I am very sorry to post this review because I actually like this doctor. However, his staff is a different story. They treated me so rudely when I called to inquiry about their miscommunication when scheduling me for my first exam, when they had verified with my insurance for coverage. It was all a mistake on their part. They verified my insurance would cover me for a different type of dental exam/different CPT code.
Now I have to deal with calling my insurance myself and being told the dental office mistakenly verified the wrong information. My recommendation, is for you to always check the CPT codes being billed by the dentist prior to scheduling and verifying that it will get covered before you end up in a situation when you trust this office for their word and then end up being yelled at by the staff when you inquiry about their mistake.
They need to train their staff to treat patients with understanding and compassion, not with aggressiveness and merely hatred. Sorry you hate your job, but don't take it out on innocent people! Focus your anger on better training your staff to do their job.

I had one gum graft surgery years ago and was satisfied with the result. A few months ago I had another gum graft due to gum recession on two upper teeth on the left. After it was all done I could not believe it that he actually put the graft way above the recession. I don't understand. My general dentist was appalled when she saw the result. So basically the surgery was not done to fix my gum recession. DISAPPOINTED! I need to go back to another periodontist to get it done correctly.

This was the WORST experience we've ever had! They quoted my husband for his grafts at the first visit and we signed agreeing to pay what we thought would be the remaining balance after insurance. They never checked his benefits before the surgery (something happened in between initial visit and surgery). So, AFTER the surgery we were notified that we owed over $1000 without an option for a payment plan.
When we could have just waited until January when his benefits would renew and it would be completely covered! This whole mess resulted in collections because we were trying to hire a lawyer in the meantime! It has been such a traumatic experience and we will NEVER step foot in this doctor's office again. The staff and doctor were unwilling to take responsibility for not checking benefits prior to surgery.
I worked for a surgeon for 4 years and we ALWAYS checked benefits and out of pocket for the patient within a week of surgery! This doctor and his staff have caused so much financial stress for our family!

My wife has had several grafts back to back without incident. She remarked that his customer service was excellent. His post up instructions were thorough. His office staff handled our insurance well and genuinely cared about the outcome of every procedure performed. I would recommend Dr. Mark sebastian for any periodontal work. It is his passion and he does it very well.
