
