Implants are a solution for missing teeth. When a space is created by a missing tooth, it allows surrounding teeth to move, which may lead to further tooth loss. We understand that going to the dentist can be scary. We want to make sure this fear isn't holding you back from important dental care decisions.
At our practice, we go to great lengths to provide comfortable and effective dental care. To help achieve this, our team is equipped with some of the most innovative technology available in dentistry. Read on to learn about some of the technology we feature at Dentistry of Nashville. For patients suffering from periodontal disease, we offer LANAP laser treatment as an alternative to conventional surgery. This treatment is accomplished using a variable pulsed laser, eliminating the need for incisions.
We restored this patient's smile from years of neglect and presented with multiple failed restorations, collapsed bite resulting in excessive anterior wear, and abscessed teeth. We restored this patient's smile that had congenitally missing and malformed teeth resulting in lifelong esthetic and occlusal problems.
Implants are a solution for missing teeth. When space is created by a missing tooth, it allows surrounding teeth to move, which may lead to further tooth loss. An implant is affixed to the jaw bone to mimic a tooth and tooth root, keeping the surrounding teeth in line, and restoring function. At our practice in Nashville, we'll perform every step of the implant process in one convenient location. In some cases, Dr. Fleming will recommend one or more supplemental procedures to prepare the patient for the dental implant process.

I made an appointment to get my wisdom teeth extracted / removed. They grew in straight, but unfortunately they were rotten. Michael Vaughan, DDS was my dentist. He was assisted by Jayme and Lisa, two sweet, witty ladies. They were a pleasure to talk to, easing my anxiety prior to the procedure / surgery. I opted for sedation during extraction / surgery.
Despite being a difficult stick, often requiring IV therapy at Vanderbilt, Dr. Vaughan was successful. I requested to be put completely under / sedated. The right cocktail of drugs was administered. I feel asleep quickly, feeling no pain and experiencing no stress. Upon waking up, I was only slightly intoxicated. For safety reasons, I was put in a wheelchair and pushed to my ride.
Despite the ridiculous federal and state restrictions on opioid pain medication, to my surprise I was prescribed an opioid pain killer, a very effective medication preventing any pain after the procedure. The surgery was superbly performed without complications. After returning home, I experienced no pain, and bleeding thankfully stopped within a few hours after the procedure.
No difficulty talking, drinking, and eating. Everyone at Dentistry of Nashville were sweet and professional. Therapeutic, calming environment. My spouse and I have had several procedures performed at Dentistry of Nashville, and due to the exceptional staff and service, Dentistry of Nashville will always be our go-to-place for all dental services. To Lisa, Jayne, and Dr. Vaughan, thank you so much for your excellent service.

OK, so this may take a little explaining. I recently was suffering from a bone spicule (as I was to learn), which is a protrusion of bone through the gum tissue. It was very sharp and irritating my tongue when I talked or swallowed. I asked for an emergency appointment, and they saw me within hours. I was treated with sympathy and care. Dr. Fleming examined me, and explained what the situation was, carefully and reassuringly. An oral surgeon could excise it, but they usually healed themselves in a relatively short time.
He could tell I was disappointed that it couldn't be magically healed on the spot, but urged me to be patient. "Give it a week, " he said, and provided some referrals to oral surgeons if it didn't improve in that time frame. The very next day (!) the bone spur dislodged and my mouth was much better. What I really appreciated was Dr. Fleming's steering me away from unnecessary and expensive care, even though he could tell I wanted my discomfort to disappear immediately.
It isn't that he wasn't sympathetic, it was that he understood that my impatience was not in my actual best interest. The turn of events demonstrated that he was absolutely right. These are trustworthy professionals who are not trying to sell you therapies or cater to your panicky self-diagnoses, but who use their long experience and medical expertise to give you the treatment best for you (and your wallet!). I'm very grateful.

I've spent the majority of my life dealing with orthodontists and dentists and this was absolutely the worst experience for me. I went in needing to get new clear retainers made for me, they did the impressions, I paid the $300, and came back in 2 weeks to get them. The top retainer wouldn't fit, so she cut off the back part of the retainer, still didn't fit.
I was already upset that I paid for a full retainer and got a half one, but it not fitting for what I paid upset me too. When I called to ask if they would make me a new one that fit properly, she told me that it wouldn't be any different because I won't bite down hard enough to get it to fit. I may have weak teeth and be nervous, but this has never been an issue in the past.
I just went to another place to get new ones and guess what? They fit perfectly fine, no cutting anything down, didn't blame me for not biting down hard enough because I DIDN'T NEED TO with these. Go to a proper orthodontist for retainers, I'm out $600 now because I decided to give this place a try.

This dentist and practice were recommended to me by a friend who has been going there for years. Went for my first visit and they were great! Had a bad prior dental experience in a different state so I really appreciate a dental hygienist who is gentle but thorough! The dentist was also awesome and efficient. Will be back!

I tried another dentist before eventually winding up here after getting a second opinion. I felt so much more comfortable here than with the other provider. I recently had work done for the first time (2nd visit, 1st was just a consult) and am very satisfied with the level of customer service and quality of work received. As a very high anxiety patient who has a lot of fear around dental work, it's tough to find someone who is compassionate and understanding. I feel cared for here and will keep coming back!

You would be hard pressed to find a better home for dental care than Dentistry of Nashville. I have been a patient of Dr. Michael Vaughn for many years. If he had chosen to be a college football coach he could have had Vanderbilt competing for SEC championships! All the hygienists past and present equal Teeth Cleaning All-Americans. A homecoming queen can't match the smiles and assistance of long timer Lori and fairly newcomer Shelley at the front desk.
I am very fortunate long ago to have found Dentistry of Nashville. Professionalism, caring and kindness make for a pleasurable experience each visit. You never hear, "I look forward to going to the dentist." Truthfully, I do. It is like seeing family.

These guys are true professionals - they were super flexible with scheduling and were able to fast-track me from first checkup to wisdom teeth removal in less than two weeks. Dr. Vaughn is possibly the best dentist I have ever been treated by - super efficient, very clearly a veteran of the profession, and provided thorough explanations and treatment options. Lisa, who was my RDA, was very patient with me and made sure I had a good experience (as much as pulling teeth can be). Overall a great experience. I cannot recommend them enough.

I have been a patient at Dentistry of Nashville for many years. I live in Franklin but it's no problem to drive up to the Vanderbilt area - especially when the dental technicians are so thorough and friendly. My dentist is Dr. Michael Vaughan. He is excellent and I trust my teeth to him! The other 2 dentists are great also. If you. are looking for a dentist, please come to Dentistry of Nashville.

I love this place. The hygienist was amazing. Gentle, quick and thorough. Dr Vaughn is the best dentist I have ever been to, and after a move and 3 years with someone else, I am so happy we moved back to Nashville and Dr Vaughn. He is professional, knowledgeable and definitely someone I trust with my teeth.

I'm very happy to have found this group! They did such a thorough job of cleaning my teeth, taking extra time and care in hard to reach places. They didn't force unnecessary extras and made sure my insurance covered something before they proceeded. My teeth look fantastic! Actually excited to go back!
