Ah Mai dental this place is such a scam. Dont be fooled by their advertising or anything. They are super unorganized like everybody says. The staff turnover rate is crazy high. Nobody stays working here long. I had to get braces and wear them for 2 years and the orthodontists would always winding up leaving every few months. 2 years 3 orthos. First one made me pull teeth at the time and said my teeth was over crowded.
Then when he left the 2nd one asked why did you have teeth pulled where there was no need. Then he also wind up quitting and the 3rd ortho told me the same thing. Alot of unessessarry work done. What does that mean alot of unessessarry charges meaning more moeny. They dont give two shits about their customers. All they want is money. Ive had fillings done only to have them fall out and apart in less than two years.
When i brought this up to them they said the work was not well done uh no shit?. Then proceeded to ask me who did the work? Your fucking doctors who else? Its crazy how they get over on their customers. Not to mention they had a big old issue with tons of customers because one worker where she was doing insurance fraud. DO NOT TRUST Mai dental. They only want to scam you out of your hard earned money.

It's time for me to move on and cut my losses short. I mean with every relationship even with friends, family, doctors, dog sitters, supervisors, nail tech, hairdresser, etc you must pay close attention to red flags and make the executive decision to walk away from something that doesn't benefit you any longer. This is what I feel for Mai Dental. I've been a patient with their office for over a decade and I'm happy to say that I'm finally severing my ties with them!
I felt like any young naive girl would probably feel waiting for years on end for that one guy to hopefully change his ways if she stayed by his side. But alas, not today. Not this one. This dental office has become extremely unorganized and highly unprofessional over the years. They have no regards for patient/doctor confidentiality and would divulge patient information to your friends/family.
They constantly change or push my appointments on me. MAKE UP YOUR MINDS PEOPLE. Time is of the essence here! The dentist is always late for morning appointments so you'd think that the front desk would learn to plan/schedule properly. I can't stand it when people just don't value your time as much as you theirs! One the most recent occurrence, they called me several times to change my appointment and when I showed up on time for my appointment in the morning on a weekday they told me my appointment was actually later.
I defended myself, and they finally let me know that the dentist was actually running late. Strike 1 and 2. Then they proceeded to ask if I could just wait until she gets there. I said no, I had to go, I got places to be! Then they asked me where I had to be on a weekday at 9:30am. Hold the phone! Where do you think.? WORK, breezies! I had to take time off from work to come see you guys!
I need to go to work so I can get insurance to come here! At this point, I have no patience with them anymore and then they asked me for a payment for previous services. I said I already paid but I'd look over it again. This has been the ongoing issue that I've tried to clarify! I've been harassed over for this same bill that I've already paid.
They never ever tried verifying in their own systems that it's been paid. Over the span of months, all I heard was you owe this and that. No, I do not, I know what I paid out cause it wasn't just $10, it was close to a $1000. I wouldn't forget that! They were so insistently that I owed this money that they even reached out to my parents for it! Excuse me, but my parents and I are under completely different insurances and I'm not their dependent, they have no reason to just talk to my parents about my visits!
Where is the professionalism? Or the discretion? This is a serious red flag because obviously their books are not clean and they don't have a real professional accountant that can calculate their ledgers correctly. I'm not sure how they can take someone's money and not credit that towards their services in their system. Where did my money go all this time?
When they had the nerve to speak to my parents about this, I really couldn't stand them anymore. I sent my mother in with all the information, my statements, my checks and everything before they finally agreed that it was an error on their part. All I got was a half-assed apologetic voicemail for all the grief that they've caused me. Weeks later, I get an angry phone call from their office saying that I have an appointment scheduled but because I have been unresponsive, they were going to cancel on me.
I didn't even make an appointment with them, I mean I wouldn't have especially after that whole payment fiasco! Then I realized that it was an appointment for my sister. How did that happen? Why is my phone number listed for my sister? Is their system that unorganized and never updated in a timely manner that not only would they miss $ coming in but they can't even get their patient phone numbers entered correctly? Update your patient information properly, please.
Just because we're sharing the same last name does not mean we're the same person! If Mai Dental was to take away anything from this review and if they really want process improvement, it would be to just clean up their system and provide better quality customer service. For everyone out there looking for a dentist, if you're looking for convenience you can find it here because they're open on the weekends, but overall their services aren't the best. They're also not very competitive in pricing for their services either.
You can see in my last review that I was able to go somewhere else to get my wisdom teeth pulled for a fraction of what they quoted me! This was with insurance too! Anyway, this is just me breaking up with Mai Dental because they're just not my cuppa tea anymore. It was alright while it lasted. I've shared some good and bad memories here, but the only ones I'm walking away with are the bad ones.

I definitely recommend this dentist! I Used to hate going to the dentist but since I got my braces for the last year I have to go every month for retightening and they definitely made my consults less painful and more enjoyable. All the staff are so friendly! Definitely I been recommending people to go here because of the customer service and the great job they do.
They always take care of their patients and make them feel like they're home! Everyone is so great from the receptionist to the doctors! Dr fox is great, but a BIG BIG SHOUT OUT to ALVARO! he is so great he is always so helpful and Always asking how is my treatment going. I will definitely keep going to this office even after my treatment is finish. I also have to mention that they are always so willing to help in Spanish which is great and convenient. Muy buen trabajo a todos y muchas gracias!
