The dentist themselves are great! Very patient and explain everything! They are the only reason I still go to the dang dentist. I had terrible anxiety of dentists and since going here, the DENTIST has been great with me and my anxiety has gone down. I give the dentist themselves and one assistant The supporting staff however, TERRIBLE and the reason I'm giving a lower rating (with the exception of one dental assistant who is amazing!
She works Fridays) The other staff however, They NEVER answer the phone within a timely manner. Every time I call I'm on hold for like 30 min before I give up. Every time I leave a message they never get back to me. You have to call back to back to get anyone on the phone. This is NOT a recent thing as I have been with this dentist for 3 years and have had the same issues from the beginning.
They take long to make movement on treatment unless it's an emergency. Make sure you always get the name of person you are talking to, note what they told you and ensure they make a note of it including pricing to make sure you don't get jipped! Since they tried to over charge me once, I always run everything with my insurance and I highly suggest you do to.
If you only care about your dentist doing good work, nd are ok with the bs the staff puts you through, , I suggest going here. But if you want good customer service from the staff and billing go elsewhere.

Unfortunately, have to update my review because of a few instances that have happened. First, a couple of years ago, they got super busy and the cleaning my daughter was supposed to get while we were there had to be changed. I let that slide and had to make sure insurance wasn't billed for services not rendered. There were other instances that I should have paid more attention to but let them slide as well, such as a previous employee trying to force a molar band on one of my daughter's teeth for her braces which hurt her so bad to the point where she said she didn't want to go there anymore and she had trouble eating.
They got a new employee that was way better and he said he wouldn't do that and he didn't and he is very gentle and pleasant to deal with. What made me change my review today though, was the fact that we were told my daughter needs a special cleaning and gum treatment last week. We were told that her insurance wouldn't cover it and we would have to pay out of pocket. Talking with her dad and knowing the insurance that he provides is really good(this was even told to us by other dental offices in the past, they said it was so good we should never change it)we decided to ask for the billing code so we could contact the insurance.
So I went in today and asked for the code. Then I'm told that the insurance does cover it and they will submit it to them. So, if I wouldn't have asked for this info, we would have had to pay a few hundred out of pocket for no reason, when times are still hard due to covid. Now I don't know if I can trust their word on treatments and what is or isn't covered and will now be asking for billing codes to go over it with the insurance company before I agree to treatments for her. It's sad because I originally gave them five stars but now they no longer have our trust.

First came here last December, got a full deep cleaning, paid out of pocket couple hundred cuz my insurance sucks. I return last month (8 months later) for what I think is a regular / general cleaning (insurance covers 2 a year / every 12 months). I arrive right at 9 & Before checking in I ask the lady employee if I can use the restroom & she replies "are you a patient?" Maybe it's just me but I think that was an inappropriate way to greet a patient, it was obvious I hadn't been homeless on the streets.
She could've responded a dozen other ways but chose a judgemental non hospitable tone. So the Dentist examining me says everything's great! Cool! Onto my cleaning right? Well the same lady employee comes in, I guess she's the office financing worker, & explains the dr suggested I get a "mild" deep Cleaning which will b approx $100 out of pocket. Needless to say I'm perplexed as to why the dr said my teeth were fine yet I can't get a regular ole cleaning im given twice a year?
In 4 months it'll be a year & I hadn't received my 2 allowed free regular cleanings. Sounds like they are over charging. I stormed out, called my insurance & opened a grievance. For what it's worth this place always has "now hiring" signs which is fishy imo. Why can't they hold on to employees? If I'm being honest, I'd rate this place a solid 4. I'll only give it 5 stars because my recent experience went very well. I don't want to get too much into detail, but the employees in there are very polite and kind. Especially this woman. She knows who she is. She helped me very much with my process on my braces and this 5 stars is the least I can do to thank. So thank you very much I hope I can successfully finish my braces' process. I would definitely recommend this place for I know there's worse.

Best Dentist I have visited in my life. From the receptionist Maricela to the manager Letty! Their customer service was exceptional, they take extra steps in helping me maintain my teeth, they played some videos to help me understand what dental issues I have.im so glad I'm aware before it gets too bad. I'm excited to try the new toothbrush that they recommended! Dr. Nguyen and his assistant Jose were very gentle unlike my previous Dentist.
I'm very happy I came here, it was a long day and long appointment, but its very worth the wait. I will definitely be coming back here for my future appointments. They also do braces, so once Im able to finish my dental work, im going to come here. They take extra care of their patients. Thank you guys!

I've been coming to Gentle Care Dental for a year now and every time I come my experiences are always great! Dr. Nguyen is really nice and cares about his patients! The staff is also really friendly and very organized. He did an amazing work on my teeth, I really love how they look! I am very pleased with their services! I will give them more stars if I could.

This place is terrible at keeping appointments. I made an appointment for 2:30 on Friday 1/15/2, and I spoke to Letty before I went in to make sure that I have ample time to come back and work since I work from home, and she stated that the visit should take 90 min which obviously was not the case. As I sat there waiting for 45 min I saw my dentist walkout across the street to get a pizza!
They have no respect for patients' time and just have you wait there with no updates. Stay away unless you have hours to burn! If I could give 0 stars I would. Brenda did call me back after she saw me walk out to reschedule my appointment which was useless, to say the least.

I started going to Gentle Care Dental in 2019 after it was recommended by a family member. The dentists and the staff genuinely care about your well-being. The staff are always very nice and knowledgeable. When getting work/treatment they are very gentle and always making sure you are comfortable. My teeth and gums have never looked healthier and it is all thanks to the GCD team. I have had great experiences and will keep going back to them.

Went here a year ago for a routine cleaning. Front desk staff was very unprofessional talking personal stuff all loud for all to hear. But that's not the worst part. I was not seen by dr. Amir. The dentist who saw me was very abrupt and it felt like he and the dental assistant double teamed on me like greedy slimy sales people. Before my cleaning they pointed out "all that was wrong" with my teeth. I'm literally laying down looking up at their faces!
I felt manipulated and hustled. They kept trying to pressure me on making a future appointment immediately to fix my teeth. They quoted thousands of dollars. When I asked to take the report home and think about it, they said they couldn't give me a copy. I couldn't make a decision right then and there! Thats a lot of money and new information that I didn't know about my teeth!
Oh they went on and on about a crown and broken tooth and danger and scary scary stories how much I will be in pain and how bad it will be for me if I don't make an appointment to take care of this immediately. ALL THIS AS IM LAYING THERE! RIGHT BEFORE MY CLEANING! Horrible. It was horrible. What a horrible bedside manner. Yea I went along with the cleaning and then I got the hell out of there. The only one who was a nice professional human was the X-ray woman.

I love the dentist office! Dr Amari has an amazing staff that are the most courteous people I've felt with since being in Los Angeles! Lettie is the best, although I'm sure she's seen thousands of patients through the years, she always remembers me even after not seeing me for two years! Love this office!

I have been coming here for 4 yrs now. I love the ortho staff. Always welcoming and great. They are what keep me here. And I live their Saturday appointments. A few issues are the long waits. I have been waiting an hr and 30 minutes so far for my appointment today, and still waiting. This was an issue in the past that I thought they figured out but here we are again.
I had other errands to run after this appointment that I have to reschedule because i spent my whole afternoon here. I pretty much need to plan nothing else for the day but this appointment. The front office needs a bit more professionalism. Poor receptionist who is new was being reprimanded in the back office. Next time you may want to have the conversation behind close doors it makes it uncomfortable for the people waiting in the waiting room. ***update it was a 2hr wait*** that's just the waist time. Not including the time spent in the back.

Update as of 4/17/19 I'm still a monthly patient here. Unfortunately all the welcoming and excellent stuff I thought about this office only lasted a few months. I come in and there's no place to sit in the waiting area and apart from that parking is horrible. The ONLY staff that has continued to be welcoming is Daisy, Joaquin and Claudia and some of the other back office staff.
They are the only reason I remained here for so long. I presented my concerns to the manager and nothing was done. As a matter of fact she didn't even acknowledge them, she gave me a small mouthwash bottle and floss and hurried me out the door. No longer coming here after my treatment is complete! Whittier Dental is just down the street, much better service and office.

Dr. Amiri is very kind and friendly with patients. He gives great quality care! The staff are friendly provide good customer service. There is a bit of a wait but it's WORTH the wait. Dr. Amiri takes time with each other his patients to discuss their procedures which is a good thing! I am a happy new patient.

Was assigned this clinic by my insurance. i got a bad feeling since the beginning but I had no other choice once I started having pain. AND YOU KNOW WE SHALL NOT MESS AROUND WITH TOOTH PAIN. So tell me why they want to charge me for GUM DISEASE which was a common trend I had noticed on the comments prior to mine. they were trying to tell me my insurance did not cover some of the services but when contacting my insurance and looking into the procedure codes it has NO COST for me at all. like hello be ethical here people. if I could give it ZERO starts I would (YELP MAKE THIS AN OPTION)

I don't have nothing negative to say about the Doctor. In regards to the staff, they are unprofessional and need training in customer service and communication skills. You must have patience to come here. My appointment times are never respected, I always wait over one hour to be seen. I regret starting my sons ortho treatment here but I'm stuck here for another year. Definitely a place I will not return to. Place is dirty and unorganized.

If I could give this establishment negative stars I most certainly would. I was coming to Gentle Care Dental for over 2 years. The primary reason I started coming to this office was because they accepted my insurance. During my Ortho treatment a couple of my fillings had fallen out and the dentist REFUSED to replace the fillings, because they wanted to wait until my ortho treatment was done.
This resulted in MAJOR damage being done to my teeth because they are lazy and do not care about their patients. They told me I had gum disease and had to get a deep cleaning (which they literally tell EVERYONE). My new REAL dentist confirmed that my gums were healthy and a deep cleaning was not necessary. I met with a new Orthodontist and they could not believe what a HORRIBLE and careless job was done on my ortho treatment.
The retainer that they gave me was way too big and literally did nothing to keep my teeth from shifting. I am now beginning a new ortho treatment because GENTLE CARE DENTAL DID NOT DO A PROPER JOB. They over charge you for EVERYTHING, so make sure you call your insurance company and get correct quotes! So many of the most recent (5star) reviews are from the staff at gentle care dental.

Very friendly and professional staff! Very clean environment and they do an exceptional job with kids too. Took my 4 year old daughter for white composite fillings and for a regular 6 month dental check up. Prior to getting the treatment done, they reviewed pricing options with me. The fillings were expensive, but they did a really good job. Thanks Gentle Care!
