New parents have plenty to worry about: making sure their baby is healthy and happy, re-arranging their lives around hectic schedules and lost sleep, and figuring out what to do in all sorts of novel situations. When it comes to your child's oral health, though, there's plenty of help available. It all begins at our office, when you bring your youngster in for his or her first visit to the dentist. When will we meet your child? According to the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, a child's first checkup should occur by age one.
A. Pediatric dentistry is a dental specialty that focuses on the oral health of young people. Following dental school, a pediatric dentist has two to three years additional specialty training in the unique needs of infants, children and adolescents, including those with special health needs. A. "First visit by 1st birthday" is the general rule.
The most likely location for a cavity to develop in your child's mouth is on the chewing surfaces of the back teeth. Run your tongue over this area in your mouth, and you will feel the reason why: These surfaces are not smooth, as other areas of your teeth are. Instead, they are filled with tiny grooves referred to as "pits and fissures, " which trap bacteria and food particles.

My son has ADHD and anxiety. He has run out and been non compliant they have been wonderfully patient and kind with him, I have been going for years and all of the staff from the secretaries to the hygienists to the docs have been over the top with courtesy and friendliness. Would absolutely recommend

Billing is horrible. Wait is also bad. Waited 20 minutes to be seen. If you're more than 15 minutes late they say 'we probably won't be seen' yet they take longer than that to see us. After finally being called in my son was not cooperating and hygienist was impatient and rude. Will not be returning.

We love Smiles for the Future! My sons have been going to them since they were very young, around four years of age. They are kind and caring and very good with young children and that was what made us patients for life! My older son just finished with his braces and they were wonderful through that process as well. Their staff is extremely friendly and very good with all ages. It was always a pleasure to see them and I have never had any complaints, ever. I highly recommend them for all ages and all needs!

Both my toddler and I go here. Incredibly knowledgeable, gentle, patient, and kind with both of us. I have dental anxiety and hadn't been to any dentist in ten years and they didn't make me feel ashamed or guilty about that. Only four stars because they have been running a little late the few times we've been there, but I'd still recommend them.
