With direct digital, the x-ray image is produced directly and shown on the computer monitor instantly. On the other hand, with indirect digital, the x-ray image is produced from a 2-step method: 1st, the pre-image is captured on a phosphor plate; 2nd, a scanner is used to provide the final image which can be seen on a computer monitor. The process is lengthy and cumbersome.
Services
Our emphasis is patient service to achieve best quality. We take time to explain and educate the patients so they could have the best care possible. We strive to have a reputation of excellent service. With recent developments in orthodontics, which include self-ligation braces, three-dimensional (3-D) imaging, orthodontic temporary anchorage devices (TADs), laser, the complexity has increased significantly for choices of orthodontic treatments that yield most efficacy (effectiveness). The biomechanics employed is continually and carefully evaluated for each patient because patients come with different conditions.
Although CBCT (cone-beam CT) is designed for dental specialists and general dentists, chiropractors who specialize in Cervical may benefit greatly from utilizing CBCT. The effective dose of ionizing radiation given by a medical CT (fan-beam CT) is estimated as about 100 times more than that given by a dental CT (cone-beam CT).
When the bracket is loose, but the wire is not poking the patient's cheek or lip, then this is not considered as an emergency. It may be annoying, but there is no harm. When the wire is poking the patient, causing pain or ulceration or both, then this is truly an emergency. For emergency, please call our office for an immediate appointment, so we can take care of you.
The following are some examples of Class II malocclusion (dental Class II) or skeletal Class II or both. Some people use the layperson term "overderbite" to describe this condition, but the correct term is actually excessive overjet. For problems similar to this case, most orthodontists would require extraction of premolars.
This writing presents the current state of knowledge regarding PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrin), PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) and SB (Sticky Bone) in oral/periodontal surgeries and implantology. SB is a blob of bone particulates that stick together and include lots of growth factors. Although SB contains lots of growth factors which are good for bone growth, it may cause inflammation.

My brother has had his braces on for more than 7 years from here. Isn't that borderline negligence? 4 years, maybe 5 years MAX. And that's already pushing it. 7 years? LOLOL what are the people doing here LOLOLOL My brother would've probably had them on for 11 years because this place does a bad job aligning teeth properly, within a regular amount of time.
The only reason he's getting them off this "early" (LMAO) is because the army is forcing him to remove them. Also the receptionist scheduled my brother to come in today on a Tuesday and they're closed. We found out by looking at their Yelp hours. HAHAHA dead! I can't. This place is a bunch of incompetent buffoons. NO ONE here can do their job. UPDATE: they called back and turns out they just went overtime on their lunch. They came back at 2:20 when they scheduled my brother for a 2pm appointment. Big yikes

I got my braces with Dr. Vu back in 2011 and completed it by 2014. It took a total of 3.5 years as he had mentioned in the beginning. He doesn't see you at every monthly appointment, but he is always on track. A couple of times he told me that my next appointment would be the one where we would take everything off, but when the day comes and he is not satisfied, he will continue until it's perfect.
To some, this may be frustrating, but trust him and the process. It was very worth it to me. I loved my end results and still do to this day. But I have to say getting braces wasn't the only life changing thing he's done for me. There is one simple interaction that he had with me that means so much to me. Which I will share after this quick background: I had horrible stains on my two front teeth.
We have no idea where it came from, but they show up when my adult teeth grew out. They were two brown horizontal stains that everyone would stare at and often times mentioned. None of my previous dentists could do anything about it. One went as far as to mention drilling the stains out and filling them in again. So having this stain took a hit at my insecurity more than having crooked teeth.
Now fast forward to about a year into braces, I was waiting for my dental assistant to put in a fresh wire and Dr. Vu was free and walking around. He did a quick double take and decided to check in on me. I remember he squinted for a second and then asked, "What's this you got here?" *taps my two front teeth* "They are stains Dr. Vu.all of my dentists said there isn't anything I could do about it." "I could do something about it." "What?!" "Give me 5 minutes." *takes out a brush of some sort and a solution?* *brushes away* *steps back* *grabs mirror* I looked at the mirror and there were no stains anywhere.
In 5 minutes he took 10 years of my insecurity away. To him it might have been such a simple thing to do, but to me it changed how I looked at myself. Thank you to the team at Vu Orthodontics for giving me star quality smile and for changing my life!

I've had my braces done here and my wisdom tooth removal as well. Dr. Vu knows exactly what's he's doing. Sometimes the process takes long or it can be frustrating, but I can't deny the results, especially his methods in wisdom tooth removal. He's very precise and careful. He takes his time and adjusts whatever is needed to make you comfortable.
His sutures are very well done as I didn't need a gauze. My face wasn't swollen either! Granted I only removed one. Still, the whole process was beyond my expectations.

I started with Dr. Vu almost 2 years ago. I had a huge underbite and was in need of braces. Ever since, my teeth have been looking straighter and my underbite has been looking more and more normal. Not only is their work effective and reliable, their service is great. Despite what other negative reviews might state, Dr. Vu and his assistants are incredible nice and extremely sanitary with anything they do, wearing gloves 24/7 and washing their hands whenever they can.
Their care for health makes me feel very safe as well as showing that I can trust them whenever I come in for my monthly appointment. They are always positively flexible and understanding whenever I might have to reschedule an appointment. As well as being very very thorough about the entire process of what they are going to do on my teeth, letting me completely understand 100% of what they are doing to me; showing pictures of past patients that have had similar problems to me and how their problems were completely fixed.
Although Dr. Vu can be intimidating at times, he is a very hard worker and intends to get the job done as effectively and fast as he can. By doing these positive things, Vu Orthodontics gives me much more reassurance in their professionalism, service, and their business in general. I 100% recommend going to this orthodontic, you will definitely not regret it.

Dr Vu is an excellent orthodontist! He's always looking for ways to improve and really cares about his patients! He's been my ortho for over two years now and I feel very comfortable and confident with his care. As a nurse I'm fully aware of providing clean and safe care to patients. Addressing the previous review from DP. It's far from true. Dr Vu is not sharing gloves with his staff. That's just ridiculous! He's a busy Doc that's true but he's doing his best to give quality safe care to all his patients. Regarding his staff, I've never had an issue and was always treated with respect. I definitely recommend Dr Vu and his staff.

Dr. Vu, Mindy and the staff here is truly great! I came here about a year ago just to get a consultation and was so impressed by how clean and organized everything was. Dr. Vu showed explained to me right away what I needed to do to close my open bite and advised me I would need braces I've had braces ever since and have seen a dramatic change in my teeth ever since. Every time I come in for an appointment it's always a great experience!

My teeth were beyond disgusting before I got my teeth done here. I had my braces on for three and a half years and I'm extremely happy about my results. I am always greeted when I come here and customer service is always great. Dr Vu is very knowledgeable about what he's doing and if you have any questions he's always welcomed to answer them.
I highly recommend to come here and he takes his time, not like other places where they're greedy and just try to cram as many people in to get them in and out fast. 10/10

DON'T DO IT. JUST WALK AWAY. made the mistake of getting braces here. They schedule several people for the same time and make you wait forever. Dr Vu does not look at one patient and move on to the next---he jumps from patient to patient and then back. Most times he slips off the gloves so his assistants can use them. I was always scared of catching some disease here.
After 4 years he told me my teeth were straight and braces were ready to come off. Ok, great. I arrange for a babysitter so I can go to my final appointment. Once there, he tells me there are several teeth that aren't perfect and I can sign a waiver, or continue wearing the braces. Seriously, the a-hole should have told me that the previous visit.
At this point I was done with this place and just wanted them off. The receptionist is also extremely rude and would tell me that I looked very fat and asked if I was pregnant again (two months after I gave birth!)

I'm very satisfied with the results of my treatment. Vu Orthodontist Dr. Vu takes care of my braces and Dr. Nguyen takes care my dental cleaness. They are very patient with me and give me great advice before and during the treatment. They worked out a great financial plan for me, and I greatly appreciate their help.

I had an appointment for a consultation for my two kids in two hrs. I called in to confirm the location since google indicated it was Dental Land. The receptionist (sounded like a un-prof wife) picked up and said "Allo" I nicely asked if the office was Dr. Vu Orthodontics and if it was the same location as Dental Land. The lady thought I was looking for DentalLand and was rude.
I told her it did not matter if I was looking for Dentaland Or Dr Vu office that she should be nice to people regardless. I canceled the appointment and needed to find a more prof service. Who wants to go to the service that is so un-prof and cares only for your money

I had a very severe case of an overbite and Dr. Vu was able to make my teeth look extremely straight in only two years. He is very straightforward and never makes promises he cannot keep which is a refreshing change compared to other doctors who will only say whatever you want to hear. The staff is very knowledgable and they know what they are doing.they do everything efficiently and correctly. Dr. Vu himself is extremely knowledgable and knows exactly what to correct each time. The office itself is very clean. Overall, getting braces was a very good experience and I would recommend it to anybody who is planning on getting them.

I don't think any doctor would spend a 2.5hr consultation free of charge. My case might be different since I tend to ask lots of questions. Dentist is very knowledgeable, thorough, and not pushy. He went thru 2 possible treatment options and discussed pro & con. Office is clean front/back. Only downside of this place is the wait time can be 1-2hours long.

Dr Vu and his staff were very helpful and professional with us when we needed help. We are not from this area, but needed to replace lost braces bands. My daughter lost her rubber bands during our trip. We went to Dr. Vu's office and they kindly replaced them. I can tell that they take good care of their patients by the way they kindly treated us.

I'm not a patient of theirs, but I walked in their door after learning that the Albertson's next door didn't carry dental wax. Even though it appears I came in after hours they were very friendly and weren't trying to shoo me away. My braces were killing my cheek and when I asked to buy some of their dental wax they gave me more than I needed for free. If they are this considerate to someone they know is someone else's patient, I could only imagine they are even better with their own patients.

I thought I'd write a review for Dr. Vu since him and his staff has been doing a great job. I am still in the process of getting my teeth done. First time having braces and it's been almost 2 months now. I'll probably update this review as time passes. But so far, everyone has been really helpful and kind. The front office lady who always sits in the front desk, she's very knowledgeable and was able to answer any questions I have during the consultation.
Both she and Dr. Vu makes me feel happy and satisfied in making him my official ortho doc. Everything seems to be going great. He saved me a lot of money (esp. as a student on her own). I am very grateful of everything the staff and Dr. Vu does. I highly recommend this place!

I really like this doctor. Very nice easy going and knowledgeable DR. Clearly know what he is doing. Educates his patient thoroughly and then LET THEM make the decision on their treatment. This may not be a big deal breaker for most who expects their DR to do everything for them. For me this is a big deal. The staff were friendly and get their work done accordingly, new office and equipment.
Provide photos and X-Rays for patient instead of outsourcing it (saves a lot of hassle)and give his patient personal copies upon request at no additional charge. Big plus. Highly recommend. Price will vary base on insurance provider and cases. One negative is I have to wait a while to get check on due to under staff recently.

I had a cross bite and a funky tooth that stuck out. My funky tooth was an eyesore that I lived with for over 20 years! I was afraid of the pain of conventional braces and never thought that I would be a candidate for Invasalign. Invasalign was designed to be worn for about 18 months. Dr. Vu designed a program specifically for my teeth which I wore for close to 3 years.
I would have had to wear conventional braces for the same amount of time thanks to the cross bite and my funky tooth. On top of that, I would have to do some some funny cranking exercises if I chose conventional braces. I go to Dr. Vu and refer everyone that I come across to him because he's a perfectionist. Sometimes I get anxious because he takes too long on me, but I can't complain about that.
I can care less about the staff, although I've never had a problem with them before. They've always been professional in my eyes. My friends and their family travel distances just to go to Dr. Vu because they were very impressed with how my teeth turned out. Just yesterday, I called the office early in the morning but didn't get through to a live person (probably because I called before work hours), but later in the day I received a phone call from Dr. Vu personally.
I was very shocked to hear his voice. I've been in the healthcare field for 13 years. I know first hand that the standard of the healthcare industry has dropped significantly throughout the years because of reimbursements cuts made by the insurance company to the providers. In order to keep up with overhead the providers will have to double/triple book to be able to meet the quota for the day. Having your doctor personally call you is stellar service in my books. I will continue to refer my friends and family to Dr. Vu because I know he is passionate and stands behind his work.
